A new chapter in my life has begun. This will bring new changes to my succulent garden. Listen to my story in between the sounds of crunchy and mushy leaves.
I was listening to some YouTube videos today and that song was playing
and now it's stuck in my head so the whole morning all I've been doing is
but anyway we're not here to do some
we're here to do some succulent cleaning and also I'm gonna give you a goss on my life some gossip
so if you care to know anyway just so you can know what's going on in my life why my succulents are
the way it is right now so these are the succulents that I've got on the table here that are waiting
for me to make them pretty again so different types of succulents and we've got Echeveria,
more Echeveria and oh Ionium and of course Aloe, not only which hasn't seen the light of day
for like ages years since it was like this so this poor Aloe has spent his life probably at least for
looking like this and I've been meaning to clean it up and clean it up and never get around to doing
it so now today I'm gonna show you how to clean this Aloe and also this Paris Rose that was
affected by the heat wave. It's a heat wave in my garden so I watered it one day and then
overnight or actually one night and then overnight that's what happened and this is now
two days later since I put it inside here and so it has become worse so I really need to clean it up
right now and also my Red Velvet which needs a little bit or a lot of tidying up and also
this poor Amastro which has got some nice crunchy leaves and also this Amastro can you see the
difference this one is also Amastro but look this one's down in the lowland and that one is living
up in the highland so the difference of the colorations look at that hey but
it's got nice crunchy leaves oh that's not so crunchy at all but I'm sure there's still
lots of crunchy leaves in there also this Echeveria Agata which is a very very difficult
succulent to clean up and also I've got my Dudleya which I haven't cleaned up since buying it so
when I bought this before it was just one plant and now it has grown into three heads
but hasn't been cleaned so at the moment I'm not supposed to clean this up because they are dormant
but I will explain to you why I'm still cleaning it up and also this other Dudleya here poor thing
so it just got rained on today actually yesterday we had rain and today it's raining and still
raining a bit of drizzle it's sort of probably dried down died down a little bit now but
it's still wet outside and this poor thing here has been covered in one of my pot that's got lots
of other plants in there so I just noticed it today and I thought oh my goodness I should really
take that out and clean it up and also we're gonna clean up the really really bad uh what is this one
this is some sort of strawberry ice I think I use strawberry ice or it is strawberry ice with
I'm sorry spider oh there you go I killed the spider anyway so this one because that would be
nice and crunchy I think so anyway guys I better get on with it and let's start clean
hello there my name is Liz a self-confessed succulent addict welcome to my channel
growing succulents I'm gonna start this part of the video with a funny thing happened while I was
cleaning up I was talking and talking and talking and then I was so engrossed with my cleaning up
and not knowing whether I should or shouldn't tell you what's going on with my life but
I need to for you to understand my future videos but I forgot to put my microphone on so
to make sure that I don't lose any more footage I thought it best that I'll show you the cleaning
up of the video of course that with no talking we're just gonna well some of them will have some
crunchy leaves sound but the story that I told has to be cut off because it's not going to make
sense basically so now I am gonna start again but this time I am gonna show you this agarwood
look beautiful as it may be it's hiding a lot of dirty dirty secrets underneath so don't you like
dirty secrets because I've got not really a dirty secret but I'm moving on secret that I've been
keeping from you so anyway I'm gonna get on with it so while I'm cleaning this up you will see
me cleaning up and of course I am just gonna rattle on the story and this time I am looking
as to whatever but what is best is that I'm gonna focus on the succulents so that way you can see
what's been happening and whether good or bad we'll see what happens anyway so let's get on
with it but so far these are the succulents that I have cleaned up so let's start with this agarwood
you can see that it looks pretty on the top but underneath it there's a lot of dry leaves so
I'm gonna start my is this a confession or more like just sharing you
sharing with you my current situation or what's going on in my life right now
which most people would say that's none of our business but or I shouldn't really be sharing
this but it has something to do in relevance to the future videos that I will be making
so for a while now my videos since the passing of my husband haven't had any structure because my
brain is just all over the place well I need to continue making these videos because this is my
at the moment and so no video I don't eat and of course the worst part is I don't get to
buy succulents of course to share with you now so which I haven't been buying succulents for
a while actually so I've been really on living on a budget since this is my only source of income
and I don't make much from YouTube put it that way so no videos no eat so it has become more
