Okay, we're out in nature today. Got a little hill to go down
and then we're gonna go to this really cool nature trail that I found.
Honestly, the most beautiful spot I've found in Wisconsin, so far at least.
And I'm just gonna talk about some random stuff and then it leads to this
crazy like hay field where it's super well kept.
It's just, it's a spot I gotta show you. Yeah, we're gonna head down right now.
I'm curious if you can hear me right now. I fixed my mic.
It's connected to my phone now. I'm gonna try the,
this tucking version. If I was going down a really like,
one of those pro level hills you see in like Switzerland,
I would be probably holding the stick like that behind you in a tuck.
That's, that's just what I see some dudes do. I've been thinking
like why is longboarding, downhill longboarding so much more
fun to watch than inline skating? Inline skating just
feels boring after watching what some of these guys
are doing on their longboards. And I think
part of it's just like the, the driftiness and like there's more
movement. I don't, I don't really know but skates,
a little off-roading. Skates, there's not a whole lot of movement.
You know, you're sliding like that. When longboarding, you know, you got two
sides and sometimes you can do a 180,
which that's all stuff you can do on inline skates but it
just doesn't look the same, doesn't give the same feel.
I watched this video of this guy doing the sketchiest downhill I've ever seen,
I've ever seen anyone do. I'll put a link in the
description in case you haven't watched it because it's got like
a lot of views but he had wet spots, narrow,
cars, dogs getting in his way and he wasn't, he wasn't playing it safe.
He was doing stand-up slides, just like risking it all, going very fast
and he went in a different one of his videos,
went over 70 on a highway so he's passing other cars.
So I have a long ways to go when it comes to downhilling but my
parents are getting me a downhill
actual aero helmet, which I know it's a little early because I'm not
really good enough for all that. But, you know, parents are always
concerned for the safety of their children but it's
this helmet, the TSG technical safety gear, this
helmet. It looks sick, it was on sale,
kind of, but yeah they're so expensive. I'll only use it when I'm going for
like a top speed new record, kind of like the other video I made,
just going down that hill with the speed tracking. I'd wear it then,
probably not if I plan on doing slides, pretty much
only if I'm gonna go over 30 miles an hour I'll wear it.
Yeah, if you crash one time and you hit your head you have to replace
it, which I know like it's worth it obviously if
you hit your head, but can't be doing all that. I don't plan
on doing any crazy hills or crashing either.
Oh yeah, intro, I added one for any returning viewers. Let me know what
you think of it. Yeah, I decided to remake it and start
using it because I hit a thousand subscribers. Thank you
all for investing in this channel. It will be
the number one inline skating channel someday, I
promise, because honestly none of them are doing
it quite right.
None of them are making the content I think that needs to be made
for this kind of skating. There's a very wide variety of
types of videos you can make and people make very narrow videos about
it, but anyways, I was trying to learn how to
stair bash backwards. Literally like yesterday and
the day before my confidence was way too high.
Okay, I can stair bash forward decently well. It's like
semi-consistent, so I thought I could learn to do it backwards.
I hear it's easier and just like anatomically
it is going to be easier to learn just because
your toes can flex more, but I don't know if it was my skates
because I'm learning on tri-skates 90 millimeters.
There's really large gaps between each of my wheels.
Not quite sure how big of a difference that makes, but it's having a really hard
time. My front leg, this like not the actual
hamstring itself, but like this cord right here underneath your knee,
it's getting really sore and I was just about to start recording a video
and which this is a popular area. It's on the college campus.
All right, look how beautiful this place is though. All the trees
and super well kept, really smooth. Yeah, so this the staircase is on the
college campus, so there's students kind of just around
which I've gotten comfortable enough like filming in front of people to an
extent, but I sort of was getting the hang of it.
I was able to guide myself down using a hand rail to go down backwards
and then this dude, I guess like an Uber, Uber Eats or yeah DoorDash maybe
was going to deliver food and he asked me if I speak Spanish.
Hablas espanol? And I kind of froze. I was like uh, si, muy poquito.
Because I do speak a tiny bit, but like it's all just from high school.
And he asked me a couple questions on like where location is, where to
drop his food off. Didn't understand anything, but he
showed me a picture and I was able to help him.
But if I said no, that I don't speak Spanish,
I probably wouldn't have ended up helping him. So me knowing a little bit
of Spanish still ended up resulting in me helping him.
So I counted and I did say a little bit. I
said uno momento while I was thinking and then
I said um, yeah that might be it honestly.
