Xiinping is vowing to take Taiwan. Lines
are being drawn for World War III. And
did Russia make China an offer it can't
refuse? And more on this week's China
news headlines.
Welcome to China uncensored. I'm Chris
Chapel. Well, looks like the world is
gearing up for World War II. Before I
get into that, let me tell you about a
personal war I'm fighting with YouTube.
Seems they don't like channels warning
people about an impending war with
China. Benny the Cat says, "Dude, it's
been over a year since I got a video
from you in the suggestions. WTF is
going on with YouTube's algorithm." Josh
Rockwell Chem also says, "Today is the
first time in over a year YouTube has
suggested a video from your channel."
And Maximus says, "This is the first
video I've seen of yours in 3 years.
YouTube is financially strangling the
channel and it's working. I've had to
reduce the number of episodes I make on
my other show, America Uncovered,
because I don't want to make cuts to
China Uncensored. So, I really need your
help. Join what I call the China
Uncensored 50 C army over on my website,
chinaunensored.tv.
We've got a thriving community there
with exclusive live streams and episodes
because I really love you guys. Again,
that's chinaunensored.tv. The link is
also below. Without your help, YouTube
is going to deliver a massive win to the
CCP and end China Uncensored, which
could be bad because we're seriously
barreling towards World War II right
now. Let's start with Japan. In the face
of China's increasingly insane rhetoric
towards the island nation, Japan's
cabinet has oaed a record defense budget
aimed at deterring China, which, yeah,
is probably a good idea. The budget is
worth $58 billion for the coming year
and will be focused on fortifying
Japan's capability to strike back at an
enemy along with shoring up coastal
defenses with cruise missiles and
unmanned systems. In fact, some reports
suggest that Tokyo is looking to
purchase drones from Israel or Turkey
and maybe even Ukraine. At this point, I
wouldn't be surprised if they also hire
Kevin Mallister to set up booby traps
for them. The Japanese defense minister
says that his country is determined to
protect its people and remains a
peaceful nation, but that the budget is
the minimum needed as Japan faces the
severest and most complex security
environment in the post-war era. Because
yes, the lines are being drawn for World
War II. In an interview with the
country's TAS news agency, Russia's
foreign minister has signaled that
Russia would support China if war broke
out over Taiwan. He cited the 2001
treaty of good neighborliness between
the two countries, saying, "One of the
basic principles laid down in this
document is mutual support in matters of
protecting state unity and territorial
integrity. Not that either Russia or
China know much about respecting
territorial integrity or being good
neighbors for that matter." In addition,
just for good measure, he criticized
Japan's recent increase to military
spending and slipped in a loosely veiled
threat towards Japan, saying, "Our
Japanese neighbors should have weighted
everything properly before taking any
hasty decisions because Japan's prime
minister saying some words about
national self-defense. That's
unacceptable." But China testing the
hypersonic YJ20 anti-hship missile
during their largest live fire drill
yet, no problem. Russia just threw what
little was left of their credibility out
the window along with anyone who had a
minor disagreement with Putin. And if
you think I was being hyperbolic about
World War II, here's Xi Jinping's New
Year's address. Compatrates on both
sides of the Taiwan Strait are bound by
blood ties thicker than water, and the
historical trend toward national
reunification is unstoppable.
>> Unstoppable.
This comes right after China just
finished its endofear justice mission
2025 live fire drills with the largest
drill areas around Taiwan to date. The
PLA framed this as a response to
increasing US military aid to the
island. But let's face it, it was really
just an excuse for the CCP to put out
more aggressive posters and propaganda,
including this one titled Clearly
Visible, showing satellite images of
Taiwanese military infrastructure that
says, "How could you ever attempt
independence?" Subtle. In response,
Taiwan has urged China to act
responsibly, while its Ministry of
Defense said the Taiwanese military set
up an emergency response center and is
conducting immediate combat readiness
exercises, which is a good idea since
asking China to act responsibly is like
asking a rook to move diagonally. That's
a chess reference. It's not all Pokemon
and Gilmore Girls. I'm sophisticated.
China is preparing the hardware for the
unstoppable conquest of Taiwan. The
Pentagon has reported that the CCP wants
nine aircraft carriers, six more than
its current three, by 2035.
So far, only the US has more aircraft
carriers than China. But work began in
2025 on China's newest aircraft carrier,
the Type4,
which doesn't sound nearly as cool as
the Type 007, which in rocky waters is
shaken, not stirred. But China has by
far surpassed the US ability to build
new ships. And it's believed that the
PLN wants to produce nuclearpowered
carriers as well. All of which would be
very bad news for the Indoacific because
it turned those aggressions from a
dumpster fire into a nuclear dumpster
fire. But while at least on the surface,
Russia and China are putting on a united
front for a war over Taiwan, it's not
all good vibes between China and Russia.
You see, Russia is having a little
problem selling its oil as China and
India are refusing to unload Russian oil
from tankers with at least 20 piling up
out at sea. A lot of this has to do with
various sanctions from the US because go
figure, sanctions work. And probably
partially because of this situation,
small Chinese refineries known as teapot
refineries have been snapping up Russian
crude at the deepest discounts of 2025.
You know your war is going well when
you're now selling off assets like a
mattress store that's been going out of
business for 3 years. Some small Indian
refineries are also buying Russian oil,
especially from companies that haven't
yet been sanctioned. But it's pretty
clear that things have taken a drastic
turn here. But don't worry, Russia. I'm
sure Europe will be more than happy to
keep taking your oil while criticizing
the US for not doing enough to help
Ukraine. You might remember the case of
Jimmy Lie, whom I've reported on
previously. The pro-democracy activist
and media tycoon from Hong Kong was
arrested back in December 2020, and the
CCP has ignored Western appeals for his
release, including a recent one by
President Trump. At this point, we're
going to have to send in Moses to say,
"Let lie people go." Well, Li's
daughter, Claire, who lives in London,
says that her father's teeth are rotting
and fingernails are falling off. Now,
obviously, China has said that Jimmy Lie
is in perfect health and is being kept
in humane conditions, which is the joke
of the year, literally since the year is
so young. Speaking of the youngsters,
parents in China are now using
artificial intelligence to monitor their
kids' homework. According to Chinese
statistics platform Quest Mobile, around
172 million people per month use an AI
chat box called Dola, developed by Bite
Dance. Yeah. the same company
responsible for Tik Tok. The chatbot has
a voice, can act like a tutor, and
monitors homework. Chinese parents are
using Dola to encourage their children
to work faster and stop slouching, among
other things. It's like Rosie from the
Jetsons, but instead of cleaning, it
helicopter parents so you don't have to.
But on top of that, and amid the
country's economic slowdown, Dola is
starting to replace the more traditional
and expensive tutoring services once
used by these families that the CCP
completely cracked down on. According to
a parent interviewed by ABC, parents are
anxious about spending heavily only to
end up with a rotten tail kid, which is
a term that refers to the educated
victims of China's record youth
unemployment rate. So, if anything, the
CCP should be the ones getting called
Rotten Tailed. That name feels a little
victim blamy, doesn't it? The app lets
parents download study materials
tailored to the child's needs and can
also check homework, explain why an
answer might not be right, and generate
similar questions based on anything
that's incorrect. Though, I wonder what
it would have to say about certain
things that didn't happen in Tienman
Square in 1989. And remember, YouTube is
actively trying to kill the show.
