Hi and welcome back to our series of videos on intentional laughter, laughing on purpose.
My name is Dave Berman and in this video I'm going to show you how I have created my morning
wake-up routine around laughing and I've been doing this every day for more than eight years
and I know that it's had an amazing impact on me becoming a morning person, being ready to take on
the day with whatever it brings and have just a can-do attitude about everything and I know that
this has impacted a lot of other people that I've shared it with so I'm going to invite you to join
along with me no matter what it feels like just allow yourself to experience this if this isn't
the right time and place to do it wait until you're at home and try this first thing when you
get out of bed in the morning stand in front of a mirror you're going to gently bounce you're going
to tap you're going to slowly start to giggle
all over the body
uh
take a deep breath in reach up high one more time deep breath and reach up high
I'll do that from one to three minutes not timing it but just you know kind of go in with the feel
once my energy is flowing sometimes it makes me want to just keep going other times you know
and just feel I need a deep breath laughter is the sound of joyful breathing I shared that with
you in the first video and it's really true it brings my attention laughing brings my attention
my breath so much so my morning routine I do the tap and laugh in front of the mirror and then I
drink two glasses of water real fast and I'm good to go I'm going to show you one more laughter
exercise for today it's a little gentle stretching with some sounds that are playful that become
laughter so for this we're going to start by putting our feet together hands on the knees
and make circles with the knees so these are joint circles and the sound of the knees is
go in both directions with the circles of the knees
now hands on the hips feet as wide as the shoulders we're going to make circles with
the hips and the sound is oh
now we're going to isolate the chest area more circles and the sound is
like you're opening the heart
next is the shoulders we're just going to roll them with the sound of
and just shake it out a little bouncing again this is a great way to just sort of warm up
and get loose if you're going to have a longer laughter session with friends
it's great to get playful laughter is something that's inside us just like spontaneity and
creativity and playfulness all these things are available to us all the time wherever we are
whatever our situation they've been part of our experience since we were babies and even as adults
they are wonderful valuable resources for us to tap into and the thing is
you can do it anytime anywhere we are practicing unconditional laughter because we have
unconditional access to our laugh and all of these other birthrights that i'm referring to
the creativity spontaneity playfulness you always have access to them and when you allow these
things to come out from within life becomes more joyful it's easier to connect with people
and you'll get exactly what you need when you need it from within so thanks for watching
