Welcome back to Meaty's Organic Eats. Today we're making gingerbread biscotti.
This crispy and crunchy gingerbread biscotti is the perfect addition to your
holiday cookie boxes. With warm and cozy spices it just tastes
like Christmas. Let me show you guys how to make it.
So first we're going to preheat our oven to 350 degrees.
So I have 113 grams of softened butter in my stand mixer.
You guys want to make sure that your butter is soft before beginning this
recipe. Next we're adding in 113 grams of cane
Now you guys want to make sure you're using dark brown sugar and not light
brown sugar because we want that rich molasses flavor and dark color for
this gingerbread biscotti. If you guys don't have dark brown sugar
I'm going to link my recipe for homemade dark brown sugar in the description.
You want to make your own homemade dark brown sugar with either regular cane
sugar or light brown sugar. Next we're adding in 85 grams of black
strapped molasses and I like to weigh this right into my mixing bowl.
And then last we're adding in one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Now we're going to mix this on low until combined and there's no butter chunks.
Next we're going to add in two large eggs. Next we're going to add in our flour,
baking soda, and salt. So next we're going to add in our
gingerbread spices and now usually I do one teaspoon of cinnamon, ginger, and
cloves but if you have a gingerbread spice mix
that you like then you can use one tablespoon of your spice mix instead.
Now we're going to mix this on low until you have a stiff cookie dough.
Now it's time to form it into the cookie log. You're going to line a half tea
pan with parchment paper and now we're just going to form this cookie dough
into a log that is almost the length of the baking sheet.
Then we're going to take about two tablespoons of cane sugar and just
sprinkle it right on top of the biscotti.
Now it's time to bake your biscotti at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Then we're going to remove it from the oven and then we're going to let it rest.
It's important to let it rest this is going to ensure that it cools a little
bit just enough so you get nice clean cuts.
Then we're going to bake it again. Now we have the most delicious crispy
gingerbread biscotti. This is perfect with a big glass of milk or for dipping
in hot chocolate. If you guys enjoyed this video be sure
