Hi, I'm Brad.
I'm John.
Well, it's Mission Solved Monday, basically.
And the latest...
No, it's not the latest one.
They released another one in between.
The almost latest one that they've released is
So Sad to Say,
which is originally by the mighty, mighty boss.
Boss Tones, I think.
Pretty sure that's right.
The name of the song sounds familiar.
So Sad to Say?
Yeah, it kind of sounded familiar to me,
and I think I know what it is,
but I'm not 100% convinced.
Anywho, so it came from their sixth album,
Pay Attention, which was released in 2000.
Oh, maybe it's not, then.
What?
I was thinking it was a Lionel Rivers song, then.
That doesn't mean it's not.
Oh, yeah, it could be a remake,
because it could be a remake of somebody else,
and I just didn't look into it that hard.
So it's...
Am I in now?
Yeah, it's about the bitter realisation,
heartbreak of a failed relationship,
mourning what could have been, accepting the loss,
capturing sadness, the finality of a broken connection.
Yeah, you can tell that I had AI tell me
what the song was about, can't you?
While originally about a break-up,
some of the fans now do actually think
it's reflecting the band's own break-up,
because the band broke up shortly afterwards,
which kind of adds a poignant layer of meaning
to the lyrics about saying goodbye.
Oh, yeah, could have been them saying goodbye to the fans.
Yeah.
Although they probably knew it was coming.
It's like, okay, this is it.
They might not have admitted it was coming
at that point, but...
They probably knew it was coming.
Especially if they're having a song like that.
Anyway, not that it matters.
But then again, it could have actually been about a break-up.
After the band broke up, people are just...
People assume things.
People are assigning meanings to things and stuff,
not like anybody would ever do that about a TV show.
Yeah, not that I haven't been seeing it
for the last week or so on everything.
Yeah.
Nothing about number 11 or something like that.
I wouldn't know.
That upside-down 11.
I kept trying to get in.
All right, so we're ready.
Before we get going, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out the description down below.
You're going to find all our links, information,
stuff that we have down there, including...
Links to our new channel, which is replaying the past,
which is trivia and quizzes of the nostalgic...
60s, 70s, 80s, 90s.
Drifts into the 50s and 2000s a bit.
But mainly 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s.
There's music, TV, movies, pop culture.
It's going to be quizzes like that.
And then the Gen X Music Rewind,
which is daily shorts of a minute clip of the classic music
with a bit of a trivia at the beginning.
Yeah.
The more you know.
Pretty much.
All right.
Done with our plug?
Yes, done with the plugs.
Okay.
All right.
Pressure here.
Play.
Ooh.
Mission Souls.
Established 2022.
Huh?
There you go.
Actually, it's like a new logo.
Yeah, because before it was just the part in the middle.
All right.
Here we go.
Pulses for YouTube.
So.
Know it?
Probably.
It seems somewhat familiar to me,
but I think it's one of those,
I recognize other songs and parts of it kind of thing.
Yeah, because there's a music part of it.
I don't know if that kind of sounds familiar,
but I know it's from another song.
Yeah.
Just can't think of the name.
So what song does this song sound like?
It's like I know the song.
Mm-hmm.
But I don't.
Yeah.
I don't.
So do I.
There's another song as well,
but can't place what song it is.
I do.
YouTube.
Oh, yeah, it's it's a nice one.
plays with, you know, harmonies that they're so great at and, you know, obviously shows
off the ability to play well because it's not a super simple song, you know, because,
you know, let's face it, some of the things they copied from the 60s and stuff like that
aren't exactly the hardest thing in the world. Some of them are very hard. Yeah, some of them
are, but yeah, some of them are simple. This one's actually got some nice complexity to it,
so they get to play around a bit, guitarists show off a bit, drummer put a little bit of
flourish and stuff, you know, let's face it, we've seen eye songs in some of these videos.
What are we doing with this?
Yeah, like we always say, they're so good, you know, I mean, for being a family band and being
so young and, you know, being able to put instruments the way they do.
I caught the headphones.
Everything else spilled, it's all right.
Yeah, but I caught the headphones.
Yeah, it's always, you know, just look forward to.
Even if it's a song you don't know, you know it's going to be good because they're doing it.
And they're so good at singing it.
Especially if you don't know the song, it's like you have nothing.
Yeah, you have nothing to actually compare it to, which actually kind of makes it better in a way,
because you have nothing to compare it to, to sit there and go,
compared to the original.
Yeah, when you don't know the song, it's kind of like it's just new and fresh.
Even if it does come from 25, 26 years ago.
Yeah, you say it that way, it's like such a long time.
Oh, it really is.
When you get older, 20 years ago, it wasn't that far away.
You stop and think, yeah, the song was released in 2000.
Macy's, the oldest one, is 17.
Yeah.
So it's kind of like this song is older than all of them.
Yeah, it's just insane how fast time goes.
Yeah.
Yeah, like I said, another good one from them.
We're definitely going to continue hitting them up, so if you want to see those,
make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out, wrong thing.