of just making videos just so I can generate revenue but I hope well put it this way I still
try to incorporate some useful tips and information on my video so I hope that it's what it's coming
through because for a whole year after the passing of my husband I was just in mourning
so I gave myself one year to basically okay I actually should have you know okay I don't know
if if I don't show you the plant then well if I show you my face then you're not gonna see the
plant so anyway so I know just you just know it's me who's talking here okay now I got two cameras
but the problem with that is that the file gets so big that it's really really difficult to upload
it on my computer because it sort of tends to lag down so that's why I try to as much as possible
do short files and if I reduce the resolution of my videos it's not gonna look very good so anyway
so that's why I have to compromise okay so for the first year of my husband passing not a day
has gone by without me shedding a tear every day I wake up with a tear and I'm just feeling sorry
for myself and I'm allowed to do so but anyway so um and go to bed with a tear and I already
am aware that that's what's going to happen but I need to go through the process
of grieving and of course uh the first couple of months as well Pedro passed away my budgie
and so made it really worse and so for the first year it was just going to bed with a tear and
waking up with a tear now does that look good now I think oh I still gotta leave here I always say
that I'm still gonna live to 126 but realistically I'm just hoping that I live to 90 I'm just
continuing chopping this off without explaining to you that it needs to be chopped off because
the other side of it is really not very good so you can see that's all rotted but hopefully this
one now is attached to this other side here but hopefully this thing doesn't infect that so I'm
off as much as possible but then I think hang on now I got gloves I don't know I can't feel but
anyway I just wanna feel her real love anyway oh are you variegating so anyway this one now I am
hoping that this would not die on me but you can see on the side here it's affected so we're gonna
chop that off because see I was right it's getting black so gangrene that's what it's got so there
you go that's good enough oops see it's shedding its leaves anywho and so as this one here oh no
there you go that one too see look that's already got a mark so I don't know what happened to this
one it just decided to end it all so I think it's in sympathy with the rest of the plant that I had
here before so I had a really expensive crested one that was a blue rock rose variegated 108 I
paid for it but anyway the next one is this hello nobody nobody is not very noble right now the
leaves are first of all I need to get rid of a lot of the tips that are sort of dried up like this
one's here so I'm just gonna chop them off to the end of where it's dried up there you go I'm still
gonna cut a bit more later on but okay there you go now this poor thing for so long I've been
meaning to but I just kept forgetting okay there you go you're crunchy anyway where are we with our
little talk so at the moment finding my way into the world again so I don't even know what to talk
to you about really honestly because I don't really like sharing personal stuff so as much as
possible okay here we go well to start off with for the past few months well a few months ago
actually that's what I should start with because I don't really know how to say this guys but anyway
I was offered to move into about 250 kilometers away where I am where it's a little bit warmer
so the a friend of ours who owns a farm is hardly in his farm and so he asked me if I could be a
caretaker or even if if I need a break if I would like to go and stay in the farm and basically look
after the farm for him because he's away most of the time so he only goes to his farm once
every month or once every two months so he's really worried that someone's gonna break in
of course you know for security reasons that's the reason why but anyway he's got friends
who regularly check out the place but he said it's still better if someone is actually living in it
and since he's got a greenhouse because he used to also grow plants and sell them
many years ago so this greenhouse that he's got I'm just struggling here is just sort of abandoned
and the whole farm is really sort of neglected but the only thing he's got is the shape to
keep the grass low okay oh oh this is looking better already so I got offered that
it's not really a job but anyway so if I would like to stay there because I've expressed interest
before in well I told him that I really want to buy a farm and move into a farm
because I want to grow I love having growing basically my own vegetables and fruit I grew
up in the farm so when I was just a little girl yeah I'm getting carried away and guys
you're not seeing what I'm doing here but anyway I'm just pulling off look at that
I think you know I should do I should just clean this up and then that way you can enjoy
the peace and quiet and then I can just tell you a story on top of this peace and quiet isn't it
anyway I can't pull this off but I think this one is better look can you see that on the side
it's sort of leathery as well so that's why it's kind of hard to
clean this up there you go I'm tugging it and pulling at the moment aloe is
dormant during summer so the growing season is mainly when the temperature is sort of
in between the goldilocks sound that's what I call it not too hot or not too cold when it gets
