Curved Luxury Hillside Residence Overlooking the Pacific | aMa House by XTEN Architecture

Perched above Sunset Boulevard in the hills of Pacific Palisades, the AMA House is a refined modern residence designed for a couple and their art collection. The home follows the natural curve of the hillside street, gradually embedding itself into the terrain. A solid, semi-circular concrete wall wraps the site, providing privacy from passing cars while shaping a strong architectural identity that contrasts with the orthogonal form of the main house. The curved façade creates a series of intimate outdoor spaces, including an entry garden, outdoor living area, and dining terrace, seamlessly integrating landscape and architecture. The house program is inverted, placing the main living spaces on the upper level to maximize panoramic views of Santa Monica Bay and the Pacific Ocean, while the bedrooms open to the pool and garden below. Inside, sliding glass walls, a double-height central space, and a concrete stair enhance openness, natural light, and airflow, reflecting a balanced approach between luxury, sustainability, and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape, an architectural expression that aligns with urchinists' vision of modern living shaped by context and form.