I said de nada after he thanked me, which is just you're welcome.
So I do know how to conjugate verbs though. I can speak a little bit.
Okay, I've been practicing my my wheelings.
Okay, yeah don't expect too much while I'm
holding the camera. Okay, they're better than this I promise.
Okay, that was pretty good one. Well, I really do think they help with
skateboarding too. I've been working on skateboarding manuals
and it's the same thing. Finding that balance point and just trying to recover
and maintain it. Okay, where are we? Okay,
we're nearing that spot I told you about. Probably like a minute
or two away. Yeah, if any of you guys are solely just
inline skaters, you are missing out. I mean like seriously, I tell this also
to just longboarders. You got to do both. At
least try them. Like they're different
and you're going to be missing out if you're only doing one.
I know it's tough to like spread yourself thinner but
I plan on doing board stuff because going down a hill on a longboard feels
different. It feels amazing. In skateboard tricks, I'm like,
I haven't been this excited about a skating skill or trick in a long time
but I'm about to land a heel flip. I'm very close
and it's just different. I know like it's rough on your body and
some of your different ages but
I strongly urge you to get on at least some kind of board
and inline skates and it will definitely be worth it.
Oh my gosh, the cold's kind of getting to me.
It's like I can feel it in my nose and my
my lungs. It's like 33 degrees. I have a thermal like one of those long
sleeve shirts you see like NFL players wear
one of those and leggings. Yeah, I know I got leggings on. So it
looks like I just have a normal outfit on but
decently warm underneath. It's going to be a high of
26 degrees in a couple days so we're gonna see how that is see just
how much I can handle but uh yeah ski mask is doing me
doing me well and honestly I did not need a helmet for this video
but I'm just too cold not to wear a helmet around.
I kid you not like when I first saw this place
I was not planning on stopping but I had to just like
pull over and see what was up here. I was freezing. I didn't bring proper
clothes to skate because I was kind of just scouting but
like I needed to see it and I exclaimed, said out loud to no one
I was like holy cow it feels like I'm in an
anime which the anime I was picturing was Vinland Saga but
kind of weird pretty pretty weird whenever I'm in like a great piece of
nature. I always think like it reminds me of
anime or video games which there's nothing inherently bad
about that but yeah you gotta check this out. Oh my gosh
we got a cross-country skier inline skater
um see if you can see them back there they're gonna catch up to us probably so
we'll say hi to them when they pass but that's pretty cool second one I've ever
seen in my life um there's a lot more popping up in this
state because it's really snowy I guess so it's just a
popular sport here but yeah I did not see that in Washington
um posted it on my Instagram story when I found another dude he was doing it in
the city which is very questionable I mean
crossing the street in those and doing all that but okay
look at this I mean look how well kept it is
I feel like they just sweep the road and like mowed this area or something but
there's no way it's this nice all the time
and it leads down to a lake I think I had
one more thing to say I'm gonna check my phone real quick I started uh
taking notes on like things I noticed throughout the day or
um basically things I want to say or talk about oh yeah my wheels
okay so I've been using 90 millimeter wheels I've been buying
the same pack for like a year
now um I'll put a screenshot right here they're fifty dollars for a pack of eight
but they're considered or they're marketed as uh
racing wheels for like speed skaters uh they're 85a
um they seem to work just fine I mean you're about to see some slides here we
got a slight downhill uh they do wear kind of fast
which defeats the purpose of having cheap wheels because you just kind of
have to replace them but they slide well as you can see
whoo am I making a mistake by buying these cheap wheels um do you
have suggestions I have a pair of hydrogen roller blade
hydrogen wheels on my roller blade or on my uh 4x80 setup
for inline skating and they're really grippy
it's like hard to slide in them I'm not sure if it's because of the
the wheel profile or the size but I was not having a good time
trying to slide in those okay we're nearing the end it's gonna be
a little lake isn't this insane uh
oh actually okay you guys gonna watch me bomb a grass hill real quick
I'm gonna fast forward to me climbing to the top but
might be a little sketchier
okay pretty much at the top holy cow this is a really nice well-kept
trails making me want to get those off-road
skates okay let's go down this I should be fine
since it's really cold the ground's really hard
okay maybe not oh my goodness I just climbed this for nothing
okay this is lame I guess a running start all right never mind I guess
um I was serious though I mentioned in my last video
uh if you guys know more like SoundCloud songs like
for a whole I want to make a whole playlist of music I can use in videos
like this so let me know if you have
recommendations but uh thanks for watching my first little
scenic nature video