too hot they go dormant when it gets too cold they go dormant as well and during winter if
they're brought inside oops I just killed another spider did I know I'm sorry it's a jumping one
okay I don't want it to end up in the house sorry spider anyway if you are in an area
where your temperature is between say 10 degrees to say 25 so that is aloe's preferred
growing temperature so anything outside of those ranges they go night night they go to sleep
or dormant anyway oh I'm almost done here look at this I can't clean up and tell you the story of
so I think I'm just gonna continue showing you this and then anyway do I know I can't
very very hard because I'm hiding something from you okay so okay
um I'm gonna continue with the story should I I'm really really struggling
I mean because I am still not sure okay I don't really like sharing personal stuff but
anyway I'd like to keep it for myself but at the moment because of my situation I still
have to do the video because this is my source of income basically so that's the reason why I
have to continue doing these videos for years but also the same breath I am not sure whether
I should continue growing my succulents the way I continue growing it or should I change into
growing it a different way a different way is what I meant by that is wherein it can be portable
and be transportable to my new place of future residence so I am planning to move somewhere else
and of course it's very hard for me right now to navigate moving away from where I am
so I still have to set up that place where I'm moving into and of course where I am here right
now is I have some work that needs to be done so in the future I'm planning to sell this place
and move somewhere else that's all I could tell you right now so that's why if my videos or the
state of my succulents right now is they don't know whether they're coming or going is because
of that so I don't know whether I should stay or should I go I'm gonna start saying should I stay
or should I go uh-huh it's because I met someone it's not really that I met someone so he's the
person I'm with now we have known him for a long time so he's more like a family friend but also
he's been which I swore I will never go out with anyone who knows of my husband or myself and
that's why I say never say never so I've always said that he's the last person I'm going to be
going out with and yet here I am ending up with him because he was very steadfast unrelenting
and very determined because we have the same interests basically I did not know that we
actually share a lot of things in common until I got to spend some time with him so anyway I'm
going to continue my story so and this aloe is starting to look very noble look it's cleaning
up and now we can see all the babies here anywho I can't separate them yet because of the dormancy
as I mentioned earlier but anyway so I still need to clean this up or tidy this up a little bit more
than its present state right now but anyway so just a couple more tweaking like this leaves here
but let me continue my story so it's still fairly new the relationship I had with this person and
the good thing about him is that I can't even say his name anyway is that about hubby because he
adores hubby and my husband and we spent a lot of time with him as well when hubby was alive and
also I have to say that it was also one of hubby's ideas before when he was still alive he was
actually already planning I would just say suggesting who I should go out with and of
course at that time when he mentioned this person's name I said to him nah he's the last person on
earth I would go out with okay so now so at the moment we're still sort of trying to well we're
still getting to know each other stage but it's on like it's like speed dating right now but he
has his life and I have my life and when he's not working we spend time together but um of course
and that's the reason why I'm always away as well so apart from my other issues in my life like my
ailments and stuff like that in a nutshell this was going on in my life and so if I say oh I'm
going away somewhere it's because to spend time with him but then now we don't really know until
we know basically but we're trying to plan our life together and of course it's very very hard
at the moment because I've got my succulents here or a lot of my plants and he's sort of
overwhelmed as well if like I have so much plants and I said to him we should really set up the farm
first before I start moving my plants because it's all based on my succulents as to they decide and
I don't want to sell them as well I want to keep what I've got here already and then sort of grow
them to where I'm going to be moving to so anyway that's one down now another one down so I can
live with that one now so we leave this one as is that's sort of clean enough there you go so I got
a one two three four five six seven eight plants now when I got this there was only like two plants
but then over the years he would have grown more had I looked after it so this one was just shoved
in the corner neglected and look at it now it's still beautiful isn't it so that's why aloe nobili
so it's worth keeping this plant even if you neglect it it still lives and produce babies so
this next one is this amestro now this amestro is going to be a noisy one so anyway guys
lately I've been on some adventures I've been prospecting and of course on and off I've been
so anywho I don't even know what I want to talk to you about now so should I just keep quiet and
