What up y'all in this video I'm going to show you how to form your trumpet embouchure.
Let's get started. First say M or MMM to bring your lips together.
Next firm the corners of your mouth like this.
Then lastly we're going to flatten the chin. Practice forming your embouchure
in front of a mirror or using the front facing camera on your phone.
So you can practice forming your embouchure in one motion like this.
So to review we're going to first say M or MMM to bring our lips together.
Then we're going to firm our corners and lastly flatten our chin.
The general shape of your embouchure should look similar to a diamond.
But don't sweat over if your embouchure doesn't look like mine
or it doesn't look like someone else's. Everyone's mouth is different.
Here's three things to consider when forming your embouchure.
The first thing you want the center of your embouchure to be relaxed.
So you can let air pass through. One way to check to see if your embouchure is too tight
especially in the middle is to say your name while forming your embouchure.
You should be able to move your lips a little bit.

The second thing have your teeth slightly apart.
The last thing to consider is to have your tongue flat in your mouth.
Doing these three things allows you to have an open sound
that's free of tension when you go to play the trumpet.
And that's it for this video.
