Hello to you all, wishing you a very Merry Christmas,
and welcome back to our own tiny home.
Welcome back to our tiny house.
It has been a minute since we have given you an update
of our own tiny home, so we figured this Christmas
would be the absolute perfect opportunity to do that.
Russer and I have actually only been back in New Zealand
for a couple of days.
We have had another huge travel year this year.
We've been to Europe, which has been amazing.
We've done quite a few trips over to Australia.
We have just got back from Perth,
where we did the tiny home expo,
which was just so much fun over there,
and it has been quite a journey this year.
I think, for me, the highlight had to be the UK.
We absolutely love our visits to the UK.
There's something about it over there
that just feels like home.
Obviously, my mum's from the UK.
I spent a lot of time growing up in the UK as a kid,
and so, for me, I definitely feel this real deep connection,
and we love filming over there,
and hopefully, we'll be back to do even more next year,
which I'm really excited about.
We still have an episode from the UK,
which is gonna be released in the new year,
and then we get into some really exciting
new Australian content,
which I cannot wait to share with you.
As you know, I have such a love of history,
and visiting the UK, for me, is a great opportunity
to just absolutely throw myself into that,
especially this trip, where we got to tour Scotland.
I got to visit some really beautiful Neolithic sites,
some stone circles, and I was just absolutely in my element,
so it wasn't all tiny homes on this trip,
and I just had an absolute blast.
There's something about the sensation of myth and magic
that permeates through the United Kingdom
that, ah, it's just so hard to describe,
but every single time I go back,
I just love getting lost in it.
But we're now home in New Zealand,
and I am really happy to be home for the summer.
Rasa and I are both a little bit travel-tired,
and so this is a really nice opportunity
for us to have a break, spend some time at home,
spend some time with family,
and doing some things that I really love,
but often don't get to do,
like getting stuck into the garden.
Rasa and I, we are on the road 90% of our lives.
We actually get to spend very, very little time at home,
which is one of the reasons why the holidays
is such a beautiful time for us, and it's such a novelty.
This tiny home that we're in right now, The Seat of Life,
this was my first tiny house.
This is the one that started it all for me.
And the only time that we've really been able
to spend a significant amount of time living in here
was during the COVID lockdowns,
and that whole era, which was bizarre,
but also, for us, a strangely beautiful time
where we actually got to ground ourselves
more in one place.
So when we are here in Auckland,
we have this tiny home,
which is where we spend most of our time
when we're back in New Zealand.
We do have our own land,
which we're still in the process of getting set up.
We shipped the Rasa Mahal tiny house
that we built in Queensland,
and we brought that over,
and we're in the process of getting that set up as well,
and hopefully we're gonna be able to share updates
on that with you next year as well.
But the truth of it is
that everything moves really slowly in our world
because we're never here to push things along.
So that's all still in the pipeline,
and I'm really excited about it,
but because we don't get to spend
very much time in the country,
it's all just a bit of a slow process.
But one day it will be glorious, I promise you.
So as I mentioned, we've been home now for a couple of days.
Rasa and I have been really busy
getting the tiny house all ready for Christmas,
doing some nice gardens, getting everything decorated.
Rasa has put her little Elvin cleaning hat on,
and things are looking beautiful.
We have restained the house.
I went for a little bit of a darker look
on the house as well, which I think looks really good.
Still having those pops of silver come through
in the paint, which is really neat.
And we've refreshed the pond a little bit,
and then, yeah, just done some basic planting
around the place.
So now all of the hard work is done.
We'll be spending a couple of weeks here
enjoying the Christmas period,
and then in the new year, we're gonna be going
and spending a little bit more time on our own land,
which I am very excited for.
As for our tiny house,
not a huge amount has really changed
since our last tour.
My book, Crystal and Plant Collection,
continues to grow, which is awesome.
I do have the saying that I can still classify myself
a minimalist because plants, books, and crystals
don't count, which I love.
Crystals are something that,
I don't know where my love of them comes from.
I think it's just a fascination with nature's geometry.
The fact that these things grow in the earth
just absolutely blows my mind.
And to me, they're nature's little artworks,
and they are just such a beautiful addition to the house.
