Hello and welcome to the Volleyball World presentation of the Beach Pro Tour. We are in Southern California at long last. It's Newport Beach. Pretty calm conditions here right at the 1.30 mark in Newport Beach and Esteban Grimalt to start us off. He goes right into the net, grabs really scrappy on defense. Grimalt's a little more of a powerful game even though that one's going to be short. Look at that. The bug just scooping early. There's an inverse relationship between the speed at which Hawaiians walk and the speed that they have on the court. That's a nice swing up the line from Esteban Grimalt. Ooh, yeah, Marco. All over that line shot attempt, Trevor's so good in his variety of line shots. That was kind of back and that minimizes a little bit of your range that way. Now the right-sider. There's a nice high swing away from the body, and he grabs. Taylor making a nice little show and take into the angle, but Esteban high off the hands. More tactical with their float serves. Trevor making a move. Touch at the net, Marco. Oh, Trevor, yeah, into the net. Just followed through a little bit too aggressively, not pleased with himself. That was a really good, a little bit of an international field as well, so come on down and see it if you're in the area. Taylor again in good position, but the heat, a little too much getting through the arms. Oh, Trevor, swatty, covered by Marco, and that one is going to fall inside the sideline, so good block at the net from the USA, but well covered as we switch ends one more time. A little hang and swat, and this one again short, Marco. There's some heavy heat, Esteban. That is a heavy swing into the cross court to send Chile into the technical timeout with a one-point lead, 11-10. Here's set number one of the Bronx as we get back to action here. That one into the net, trying to go hard cross court. Oh, that one's going to fall off the top of the tape and down for the direct ace. Huge for Chile, bad break for the United States, and now a three-point lead. Here, and recoup those couple that they gave up. Ooh, good move. He does it time and time again, and you end up kind of scratching your head as to how he accomplishes it, but it's just tremendous consistency. There's a dig. That one's going to sail well wide. Volleyball's back in the USA. That's good extension high off the top of the hands from Marco. Short again to Trevor, and that one wraps through the hands. There is one. That bump set gets a little bit tight as Esteban tries to go around the back. Good short serve and an excellent reception from Esteban to get it up there in option position. Oh, Marco all over that. Good press late as T. Krabs tried to sneak it by him in the angle. Three-point lead taking it to 19-16. That one is going to be an ace. You can see the tail on that thing just kind of dove away from Taylor Krabs. 21-16 is the score in the first set. Grimbold's in control most of the way. All right, back in action here, set number two. That one off the top of the tape and out. That one's close as well. Nicely done by Esteban to kind of extend, knuckle that one deep to the line, so it is indeed out. Chile take a 2-1 advantage. That one is in, however. Sliding one up the sideline. Marco, great hands into the angle. A little strategic conversation there in Espanol for the Grimbolds. A tough chance for the United States. That is well executed. That one squeaks through the hands. They've got themselves an excellent position to leave Southern California with some hardware. Lots of volleyball left still in this second set. The Grimbolds playing well. Just underneath, Taylor Krabb, yet another good move at the net. That's a nice, high, deep swing. Trevor Krabb into the angle. That's a nice swing from Trev. Tough chance there. That makes it tough on the right-side attacker, but Trev deals with it nicely. Taylor with the layout lefty attempt. That shot is crisp. Resorting to chirping as his team is still four down in the second. That one's going to get in. So that's a direct point. I wasn't sure. I mean, they were nonchalant on the Chilean side there. Marco and Esteban both just kind of watching that one dig to a direct point for Taylor Krabb. That's a good, quick little slap off the block from Esteban. Going after the face again of Esteban Grimbold. Good run down. Nice timing on that from Esteban. Tough chance. Trevor's got it. And that one, aided by the top of the tape, was going right at Marco as he was retreating off the net. They're hoping to extend this bronze medal match. And that is just patented Esteban Grimbold. Nice serve. Well passed. Taylor Krabb. He can get alive for Chile. Trevor will have a chance. And he slaps that into the cross court. Well done. That one nicely up over the top. There's an ace. Pete Krabbe dropping one on the back line. Keeping hope alive. 15-17 now. A little lefty scoop. Go ahead, Pete Krabb. Babu bouncing it. Scoop into the tape. And that one up over the top and down. So now three bronze medal match points. This one will go into Esteban. He'll have the first chance. And that one off the hands of Trevor and down. So that completes the bronze medal for Chile. Coach is fired up.