let's just enjoy cleaning succulents is that better because I don't really have anything
to share with you apart from well okay my kids are about over 300 kilometers away from me so
I got my two kids and then my other daughter is thousands of miles away from where I am right now
so I get to see my grandchildren still from my son's side and my grandchildren from my
other daughter yes I don't get to see them because of course they're far away unless I go to they're
in the Philippines right now and of course unless I go to the Philippines for a visit that's the
only time I could see them but at the moment I'm sort of living on my own and of course when you
live on your own it's very very hard I've got relatives around me and I still have my husband's
family that sort of lives nearby but I can't really rely on them or depend on them because
I get embarrassed as to you know like if I need some medical attention like I do now so it's very
important to have someone that can sort of look after me and the person that I'm with now as well
knows they're just saying oh no I'm gonna be with you and you're a sick lady but I said oh well
take it or leave it because you know anyway I will hopefully get better my shoulder is um
I'm highly medicated right now so it's probably the reason why I'm telling you all my secrets
otherwise I would be mum about the whole thing I will not share I don't like sharing
my life okay I'm very private okay so for someone who's very private then you go and do YouTube
videos yes so certain parts I don't mind sharing it's like well now okay I'm not showing you anymore
that I'm cleaning up in it but there's just a certain aspect of my life I don't really like
sharing so like say for example my grandchildren that's a no-no or my kids life I don't like
talking about it because that's their personal stuff so I have boundaries and it's important for
me to keep my boundaries because that's part of my self-respect and if I just tatter tail all the
time then I probably wouldn't respect myself because um there's certain things that one must
keep to oneself even though oneself is a YouTube content creator so anyway I'm getting carried away
no crunchies but do you like the crunchy look it's not really as crunchy as I'd like it to be
because it's all very leathery because they have been watered it's not really as dry but this one
is quite dry this is a mess rub and it's putting up babies like you would not believe so if you
see that look there's a baby there in the corner and then also down here there's a couple of babies
there as well but I'm gonna be careful do that so this one is funny because this one is red so
maybe it's because it's stressed because the soil is really really dry so when you have soil like
this as well that's dried up what I like to do is kiss it up when I remember and even
try and push it up the top and then top it up put more soil in so like this one now
it would actually do well if I top this up with new soil so anyway so the roots has to breathe
so that you we have to tease the soil so this one is all like compacted ready
okay if anything you can also remove it and then repot it basically take all of this out
and then put new soil in or remove all the old soil and put new ones in but for now for this one
I'm just gonna leave it as is because as what I've said earlier I don't know whether I'm coming
or going I don't even know if I should take this in one go like that or I should put all my amestro
together in one pot so putting all my eggs or should I say amestro in one basket so that's
what I'm planning to do anyway so that's why I'm best just cleaning it up for now okay that looks
better now that's good enough and then I just let this dry up for a couple of hours so by the time
probably I finish doing this video or filming this video it would have dried up and then I'm
gonna give it a soak and then also top it up with new soil but isn't she beautiful anyway I'm gonna
continue with the next one this one is a very amazing grace and she doesn't look very amazing
right now so this is quick one so I thought I'll just show you again it's not very crunchy
so I'm a little bit disappointed that this is not as crunchy as I'd like it to be but anywho this
one has uh grown flowers before and all those leaves that you see in there see those ones there
they're actually from the flower stalk that I removed and put it here and so far I don't see
any babies yet so this one I'll take that off and so this is just a quick cleaning job and that one
too has suffered a little bit from rotting from watering and the bottom leaves I'm going to remove
there you go so and hopefully that will grow some pups and I'm just going to leave that there
and there you go she's all are you done and clean up yep too easy there you go see very good
now I'll put you away and then we are going to do the next one my next victim is this one I think
it's a little bit wonky or I'm just looking at the screen and it's not square anyway so this
is red velvet and this red velvet as you can see has been affected by watering so you got the rain
and also me watering it and of course that's what happens so they get hit by the sun and they become
too sensitive for the growing condition that I put them in so this one actually I noticed they
also prefer to grow when the temperature is like moderate temperature not too hot or not too cold
so when it gets too hot that's what happens when it's too cold that's what happens as well
so they don't like it but in winter is when they are at their best when the weather is cold because