I think there's just something that,
when I look at a crystal,
I'm reminded to be amazed by the universe
and its beauty, and just to be amazed at creation
and all its possibilities.
I think there really is something very special about them.
Plants are one of these things
that just really ground us into our home.
Having nature brought inside with us,
I just think really accentuates the space.
It helps to relax me in the home.
And again, I just think they're beautiful.
They add these pops of color and vibrance
and natural beauty that I just think
really accentuate the living space.
And books, I've just always loved my books.
There's something especially about nonfiction
that I really enjoy.
I love just having worlds of knowledge
just encapsulated in pages on my shelves.
And then fantasy as well.
I have a real love of fantasy.
I guess I love that escapism.
I love that sort of, again, mythology.
And there's something about fantasy
and escaping into fantasy worlds
that reminds me that the world that we live in
is also magical and beautiful.
I think that's one of the reasons
why I've always enjoyed fantasy so much.
You can see up here,
especially I've got my Tolkien collection.
Obviously, that's my absolute favorite.
Coming in a close second to Tolkien for me
would probably be Robin Hobb with the Fast Year trilogy.
And then after that,
I do also love George R.R. Martin's work,
I think he's another brilliant writer
and I really enjoy that.
And Douglas Adams with his Hitchhiker's Guide
to the Galaxy trilogy in four parts.
A beautiful reminder,
no matter what's going on in life, to not panic.
And as a traveler, to never forget where your towel is.
I think my love of books
and obviously my collecting of books as well
is one of the reasons why this year
I really resonated so much with Phil
and his beautiful home tour.
I loved diving into his bookshelf
and all of his wonderful treasures.
And so that was another wee little highlight
for me this year.
As for the Christmas decorations this year,
our gnome collection continues to grow.
Eventually, I'm probably just gonna call Christmas
the gnoming because my house just gets dominated
by these little things, which I just think are so cute.
And they're maybe actually my favorite decorations.
I just think there's something so special about them
that this time of year,
our house just fills up with little gnomes
and all these little places, which I just really like.
For our Christmas tree this year,
we just did something really simple.
I love the idea of having a living tree.
So we just got this little baby pine tree.
And I quite like the idea of starting a tradition
where we get a baby pine tree every single year
for Christmas and then plant it out
on our land somewhere afterwards.
I like that idea.
It'd be nice to have a little Christmas forest
in a corner of our land.
So I think I'm gonna do that.
And so as far as the changes to our own tiny house go,
that's about it.
We really haven't done that much with the place,
but this tiny home is still just so special for me.
This is a place that is a really beautiful home
for Russa and I on the rare occasions
when we do actually get to be here and enjoy it.
And even though we travel the world
and we see some really incredible tiny houses
that are much bigger and much flasher
and much admittedly better designed than this one,
this house for me has just the most beautiful sensation
of home.
And I know that wherever we live in the future,
this home will always have a very special place in my heart.
And now what has become one of my absolute favorite
Christmas traditions,
we have some very beautiful Christmas messages
shared from some of our new tiny house family
that we've had on the show this year.
Enjoy.
Season's greetings from Marianne and Ginger Latte,
who by the way, now identifies as a Tomcat.
May we all experience a joy and goodwill
that takes us through 2026.
Bryce and Russa, it was such an honor to meet you both,
making my fifth tiny home Christmas
in Northeast Victoria, Australia,
all the better for being part of your worldwide community.
I have an extra place at my table
for those virtual cuppers mentioned
in your YouTube comments.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
A huge thanks to Bryce and Russa
and to everyone who watched and commented on our video.
You're all legends.
Louie and I from out the gate,
wish you a big Merry Christmas
and a year filled with love and chasing your dreams.
Get after it team.
Greetings everyone.
And Merry Christmas, Merry Yule from Glen here
or Glendalf, however you want to call it in Herbswood
and enjoying Gandalf the build.
And I'm having a great time.
Not so much of a good time
putting up the Christmas decorations.
It's been so stormy here so far.
Ooh, that's enough meat for me.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thanks.
Always remember, dream with your eyes open.
Cheers.
