Hi guys, this is Hailey. It's been a while since I made a full makeup tutorial.
As you saw from the title, I'm going to show you a makeup look with only using Korean products.
Speaking of K-beauty, you may have heard of Korean skincare or the fact that Korean
skincare is way ahead of everywhere with gentle or highly effective ingredients.
Thanks to the popularization of Korean culture, K-beauty has been receiving a lot of love as well.
I feel proud of it and happy that K-beauty is becoming more mature in the global market,
not just a fad. But as a Korean who learned makeup in South Korea,
I believe Korean makeup, not just Korean skincare, needs more attention.
Because Korean makeup is not just about making your skin look lighter,
but I would say it is all about everything in detail.
So all techniques and products we use all come together for a sophisticated look.
The makeup look I'm going to create is inspired by the Clean Girl makeup look,
which emphasizes skin-first beauty but in a Korean way.
So to introduce Korean makeup and techniques, I've teamed up with Olive Young,
which is a major beauty retailer in South Korea.
This video is kindly sponsored by Olive Young,
and all the products I'll be using can be purchased on the Olive Young global website.
So if you are interested in trying the products I'm going to use,
please check the description box for more information on benefits
for downloading the Olive Young app and on sales.
For foundation, I'm going to use a cushion foundation,
which is a liquid formula housed in a compact and is invented in South Korea.
This product is from the brand Jungsaemmool, which is actually the founder's real name,
who is also an iconic makeup artist in South Korea.
I specifically learned a new technique from the makeup artist Jungsaemmool,
so I will now show you how to apply it correctly.
The most important thing is to not to place it directly onto your face.
Make sure to adjust the amount of product on the skin-like palette on the side before applying it.
This helps to get the adequate amount of product for a more natural look.
Personally, I only apply it on the center of my face
because I do not feel that I need foundation covering my entire face.
This cushion foundation has a unique lightweight formula that provides decent coverage.
So as long as you use the right amount, you can achieve that my skin but better type of look.
Moving on to eyeshadow, I'll be using this palette from Romand.
This is also a very popular Korean makeup brand that is especially known for
their high quality and affordable products.
I noticed that most Korean eyeshadow palettes have neutral color payoff.
To create a clean base for my eye makeup look,
I will first take a light ivory color from the palette
and apply it all over my lids for a better color payoff.
Next, I will take a light brown shade and add a light shadow over my lids for a deeper look.
With a smooth and satin formula,
this eyeshadow glides effortlessly on your lids without leaving any edge.
My favorite look is drawing a winged eyeliner
with a deep brown eyeshadow by using a small flat eyeshadow brush.
This technique is great if you are hesitant to draw wings with actual eyeliner
as it's easy to wipe it off with a cotton bud if you make a mistake.
After curling my lashes, I'll be using eyeliner to add more dimension onto my eyes.
I specifically recommend this eyeliner because it glides smoothly onto my skin,
making it easier to draw with.
I personally think K-beauty emphasizes brown for eyeshadow,
eyeliners, and mascara due to softer coloring.
Today, I want to add a bit more definition to my eye makeup look,
but still make it seem natural.
So I'll be using this deep brown shade with a hint of pearl in it.
My eyes are deep brown, so whenever I use brown eyeliner,
it always complements my eyes.
For mascara, I'm going to use a brown mascara from BASIC,
which is also famous in Korea.
This brown is particularly lighter than the eyeliner color.
In contrast to Korean mascara, Western mascara ones are typically bigger.
To make this look even more natural,
I like applying a bit of product on paper towels and then wiggling it onto my lashes.
Not only does this create a natural lash look,
it also prevents them from getting clumpy.
What I love about this product is that it allows me to lengthen my lashes,
but in a natural way.
Following the theme of achieving a soft brown look,
I would also like to soften my eyebrows,
which are naturally thick and dark.
If your eyebrows are black and already have defined shapes,
it may be hard to create a soft brow look.
However, you can add some softness to your brows
by filling it with brown, which is the key in KBB.
Next, I'm going to draw some fake brow hairs.
This brow pencil helps apply the perfect amount of pigmentation
to achieve a natural brow look that does not add too much or too little.
Even drawing a line with this product would not look too obvious,
so I love using this brow pencil.
The makeup look I'm intending to make
is inspired by the Klingle makeup look,
so I will now create a fluffy brow by using this Jung Saem Mool Artist Brow Pomade.
This is not a product that intensifies your look,
but it accentuates your natural brow shape.
For blush, I'm going to use a tint as a blush.
Most of liquid lipsticks from Western brands do not normally stain,
but most of tints from Korean beauty brands do.
They are richer in color and provide long-lasting wear with a lightweight finish.
Today, I like to use it as a blush for a long-lasting blush look.
If you find that the color is too intense to apply onto your cheek,
you can neutralize it with adding a bit of foundation.
I chose the fuchsia pink color to get that healthy blush look on my cheek.
Today, instead of bronzing, I'll be contouring.
If you don't know the difference between contouring and bronzing,
I would highly encourage you to watch this video to learn more about it.
This contour palette is perfect for creating natural shadows
if you have a similar skin tone as me.
How I apply this product is towards the outside of my face and temples,
and move to the front cheek with a swiping motion.
This helps make it look very natural as it's not too obvious.
Moving on to the lipstick, I'm going to use another tint again.
As you can see, it is also highly pigmented with a matte finish.
First, I'm going to apply a bit of product onto my lips
and blend with my fingertips for a more natural and blurry lipstick look.
So this is my final clean girl makeup look with using all Korean makeup products.
I hope you enjoy and find it very helpful to understand about Korean makeup.
Korean beauty or Korean makeup is not about just cute packaging anymore,
but more about everything in detail.
So you could easily create that less is more look too.
Or this kind of clean girl natural makeup look.
Please let me know if you have experience of Korean makeup
or if there's any of your favorite.
I'd like to know about that.
Thank you so much for watching.
I will see you in the next one.
Bye!
