Very brief, four wide here tonight at Avalon Raceway. Front straightaway, your turn,
into turn one. You've been great all night up there, great to have so many of you here. Put
your hands together, make some noise for your A Mainfield. Dimmons, outstanding qualifying run
for him, out of position. Number six, Coby Noonan and Sam Wren, likewise we go green.
Oliver's around, Wren's involved, we've got plenty involved in this one.
Wren went in, Potting's in. Comfortable at the wheel of the 91 car and unfortunately being
caught up in that little scuffle, if you will. Looks like Matty Simmons's 70 might be the first
one. That's at home and unfortunately when you've got a full field like this, full car of fuel,
turn one and two, unfortunately just come a little bit unstuck there for James Oliver and just caused
that concertina effect that we talked about. If you've got one car that's just turning a little
bit harder on an angle and you've got 10 to 15 cars right behind it. Time beside him as we go
green, one more time. Milburn, quickly to the lead, like a shot from a gun up the inside,
washes back one, two, three, four, five spots potentially. Milburn, your race leader as they
go by the flag stand the first time. Steven Loader into P2. Jake Smith locked down, tries to get by,
he does. Sweeps to the inside that time on Loader. He finds himself in the second spot. Loader to P3,
Geordie Ray in P4. There's Kobe Noonan rounding out your top five. Hayden Pinn, here comes the
young gun O'Shannessy. He finds himself in position seven. Rogerson, further back to
Tancredi, McDonnell, Newcomb. They're all there fighting for those last spots but it's Fred
Milburn out in front. Got a 20 car length break in the early going of this 25 lap feature event.
Now trying to find a different postcode to this battle for second and third. Ray in the fourth
spot. Jake and Kobe Noonan rounds out five. What about the talent we've got on display. Smith to
the outside, to the outside of Loader, almost shuts the door. Jake Smith moves up one spot on the exit
out of turn four. Here we go. Has Jake Smith got something to go after Milburn? Milburn's upstairs
on the back straight now. That's your leader. Lap traffic will play a part in the next lap or two.
Brett the Jet Milburn. You don't get the nickname Jet for no reason. He's out in the iDig at Victoria
number 68 right here tonight at Avalon Raceway. The battle for second and third is on. Loader to
the inside. Smith to the outside. They drag race down the back straight. Smith, that's the battle
for second and third on the exit out of turn four. Loader to the inside. Smith to the outside. Geordie
Ray's there. He'd hop to shoot the Victoria number nine. He's just behind Smith. Slides up on the
outside groove. Smith, momentum's his friend. He's continuing on. 16 laps remaining in this one.
Smith, the magnet towing number 10. Can't shut the door on Smith. Yes he can. Two lines, two distinct
lines in operation between second and third right now. It's Loader just ahead of Smith.
Covey Noonan's in fifth. A battle for sixth and seventh between Covey O'Shaughnessy
and Hayden Pinn now. Then you go further back to Thomas McDonald who finds himself in position
number eight. Michael Tancredi and Zach Rogerson rounds out your top 10. Your race leader though,
Brett Milburn gets by the flags down this time with 12 to run. He's got a lap car. Stephen Horton
between he and the second place runner. He gets a nice run out of turn four and onto the straight
away with 10 to run. Milburn got that top wing. Tucked all the way back on the back straight.
That's your leader in the turn three right now. Got a comfortable lead. Here comes Jordie Ray.
Here comes Ray on Loader. Second and third right now battling the one and two. Ray to the outside
groove. Loader's going to have a back marker in front of him. Can he hold on to that Victoria
number 10? He's going after a nine. It's nine and ten for two and three right now. Your leader
into one. About to exit out of turn two on the high groove. It's three wide and oh Loader just
got held up right there and allows Jordie Ray to come on through. Is there enough laps left
for the local from Bannockburn right here in Geelong. Clock down to five laps remaining. I like
the way you learn your craft Jake Morel. You're not writing anybody off this week compared to
Jamie Veal last week as Brett Milburn all of a sudden he's got a pair of lap cars ahead of him.
Our C main and B main transferee right ahead of him carrying some decent car speed. Jordie Ray's
able to close the gap ever so slightly. Milburn goes to the top. Ray to the bottom. Stephen Loader
still in the third spot. Milburn upstairs through three and four one more time. They're nearly side
by side as they come onto the front straightaway. They've got a race for the lead. They pull in
behind the lap car of the 87 machine. Here's Jordie Ray for the late lead. Does it nicely
with the drive out of turn two. That's been the preferred groove of a lot of drivers tonight.
He gets the job done quickly. Opens up a little break over the now second place Brett Milburn.
Boy oh boy. Lap and a half to run for Jordie Ray in a welcome return to form here at Avalon Raceway.
Can he hang on? White flag out. One to run for your race leader Jordan Ray. Brett Milburn still
in the second spot. Stephen Loader's in third. Ray's on the back shoot for the final time.
Keep an eye on it. Keep an eye on who finishes 18th Jake. It could be anyone in that wreck.
Jordie Ray though will take the win with thanks to Quest Geelong Central on Christmas spectacular
night here at Avalon Raceway. Brett Milburn gets second just from Stephen Loader. He'll get
upstairs. Come on everybody put your hands together for Jordan Ray. He's absolutely massacred the
chequered flag up there as well in his excitement. Great to see some emotion from Jordan Ray.
Yeah mate I was uh spewing under the first red flag there they cut five laps off us and I'm like
oh I need all the laps I can get and um I would have been pissed off if we were coming at Brett
and we were short that five laps but hats off to the boys. Caleb, Paul Solomon, mum, dad, just
Shannon, everybody helped out tonight. Um Josh, another Josh, um just everyone helped out. We had
a bull of a race car and just um the tyres still look good on it so that means we'll be able to
run next weekend at Simpson. Sounds like a plan mate. Congratulations on this performance just a
welcome return to form I think and a great confidence boost for you for the rest of the
season. Yeah it's just good to be back in in a spring car I think and um it's really cool to do
with my parents and yeah it's awesome so thanks thanks to Dirt X, to Car Wash in Detail and Ray
Bill just everyone helped out. And you owe us a new chequered flag. Yeah um I'll talk to Julie's
about that sorry mate. Good job Jordan Ray there. Bang your hands together folks one more time.