Hi everyone, Amber from the Stylist Accommodation
in Juneau, New South Wales here.
Nick's currently out feeding the sheep
and can't be with us unfortunately,
but I really wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas
and a truly happy and wonderful 2026 ahead.
We just hope that all of you stay happy and healthy
and are able to share your tiny homes
with the rest of the world too.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Hey everyone, it's Kim and Dell at the paddock here.
Hope you're all having a great festive season so far.
It's been about three months
since Bryce and Rasa came to our home,
which means it's also been about three months
since we moved in.
So there's not been a huge amount of changes.
Since you guys saw the video,
we've just really been getting settled in,
settled into the house
and getting to know our local area as well.
We are glad to have our curtains up at last.
So they are covering our big windows here.
We only get about six hours of daylight at the moment
here in the dead of winter in the far north of Scotland.
So the curtains are definitely making it more cosy
as is our log fire.
We've been loving having the log fire burning away every day.
On that note, we built our log store just last week
and got a fresh delivery of logs,
which hopefully should last us the winter.
Our first little DIY project, it was quite fun.
We didn't argue too much, so that was fine.
It was relatively straightforward.
Yeah, we don't have much
in the way of Christmas decorations up.
We've just got some festive fairy lights
to give us some Christmas wintery ambience, I guess.
Yeah, and actually we won't be here over Christmas.
We'll be going and visiting Kim's family.
Merry Christmas everyone.
And all the best for the new year.
Bye.
Christmas greetings to all you scrumptious living big
in a tiny home community.
And thank you so much for your delicious comments
on my home, Shekinah, up here in Northland, New Zealand.
And also a big thank you to Bryce and Raza
for the amazing work they do
in bringing us such a variety of homes and people
with their amazing stories
on what they have created for themselves.
It brings the whole community together
and encourages other people to actually dream big
and take those little steps to make it a realization.
Now I've done absolutely diddly squat on my house
since I last saw you,
but I've been reveling in the ambience I created
and poured my creative juices into some projects
that I hope will come to fruition
in the early part of next year.
This little chap is my token Christmas decoration
because I don't do all that tinsel and stuff.
I'm going down to Antarctica in a month's time
and I'll get to meet the real deal.
And you never know,
I might have an interview with a penguin or two
to bring to you.
In the meantime, I encourage you to have fun,
embrace and cherish everybody around you.
And let's make next year
the year that we spread lots of love
and random acts of kindness to include everybody.
Take care of yourself.
Much love.
Greetings fellow travellers with the Astro Boy.
This is Phillip
and his precious, precious therapy hound, Billy Blue.
We are away from home at the moment.
We are up in the Blue Mountains with my mum and dad
awaiting surgery on this horrible tumour
that I have on the back of my neck.
We are missing our tiny home terribly,
but we will return home
to that wonderful nested library soon.
We are going really well
and we would like to take this opportunity
of wishing you a Merry Christmas,
a Happy New Year
and a really, really grand 2026.
This is Phillip and Billy.
Bye for now.
Hey, Bryce and Rasa.
As you can see, we've made a few changes in the living area.
It's a bit more cosy now.
We sat by the fire.
The decorations are up.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for coming to see our property
and showcasing it as well as you did.
And the comments from your viewers are unbelievable.
Really, really nice and really kind.
And we'd just like to wish everyone
a Happy Christmas from us both.
Happy Christmas.
We're enjoying the bar, aren't we, babe?
Mm, luscious.
Merry Christmas, everybody.
It's nice to talk to you all again.
Welcome back to our little slice of paradise.
We have been preparing for the Christmas season
by setting up our little wonky Christmas tree back here.
Tulsi decorated it for us.
We think it looks great.
And that is pretty much the extent
of our Christmas preparation this year.
We have finished work for the year,
so we've just been hanging out at home, haven't we?
Sam's been doing some gardening.
Well, we all have, really.
More you.
Yeah, okay.
I'm a sucker for gardening, what can I say?
But Sam pulled down about a kilo of mangoes
off of our mango tree this morning
and a papaya that's ripening in the fruit bowl.
So, you know, the fruit forest dream is alive and well.