that's when they color up but at the moment since it's all okay I'm just seeing because it's all
warm that's what happens they don't like being hot they lose their color and then right now this one
here I don't know if you can see that one we have some mealybug mealybug and you see those white
fluffy bits there those are mealybugs so what I like to do with those mealybug is okay take some
barbecue stick and we're gonna barbecue it the mealybug that is so what I like to do is use this
the pointy end but be careful I should be careful not you not to stab it so I just gently and roll
it around and that way I can get the mealybug so you see that blood the mealybug blood on greens
like that so that's still mealybug and then of course that one there another one yes that's
another dead mealybug or mealybug blood so I have to continue cleaning this up so I can get rid of
the mealy's the mealy's and then this one okay this is a pointy tweezer so when I use this I
like to control it by putting my finger on the edge and then of course so that way it's sort of
I'm leaning my little finger on the sucker so that way I don't push it but sometimes
they sort of jiggle jiggle oh this is actually hard so I just have to pull there you go so that
one is fighting me so I need to do use my forceps and maybe do some death rolling here okay because
this is ah good you can see the tip there so which means it's nice and clean but otherwise
I have to use the tweezer again and then say ah open up we have to remove that one gently
there you go mealybug again so you can see the mealybug in there so that one is still look
mealybug at the back that's mealybug mealybug so after cleaning this up I will be spraying this
but anymore for the meantime I'm just going to be very very carefully
see look lots of mealybug at the back anything that's sort of white that is mealybug
mealybug okay now come on say ah open up we go another one more mealybug how about that
now I'm gonna get my barbecue stick and see if I could roll them out of there
I can sort of see them but I can't get to them hang on yep I can't get to it I can't get no
satisfaction but I tried okay there you go now what else this is like surgery
succulent surgery isn't it yeah more mealybug and the next layer okay oopsie there you go
they're just breaking off because uh red velvet is sort of the leaves are sort of tightly packed
and that's why it's so difficult to clean them up but the bottom part that's dried up those ones
crunchy okay oh very crunchy okay yeah you can go on the side so I'm just pulling them underneath
okay see if we can get a little of more mealybug uh of dry leaves more mealybug again
now that one I need oops I need to lock this because there you go so it doesn't see
no it's not moving so I'm using a cake uh stand so for those who bake cakes that's what I've got
anyway okie dokes oops so this one as well is very crunchy okay ah oh that is so satisfying
when you pull pull it out like that nice and clean but anyway it's exposing more mealybug
which is good so I'm gonna unlock this so you can see there you go and from the back we'll do
it this way okay I'll move that there and just gonna feel my way underneath so anyway I'm gonna
continue cleaning this up and then I'm gonna continue with whatever comes out of my mouth
okay so she wore red velvet is that blue velvet the song okay here
oh there you go look look all those dry leaves I've been hiding it so anyway
also I've got some oxalis here so oxalis we have to loosen them up
taste the soil so you can can you see that I can't really very difficult isn't it there you go
can you see dog's alice you got jiggle jiggle and I like the pointy tweezer because I can feel the
tip more there you go oh look roots I got roots concentration is needed for this or else you break
the roots and that's it they will grow thicker okay I'm gonna do the roll of death or death
rule ah yeah I got some roots okay that's good enough and then yep roots more roots
yes more roots okay so satisfying okay so do I continue with this boring one or should I do
another one I think I'll do another one because you already got the idea here and this one as well
let's go to baby oh am I gonna sacrifice the baby and show you okay so this is how I do the operation
now very quickly I feel like getting this one's first so I get the blunt
tweezer and then that way I can just shake this all off and again some mealy bug there happening
and then so this happens when you have flowers stalk starts to form because this uh fresh
shoots and of course the mealy bug they like the soft tissue
or plants they don't like the hard old ones anyway you got that one there
it's gotta be gentle because whoops I semi stabbed it oh okay so I clean one side
and I'll do the same on the other side yeah this one the whole lot here this one is what
has got the perfect face see but the rest of the back it's not so perfect hang on I broke it but
anyway so you get the idea so this ones are really difficult to do so I prefer to do this in the quiet
because if I do this in front of you I am going to kill my precious red velvet because I'll be
thinking about something else and then I'll be talking about something else and I won't be
concentrating and then I'm gonna kill them so anyway I'll put this aside for now I'll go back
to it later on in the quiet and for the meantime I will do this problematic strawberry eyes this
one is actually good because there's gonna be lots of crunchiness I think so all I'm doing is
okay so now I've exposed a baby down here so are we gonna continue our chit chat
