Our last two days in Germany were spent in Munich, where we visited 3 Christmas markets; Marienplatz, the Medieval market and Residenz Christmas Village. We saw some of the sights; Frauenkirche (Cathedral) and went inside Neues Rathaus, the New Town Hall and went to BMW World (BMW Welt) which was a really fun experience. Click 'SHOW MORE' below

Good morning from Munich. I'm so tired
this morning. I've woken up with a
really puffy eye, but we checked into
this hotel yesterday early evening. It's
actually very nice. Um, it's a really
nice boutique hotel. And let me just
show you the view from our room because
we're kind of in the middle of nowhere.
We're not anywhere near the old town,
which is a bit of a shame. But just
there is East Munich Station, Obanoff.
We have one full day in Munich. I'm a
little bit over vlogging if I'm
completely honest. I'm so tired. Um,
this week has been really good, really
fun. We've been walking about 18,000
steps every single day. So, we started
off in Nuremberg. We're there for two
nights, three full days there. And then
we had two nights in Regensburg and now
we're in Munich. I have an apple that
I'm about to eat. Um, we're going to
head into like the center of Munich and
find somewhere for breakfast. Don't know
how far it is. And
yeah, we're going to check out some
Christmas markets and I'll just take you
with me where we go. I really need some
fresh air and need to wake up. Um, but
like I said, I love this hotel. I don't
love the location, which is a bit of a
shame,
but they gave me a complimentary apple
yesterday, so I'm kind of going to have
that for my breakfast. Look at how nice
this is. These are the stairs,
and there's like a
lounge downstairs on the first floor
with a Christmas tree.
This is the lobby. Oh, lifts here. It's
really funny because it reminds me of
being in Paris. It's so tiny. It's
barely a twoman lift.
Here we go. This apple's very tasteless,
actually.
>> Just come out for breakfast. I got a
vegan chicken bagel. Just got a smoothie
bowl, which I would have got, but it has
coconut yogurt in it. And this place is
so busy. It's clearly very popular. It's
a vegan cafe called Emy's Kitchen. We're
just walking around Valian
uh farmers market. It's really like dead
for quite a big city around here. I
don't know if it's just the places that
we've been to or if it's always like
this. So, I thought I sort of pictured
Munich to be a bit more busy.
So, I think everything here is quite
close together. We're now walking to
Marian Plats, which is the main square
in Munich. They do have a Christmas
market there, but I don't know if
that'll be open yet because obviously
it's still quite early in the morning.
Wow, look at the dramatic building. I
think that's the church or the stop the
n something rat house
come to the espresso store um at Marian
Plats because they've got a cafe up
here. Everyone has the same idea that
I've been hanging around for a while
trying to get to one of the windows to
take a photo. But u we've been here for
far too long and obviously people are
just chilling having their coffee. So
we're going to head back now. Market
we've been to um across three cities and
even within the cities. Each market
sells something really different. I
don't know what this is. We think this
is like a rattle
for kids.
Um,
>> these are little cute travel games.
>> Hungry, but that sounds so good. V
veggie grilled sandwich with grilled
zucchini, goats cheese, homemade
barbecue sauce, tomato, and ruler, which
I think is rocket.
So, we just followed a bunch of people
in through for an open door. We're
inside the rat house, I think. And we
just climbed a really steep staircase. I
think we're about halfway up. I don't
know how high up the tower goes. Maybe
two, three more floors. I don't know if
this is the tower for the views. And now
I've lost your ass. It's a bit creepy.
So, we're here.
We came in through that door. And this
is the tower that we were climbing.
You won't be able to see it just on the
right there. We've just been shown the
exit because apparently they're now
closing. But this is the newest rat
house which is the new town hall. It's
really beautiful, but it's absolutely
massive.
Okay.
It's now properly dark. It's nighttime,
but we've just got to Odon's Plats. This
really reminds me of Berlin where
Brandenburg Gate is. It looks like the
same road. Like the road looks the same.
Um but the palace is just behind this
man playing music here.
So, there's meant to be a Christmas
market on here.
Doesn't sound like one. This is also a
palace, but unlike the one we visited in
Regansburg, I don't think anybody lives
here, so they don't charge an entrance
fee. But so far, that is still the best
Christmas market we've been to. The one
we had to pay to get into.
You mean it's supposed to be around
here?
>> I think so. This looks like it's the
palace. I should probably look at my
Google maps, but bless you.
God, we're so confused. We walked past
the palace and back again to come
inside. It's not really a palace, I
don't think. It's called Munich uh
residence. But where the hell is the
market?