We've been spring cleaning this space in here
because, you know, you try your best,
but we just keep accumulating stuff.
So, like, every year you have to do a bit of it clearer.
Yeah, we've got our beautiful roosters down here.
We've got two new roosters.
Ooh, so we have four now.
Yeah, Govinda and Robespierre.
Sam named them.
Govinda loves to peck your toes, so that's always fun.
He's a foot man.
And in the background here,
we've got Tulsi playing in his sandpit,
which he absolutely adores.
Beautiful.
And, yeah, we just wish you all
a beautiful festive season.
We'll be eating mangoes, lots of fruit,
and some vegan Christmas food.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, it's gonna be fun.
Lots of family time.
Lots of friends time.
Yeah, enjoy.
Have a lovely Christmas, everybody.
Yes.
Can't wait to talk to you again soon.
Lots of love.
Bye.
All the best.
Hi.
Wait.
Four, five, six, seven.
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Thank you for all the lovely comments
on the video of my home.
It was truly appreciated.
And I hope everyone has a lovely 2026.
Hi, everyone.
Greetings from Northern New South Wales, Australia.
Firstly, a big, big thanks to Bryce and Rasa
for coming to film My Tiny in the middle of the year.
It was an incredible experience.
And all the comments from the episode just blew me away.
I just was so touched by how generous and kind people were.
And they really made me feel like part of this global,
tiny house, simple living community
that you guys have created, which is really beautiful.
Not much in the way of Christmas decorations this year.
It's a bit minimalist with just a bit of bunting
up on my loft.
But I hope that whatever you're celebrating
this time of year, it's lovely.
And I hope 2026 is a great year for you all.
Thanks a lot.
Hey, everyone.
Bridie here from my seaside tiny house
on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.
Coming to you with your yearly Christmas message
to remind you that if you really, really want to live
in a tiny house, you cannot let anything stand in your way.
And if you've got involved in shower curtain gate
from my video back in January, I got an update for you.
So the update is that there is no update,
no shower glass, no shower curtain, nothing at this point yet.
Please send help.
G'day, Bryce and Rasa and to the tiny house community.
It's Jed and Lexi here from South Australia.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
To give you a little bit of an update on what we've been up to.
It's coming up to our one year anniversary in a tiny house.
We both really enjoyed settling into a small living.
We've started planting up some gardens, putting in some veggie beds.
We've installed a fireplace in the house, which is really great over winter.
And for those of you who do remember our video,
you might be happy to know that it might have taken 12 months,
but we have finally installed a bathroom door.
Well, it's a curtain, but it does the job.
Yeah, it does the job.
The comments that were left on the video were very heartfelt.
Really lovely to read.
So thank you, tiny house community. It was beautiful.
Hey everyone, happy holidays from this German Christmas market.
I hope you have some restful days and an awesome start into 2026.
My highlight of 2025 was probably when Bryce and Rasa were traveling in the UK,
specifically in Scotland,
sending me a video about a couple living in Australia in an old Scottish bus.
I thought that was really, really cool.
I enjoyed that a lot.
I hope I get to edit a lot more videos in 2026
and so that I don't feel lonely here at my workstation.
I, of course, also have a little Christmas gnome here by my side.
Bye!
Christmas is such a special time of year, and I love seeing the way
that our tiny house family all over the world celebrates Christmas
in their tiny homes.
We want to say a huge thank you to everybody who participated
in Living Big in a Tiny House this year.
It's so nice to see your homes and have you share
not only your stories with us, but also with the world at large.
Also, thank you very much to everybody who sent in a Christmas video this year.
We just love to hear from you all and see how you've decorated for Christmas.
It really is a joy.
Yeah, it is.
And to you, our beautiful viewing audience, from the bottom of our hearts,
I want to say a huge thank you.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
Thank you for watching our videos each and every week.
Thank you for making everything that we do possible, because without you,
none of this would be happening.
So I want to wish you a huge Merry Christmas,
Happy Holidays, and thank you so much for being a part of our story.
Next week, we are going to be back again with our Top Tiny Homes of 2025,
which I am so excited to share with you.
But until then, Merry Christmas.
