Welcome back to JR Pro Shop vids everyone. Today we've got the brand new Rotogrip
Attention Star S2. S2 stands for sequence two, so second ball on the line from the original
Attention Star. You'll know what that ball is, it was everywhere. It was on TV almost every week,
it's in your league and tournament. That ball was super popular, especially around here.
Lots of people have it, lots of people use it. Super clean through the fronts,
very angular downwind. The brand new Attention Star here, same core, but the cover stock is
the eTrax Plus Hybrid. And it comes a little sanded here, and we're going to see what the
reaction difference is. We know this ball is going to probably hook a little earlier and be
a little smoother down lane, where the original Attention Star was really clean through the front,
really angular. So it'd be nice to see how they compare to each other. We also have an Ion Max
here to compare it to. The Ion Max is supposed to be made for fresh conditions. And then we've
got a Hybrid and a Pearl. So we should have a really good seam of balls here for this pattern.
We got 44 foot titanium, and this is where these balls are really going to shine. Asymmetrical,
a little bit more oil, and I think these balls are going to work really well on this pattern.
So that's why we picked it. All right, let's head to the lanes. All right,
so I threw a few warm-up shots on a different lane, just both league,
and then had the lanes re-oiled. And so I just kind of picked a spot. I know it's 44 feet,
I know the break point is going to be 10, 11, 12 here. And so I stood on 30,
and tried to hit 10 down lane and went right through the face. Big four, big split. So we
had to move our feet left right away. So I moved three left with my feet. Right away,
it was pretty good, started striking, and we continued on from there. So as you can see,
the colors of this ball are amazing. It rolls down the lane really well. They blend together nice,
and you can really pick up where this ball reads the lane and continues through the pins.
And right now in this fresh condition, 44 feet, I think this ball could be the ball to use.
Out of all the balls in my bag, this ball looks like it matches up pretty well. As you can see,
some of the strikes are pretty high flush. The ball's going through the pins pretty good,
at a pretty good angle, and the carry percentage is pretty high. I then went down to the ION MAX.
All right, this ball should roll earlier and have less overall boards, in my opinion,
just based on where these balls fit in the current lineups. And it definitely is earlier. You can see
it go through the pins a little straighter. Even though it was also striking, it was going through
the pins a little straighter. As you can see, this ball just doesn't have as much pop through
the pins as the ATTENTION STAR S2. So definitely a ball you got to use on the fresh conditions.
And when it labors down lane, then you got to be switching to a ball like the S2
ATTENTION STAR here. Then ball down again to the original ATTENTION STAR. Just drilled it,
same time as this, same layout, and it's really shiny, right? So you can see this ball is meant
for the drier conditions when the lanes kind of burn up in the mids and the fronts. And you can
see how angular this ball is down lane. So comparing the S2 and the original ATTENTION STAR,
a really good one-two punch. We got a sanded hybrid and then a polished pearl. So there's
enough of a difference there for you to get both balls in your bag, especially in a long pattern.
And if you're moving left, you're going to want to move left with the asymmetrical pearl. It's
going to have more pop down lane, more finish. All right, we're about halfway through the vid
here. Question time with Jungle. The ATTENTION STAR was super popular last year on tour,
especially on TV when lanes got a little drier. Guys had to move in, kind of slow hook it,
shape it down lane. So what balls do you think are going to be popular this year on tour,
right? Out of all the balls in the current lineups of all the brands, let me know down in the
comments which balls you think are going to be the most popular on tour this season. You know,
there's still a few new balls coming down the pipe, still coming out before the tour starts,
but let me know what's out right now that you think is going to be popular. All right, in my
opinion, I think the ION Pro and the FAZE AI are going to be really popular on tour. The ION Pro
is really versatile and can use it on many different conditions. And the FAZE AI is amazing
when you got to move left and slow hook it. And that's what happens out there on tour, right? So
much revs, lanes get burnt, you got to move left, you got to hook it. So FAZE AI, ION Pro, I think
those are my two picks for storm popular balls on tour next season. All right, back to the lanes.
We move five boards left, because what's a vid without Jungle moving left? All right, so this
is where, in my opinion, these balls are really put to the test. Fresh conditions, right? You can
play a little straighter, you don't have to swing the ball too much, right? You're going to have a
few balls that look pretty good in that line. But as soon as you move left, this is when the balls
that really continue through the pins down lane are really going to shine, right? As you can see,
the ATTENTION STAR S2 did that pretty well. It read the mids really well and continue through
the pins. And the carry percentage was still pretty high. We got a couple light hits there
when I missed a touch right, right? Which is to be expected, and that's what I like to see. I like it
when I miss right, ball still recovers down lane, and we get some light swisher hits and not washouts,
right? So really good mid-lane traction there. I then move down to the ION Max again, and this ball
is getting pretty smooth for moving this far left. As you can see, I threw a couple really good ones
there, and they went pretty flush through the pins. But as soon as I missed the release or missed the
hair, we were getting little weak 10s, weak 7s, and some messengers in there. So you just know that
ball doesn't really have the right shape for playing that far left on a longer pattern with
a little bit more volume. So in my opinion, ION Max, definitely for fresh, definitely for playing
a little straighter when you need that ball to really pick up in the mids and kind of smooth out,
straighten out down lane, and not be so angular. And then last but not least, the ATTENTION STAR,
moving left. This is where this ball shines, right? I don't think I can miss here with this ball on
this line. It just knows how to skate through the fronts, really pick up down lane, and just turn
left, and it enters the pins at the proper angle from that far left, which, you know, strike
percentage is huge, right? You can see it hit a couple light a couple times, high a couple times,
flush a couple times, and now moving left, the original ATTENTION STAR by far has the best
reaction. I couldn't stop striking with it, and even when the cameras are turned off, I'm still
throwing it, you know, getting some good practice and moving left, and seeing that nice ball shape
down lane, right? Because that's where all the tournaments get. All the tournaments get left
because there's just so many games, so many guys with high revs, lots of two-handers mucking
everything up, right? So you got to get left with the shiny ball and curve it. ATTENTION STAR,
that's where that ball comes in great. All right, speaking of new balls, if you need a new ball,