It's meant to be. Yeah. Go on then. Just
gone to ask. I'm just going straight
through
to see if I see anything.
This is the right way. So, you come in
here. I was so confused as Oh, is this
where you buy tickets?
>> Well, this is free to me.
>> I'm so confused.
Okay, so it's in through here. What is
happening?
I think they're searching bags like the
last one. Actually,
>> this toilet is free. Oh, these the
toilets, right?
>> Oh, so you walk through here.
>> Oh, that's one for toilets.
>> Yeah, you have to stay here for a
couple.
>> Okay, here we go. This was hard to find.
>> Bloody hell. I was like, uh, are we the
only people here?
>> That's what everyone's here. This meant
to be the quiet version.
>> Wow.
>> Is a Friday night, though.
Okay, so this is a small Christmas
market and it's said to be quite a
traditional one, but it also said it's
very quiet. So, this isn't quiet.
food here than people actually selling
things though. And some of the food
smells really good, but I haven't seen
anything veggie yet. Are we walking
around like um clockwise? Yeah. Oh,
there's people up there in the windows.
One of the busiest.
>> Oh, it is the busiest. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
I've just been googling what some of the
stuff is. So on the left that cas
casputson is a German mac and cheese
with it's like noodles, cheese and
caramelized onions. And on the right
it's corn on the cob. Oh, let's hope
it's vegetarian cuz it doesn't say. But
the key is quite long which is always a
good sign. That should be €10, J. So
it's six for the mac and cheese and four
for the corn on the cob. We should share
it, right?
Took a bite of this on camera but on my
phone and it is so good. The only thing
that's missing in my opinion is Tabasco.
Mac and cheese always needs a bit of
spice. Can I try some?
>> Yeah, let me try it. Hold on.
>> Yeah, I got this.
>> I love cold so much.
>> That's nice.
>> It needs your mouth go right. It needs a
bit of spice. Yeah. One of the most
unique things I've ever seen at a
Christmas market. I was I'm pretty sure
that says chocolate. I don't know how
good my German is.
>> It's literally It says lactose and
gluten-free. Some of them are vegan. The
lights are flashing here. I'm not sure
why, but sorry. Uh,
thank you. Look at this. This is
literally made out of chocolate. It's a
camera.
>> This is incredible. There's a cheese
grater, pasta, pasta spoon.
>> Oh my god, this is quite literally the
most unique thing I've ever seen.
>> Yeah, but you have to take it out.
>> That mac and cheese was good, but I feel
like all I've eaten is carbs. The corn
on the cob was I swear down like the
best thing I've eaten at all of the
Christmas markets combined. I love it so
much. Um, we've left this market. I
wasn't really feeling it. It's just so
busy. It's It's literally the worst
market we've been to. People were
nudging me out the way like as I was
trying to film and because
What's happening in here?
Um,
okay. Because everyone is at least a
foot or two taller than me, they just
don't see me when they turn around. I'm
not in their ey line. They're looking up
there. They just walk straight into me
and I'm like, "Hello." Anyway,
I don't know if we're going to go back
to Marian Plats,
which there was one vegan brat worst
there that I didn't try, but I don't
think I can eat any more food to be
honest, and that was half a meter long.
But, um, should we head back to the
hotel, watch a Christmas movie?
>> Yep. Last night we discovered that
somebody the whoever last aided in that
room has signed into their Netflix on
the TV and we watched Charlie in the
Chocolate Factory. I was hoping to fall
asleep to it but I didn't.
>> Anyway, we're going to head back uh to
the hotel and today is our last full day
in Germany. We've done 14,000 steps
today. Not as much as the other days,
but you know, changed our mind. And I
saw on my maps that I pinned another
Christmas market here. I don't know
what's going on with my maps, though. It
keeps changing all the English into
German. So, I don't actually know what
this one is called. Uh, starts with a W.
Okay, this one's smaller. I like the
smaller, quieter ones.
>> Definitely be quiet.
>> Oh, there's an ATM here as well.
>> Oh, that one's going to gone from this
one cuz one, I reckon.
>> Yeah, I think so. But it's nice because
you can actually browse in peace.
I like the smaller huts though and there
is a bit more of an open space.
>> Oh, look. Oh, is this the medieval one?
>> Oh, yeah. I reckon
>> there was one that I pinned that was a
medieval market. Oh, this one's really
cool.
>> Yeah. Look at the hut. They're all
different. Back what I said. This market
is also super busy. It's clearly just a
Friday night thing.
Here we go.
Oh, everyone's so tall. I can't see
anything.