do you want me to continue with my yakety yak yeah anyhoo
people know me says that I can even talk underwater or actually do you talk in your sleep
well or do you snore well I snore I know I snore when I'm really really tired sometimes I snore
loud sometimes I snore quietly but oh jeez I love a good snore to a point where sometimes I even wake
myself up so anyway so when you're starting a new relationship do you actually keep awake just so
I do that way the other person doesn't hear me snoring and then so that's only good for the first
few weeks but eventually I can't hold off so right now the stage of our relationship is really good
because I can sort of not sleep for three days and then three days I go away or four days or a
week I go away I go back home that is and then I can get all the sleep I want at home and snore
my head off but while with the other person I try and stay awake well I try very very hard not to
snore because I don't know if you know that's sort of off-putting but anyway but I guess I can only
hold off for so long so eventually now he's found out that I do snore and I do snore really loud
especially if I haven't slept for a few days so but it's funny that um he's actually sort of
accepting he just wakes me up and say wake up you're snoring I said oh sorry so anyway but I
remember hubby before he said every time um I snore he would just touch me he would just put
his finger on my shoulder press and then I would stop the minute he lets go I start snoring again
he says so anyway so I think it's funny and then I wake up in the morning because there are days
especially if we're out in the bush that I oh look what happened now see I'm not paying attention I
took out baby but it's good good excuse to propagate it because this thing now has got
some roots and is screaming that saying I don't like this place anymore I have to move somewhere
where there's bigger land instead of this crowded land here so that's why this strawberry ice need
to move somewhere somewhere where there's plenty of land okay so I'll put you aside here and of
course the other ones here I'm sure would want to do the same so maybe I can just pull off hang on
I'll pull off that one see okay so this scenario now this thing is really in dire need of repotting
okay so that way they will grow big so I'm going to plant them in my intermediate succulent soil
mix but I am not even going to dilly dally I'm just going to go pull them off and clean this up
again see every single one of them from a long time ago already this is already probably a few
months ago when those roots showed up and saying I need to be transplanted into a new place
because the soil has dried up it's not conducive to my growing condition anymore but then of course
I've neglected it and so now the plant is showing signs of dying because I'm dying so if a plant is
dying in one pot then you should really transplant it and move it into another pot I am smiling
because you know I'm not talking about the pot so anywho so another one and of course I continue
to clean this all up and should I leave this one here I'm going to leave maybe a couple of heads
okay there you go that's the whole thing is all really dry that one as well even though that's
already growing that's still dry oops I'm sorry spider oh that's three spiders I killed today now
I'm sorry anyway can't be helped and so now I got all this plant and then that there I'm going to
leave that there and see if I could revive this okay so same story I'm gonna toil the soil
I have to cultivate it because if it's left dry for a long time it needs to be aerated
and then it can grow so now there you go okay that's it there because once the soil is dry
like that you can see look at that it's all dry nothing's gonna grow in that soil so
now hopefully this one now I'm gonna actually add some fertilizer in this one as well and see
if it's gonna produce more babies but at least I know now this one is my original pot original
original plant and these other ones now are the babies which I'm gonna continue to clean up
and put in another pot to grow and while I'm in here I might as well chop chop chop all of them
because the stems are already old so I'm gonna put new stems like so and then let this dry for
a couple of days and then replant them
hello so anyway I forgot to turn on my microphone again but you get the idea it's not very crunchy
as well because there's a lot of moisture in the air so we have high humidity and that's why all
even though it feels like crunchy but it's not there you go so that one's quite quick and also
I've noticed that I have a little bit of mealy bug action here so you can see the white fluff there
so I'm just gonna roll this barbecue stick and remove that and there you go that's not too bad
I still got a couple of dry leaves underneath and just to be sure that no nasties we're gonna
attack this one I'm gonna use my methyl solution and spray it a little underneath
just really saturate it that way they all die okay there you go so any mealy bug that's there
will be gone and I'm just gonna remove anything that's dirty making it dirty so it'll be nice
and clean oh that one is the leaves is quite damaged I'll leave it for now because it still
looks better with it on than off so there you go so another one bites the dust so this one now I
want to get up close and personal with this because this is a chameleon agata rose that is very very
crispy so the slightest touch the leaves just break off and the dry leaves still stays so I have
to be really really careful okay so dry leaves that you see there I'm just gonna slowly shake
