The first spin I'm going to show you is called a pump spin.
Start with your heels together and create a c-shape bringing toe to toe
and a backward c-shape bringing heel to heel.
This makes a full circle.
Make sure to shift your weight as you bend your knees.
One leg takes the weight while the other moves and the standing leg alternates.
Weight is also pressed on the inside wheels of the moving leg.
Pumping of the knees is really important to create the momentum we need.
Work on increasing your speed as you go so that you can move both feet at the same time.
The second spin I'm going to show you is called the heel toe spin.
Start by practicing your heel toe manuals.
Work on holding the heel toe manual for as long as possible.
The longer you can hold it, the better your spin will be.
Swing your shoulders and arms to get the spin going.
Also, start from a bent knee position so you can push off.
And here are some of the ways you can hold your arms as you're spinning.
When you feel confident holding the heel toe manual,
you can start swinging into a heel toe manual and taking quarter turns
followed by half turns once you feel comfortable with quarter turns
followed by a full turn once you feel comfortable with half turns.
In order to increase your spins, you have to keep adding to them.
This takes time to develop, not to mention practice and consistency.
Try to keep the back and front wheels in a straight line for this spin.
Something to avoid as you spin is flaring out your toes.
You want to try to keep your toes inwards or parallel as much as you can.
The third spin I'm going to show you is a toe spin.
For the toe spin, practice holding your toe manual.
Just like the heel toe spin, we're going to start with quarter turns,
half turns, full turns until we can graduate to one and a quarter,
one and a half, two turns, and so on and so forth.
Remember, the trick to building up your spins is practice and repetition.
Don't forget to take breaks when you start to get dizzy.
Here's the fun part. You can combine these spins too.
Here's a pump spin into a heel toe spin.
