Ivanka Trump wasn't the only wealthy and famous figure to spend the Christmas holidays in Aspen,
Colorado, but according to multiple reports, her visit stood out more than anyone else's.
The exclusive mountain town was packed with high-profile guests over the long holiday weekend,
yet witnesses say Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, and their three children
arrived with a level of security that stunned even longtime Aspen regulars.
According to entertainment reporter and gossip columnist Rob Schueter,
the Trump family's Secret Service detail was so extensive that it pushed parts of the village
and nearby ski slopes into what some described as a full-blown security lockdown.
You'd think she was the president himself,
one guest reportedly told Schueter on his Naughty But Nice sub-stack.
Others claimed the scale of protection surrounding Ivanka, Jared and their children,
Arabella, Joseph and Theodore, disrupted normal ski operations,
and frustrated visitors hoping for a relaxed holiday getaway.
Aspen is no stranger to A-listers and billionaires.
TMZ reported that other notable figures in town that same weekend included Amazon founder Jeff
Bezos and his new wife Lauren Sanchez, pop icon Mariah Carey, reality star Kyle Richards,
model Brooks Nader, and longtime Aspen regular Goldie Hawn.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was also spotted enjoying a family vacation in the area.
Despite the celebrity-packed weekend,
sources say most high-profile visitors managed to blend in seamlessly.
Some were photographed by paparazzi,
while others casually shared vacation snapshots on social media, all without noticeable disruption.
Aspen values discretion, one source explained.
Celebrities come here to disappear, not to shut the place down.
That sentiment reportedly fueled frustration among some locals and visitors,
who pointed out that Ivanka Trump no longer holds any official government role.
Unlike during her father's first administration,
when she and Jared Kushner served as senior White House advisors,
Ivanka now lives as a private citizen.
She's not in office, one person told Shooter,
but she moved through Aspen like she was still running Washington.
While Ivanka Trump may no longer work in government,
she and her family are still entitled to Secret Service protection
as the daughter of a sitting president.
However, according to witnesses, the sheer number of agents,
particularly those assigned to her children individually and collectively,
felt excessive to many.
Seeing armed security hovering around kids on the slopes was surreal, one observer said,
and knowing the public is footing the bill, people were not happy.
Still, none of that tension was visible in the photos Ivanka Trump shared publicly from the trip.
Her Instagram posts painted a very different picture,
one of warmth, elegance, and family togetherness.
Merry Christmas from the mountains, she captioned a series of cheerful images.
The photos showed Ivanka, Jared, and their children posing in front of their rental mansion,
skiing together on pristine slopes, and enjoying quiet moments indoors.
No Secret Service agents appeared in any of the images.
Among the most talked-about photos were two cozy shots of Ivanka sitting by a fireplace
with her eldest daughter Arabella, working on what appeared to be vision boards.
A calm, reflective activity far removed from the security controversy unfolding outside the frame.
While Aspen's holiday crowd may have included some of the world's most recognizable names,
Ivanka Trump's visit sparked a rare debate in a town known for discretion and understated luxury.
And as the photos show, what visitors experienced behind the scenes
looked very different from the serene holiday memories Ivanka chose to share with the world.