it from side to side and you can see that it just keeps breaking off see it comes in pieces
now I'm gonna use my forceps I'm gonna successfully remove this by tugging it
but it can also break so it's not guaranteed there you go now this one
so difficult so unfortunately there are some succulents
that just would not want to release the dry leaves they try and hang on to it for dear
life okay so this one I'm pushing on the side but very very very carefully and if I were to use my
tweezer that's a blunt tweezer it'd be the same thing it would not actually hold it would just
ah so it just keeps slipping so I'm gonna use my pointy tweezer even though I don't really
not my weapons of choice but they just break off it's okay are we gonna tug it
ah okay ready a one two three go yay successfully so that's how you remove these leaves so I'm gonna
do another one okay a one two I'm shaking first there you go that one actually came off quite
easily and then this one now the same oops broke off but there was movement so this should just
follow through there you go so this is how I remove tightly packed succulents or should I say
succulents that have tightly packed dried leaves now this one here the stalk should come off easier
not okay ah need to tug again but I'm just really worried that I might remove that so I'm gonna do
some oh slow maneuvering okay we'll use the forceps now okay I don't want to put it in the
side because I might break some leaves but anyway okay then I'm gonna grip now there you go ah broke
off okay so I'm gonna leave that and then I'm gonna do this one here and there you go shake shake shake
shake shake shake shake your leaves come on so they say shake your booty there you go good yes
excellent another one yes okay another one breaking off because breaking off is hard to do
it's very difficult okay this one's really tight ah so satisfying when they come off
another one okay lots of oohs and ahs for this one but anyway so I should call this the ooh
ah plant ooh and ah okay another one there you go that's good now we insert
oh I can feel movement with the other ones here so I need to do maneuver there you go
came off oh that is so satisfying oh now that one doesn't want to follow
please follow me where I go okay tug yes there you go so anyway for this one guys I'm not gonna
finish this I'm gonna leave it now I will continue this later on but you do get the idea
that different succulents will have different degree of difficulty in removal of leaves okay
that one tug yes excellent okay so I'll come back to this one later on so there's not much there but
this requires my full concentration I'm now finished cleaning up my red velvet so you can
see it's all nice and pretty now they look much better now but I have found a lot of mealybug on
this one and then I just missed one leaf here okay how did I miss that one anyway not paying
attention okay and so now I'm gonna spray this with oh hang on I missed another one it's funny
sad so you can see another mealybug there so I have to spray this with my methyl and then dry
leaf underneath and so now we spray with my methyl solution again okay every single one should be
saturated so I'll do this side first and shake off all the leaves even underneath and then we'll
flick it on the other side and I also harvested one baby with roots so now I need to let this dry
up and pop that up and of course I've got a whole heap of leaves that one's just dangling there I
think it's already gone but anyway yeah so hopefully those leaves will grow some little pups
or new pups for this Echeveria red velvet okay this beautiful one is called lovely cute look at
those tips isn't she gorgeous so she's beautiful but she's a very dirty girl look at that all that
dry leaves so anyway so this is gonna be the last one I'm gonna be cleaning up and no crunchy
because the leaves are quite leathery because we've had 68 percent humidity so high humidity
and especially last night it rained it poured and poured and poured so even though they're inside
and dry they did not get wet from the rain still they have absorbed moisture through the air and
are now very leathery so no crunchy bits see if I do that not really very crunchy
so anyway guys that's all I've got for this video as I close off and clean up this lovely
queue I still have a lot to clean up there but I'm not gonna do that anymore because this video
is gonna be so long so it's gonna take me a long time to edit this so and I can't just put all the
footage because there's a lot of things that I've said that I want to cut out of course anyway and I
have to watch if I have footage or a video clips of say one hour and a half I have to go through
that video clip for say one hour and a half and then go through cut cut cut and then go through
it so it takes me about four days or it's going to take me four days to edit this video so anyway
that's it for now my lovelies thank you so much for watching and if I can't make a video for
Christmas I would like to greet you a merry merry merry merry Christmas upside down okay
and all the very best for the new year but if I do well have time hopefully I get to do a
Christmas tour video or end of the year video tour that way you get to see the condition
of my garden here in Canberra and then that way eventually when I start
doing some work in Wagga Wagga then I can show you the step by step
of how I'm going to do it anywho for now I bid you adieu and anyway have a safe and
happy holidays that's all I can say and all the very best for 2026
