I am True Froston. The uniform we wear is MTP. We use it to camouflage into our surroundings.
This sort of pattern we use is ideal as we can go into multiple climates and situations and adapt to
camouflage. Today I've got my UBAC on which is an under body armour combat shirt and it's good for
ventilation as the material of it is very thin so it keeps you cool hot climates with your body
and then I have my round boots, angle protection, a leather so they're waterproof. I polish my
boots every day. We have to shave our berets. When you get them they have lots of little hairs on
them. It catches a lot of debris inside of it so you get rid of all of it and it keeps a clean look.
My first bit of kit is my helmet. It has a scrim over it. The scrim will break up the shape roughly
of the helmet and then I also have the cam net on the inside so I can put live cam in
from my surroundings to really help blend in and then I've got a night vision mount on the front.
On the inside there's a lot of padding. It's quite comfortable, not too heavy. Yeah they're pretty
decent. Moving on to my personal weapon system, the SAAT A3. This SAAT has the down grip and the
LLM attached to it. LLM stands for laser light module and it's got a white light, an infrared
light, a normal laser and an infrared laser and a bit of kit that can be added to the A3 is the
bayonet. Normally used as sort of a last resort, close quarters combat for sort of trench clearing,
stuff like that. When you get a lesson about face camo, so you put the cam cream on,
get rid of the shine, the best sort of method for it is have a base layer like green
and then you'd add say your brown and your black. Putting it on for the first time,
I really struggled with it. I don't know why but I just couldn't do it properly. I'd always have
really bad like ratios of colours. I'd look mad stupid. It feels really weird putting it on,
sort of pasty so it feels like really weird on your face but I got used to it. When I put my
uniform on in the morning I feel a sense of achievement and I feel like I'm doing a job
that matters and something I can be proud of.