Morning. It's our last morning in Munich
today and I'm actually quite happy to be
going home. I'm a little bit over
Christmas market. We've just checked out
of the hotel. We've got a few hours to
kill. We had a very relaxing morning
just basically buming around because our
flight is quite late at night. But we
need to go from here to central Munich,
then get another train back to
Nuremberg, then from there go to the
airport,
hang around for 2 hours, fly home, then
have like a 2hour drive home. It's going
to be a long day. Um, but it's a shame
we couldn't get a flight out of Munich
because it was far too expensive. And
also, Ryan and I don't fly from here
anymore to Stanstead. Um, we're going
out for I guess this is now lunch. I
don't really know what meal this is, but
it's breakfast for us. And I'm not sure
what we're doing today because we're all
a bit Christmas marketed out. Okay. I
don't know how I feel about this, but
this is Menamon. It's a bit runnier than
I thought it would be. and you eat it
with bread. Jas's got these um luma
which are like he said they're savory
but they're fried bread like donuts and
then there's a choice of fillings.
There's Nutella. There's a um which is
going to be quite nice. There's cheese,
marmalade, jam, and I don't know what
the yogurty one is.
It's a gray day today. We've just come
out to uh BMW Welt, which is BMW World.
And Google Maps is telling me to go that
way, but I'm pretty sure it's this way.
I'm pretty sure this is it. There's um
BMW World, which is called BMW Welt,
which you don't have to pay to enter.
And there's a BMW museum that you do
have to pay to enter, but we don't care
enough. Seems like everyone is headed
this way.
So cold. My ears are cold.
Dad would love that Mini Cooper. That
old like style is his dream car.
Can we go for a test drive on an auto
barn? How cool would that be? So, Jess,
you know, you keep asking me what I want
for Christmas. I'm going to um give you
a clue. Right. We're headed that
direction now. Can you see?
>> Coffee.
>> Not coffee.
>> I can buy my own coffee. Can't buy my
own Rolls-Royce.
What's this?
>> So, this lady just asked if we want to
do a treasure hunt, and you have to find
four QR codes. I think I found one on
the rear view window of this car. I
personally would not be asked to do
this, but just wants to do it,
obviously.
>> Oh, it's doing something.
>> Yeah, it's found something. Here we go.
Heritage.
>> Heritage.
Okay, I'll be the person that helps you
find them. That's not it. I asked her.
She said that's just for more
information.
>> No.
>> Told you.
>> There's four, but it's just on this area
where it's a white floor.
>> Okay. Find it. Find it.
>> Here's another one.
I'll find you. Here's one.
Oh, can't see on camera.
One more to go.
>> Here. Did you get this one?
>> No. Same one, is it?
>> Oh, I don't know.
>> Oh, yeah. It says great job. Nice.
>> To activate your voucher, we just need a
few details. Of course, they do.
>> Here we are. I'm from
>> found the car that I want for Christmas.
This is so nice. I wouldn't ordinarily
like this color, but obviously this car
is just a little bit special. And
conveniently, I've now lost Jess. Jess,
what do you think?
>> This is the car I'd like for Christmas.
I really like the burnt orange like
leather seats as well.
I'm sure there's an actual name for
them, but you know,
this is quite cool. I think you are
supposed to download an app for it,
though.
Tried to catch that ball, but didn't go.
Oh, you would be standing. You should
have stand in the middle. You meant you
meant to go back in the middle.
You
>> really
Oh, yeah. That's true.
Oh, that's cool. That is
>> do some spin around. Do jumping or
something.
>> That's it. Yeah.
>> Maybe that determines what kind of car
you get.
>> Oh, wow.
>> Yeah.
>> My last one. That is a nice
>> I don't know if I showed you, but this
is the little box box box of chocolates
that just won.
>> We're just leaving BMW World. It was
really good actually. It was really like
quite interactive and interesting. So,
you don't need to like massively be into
cars because I'm not. I'm just an ex BMW
driver of many years that has downgraded
in the past few years. Um, and I really
like BMWs, but I don't know if I like
them enough to have another one. Anyway,
I'm just not like massively into cars.
But this was really cool. They had like
some interactivity bits. Maybe don't do
the little quiz for a tiny box of
chocolates. But yeah, I highly recommend
it if you're looking for something to do
in Munich outside of the Christmas
markets. We're now about to jump on the
train and head back to our hotel to get
our luggage to head back to Nuremberg to
then fly home in about 6 hours. Anyway,
I'm going to end this video here. Thank
you so much for watching. Oh, right.
Yeah. And I will see you in the next
one. I don't even know where that will
be. Thanks for watching.
Right.
