Welcome to Happiness Garden.
Today, I will continue to share the method of propagating orchids from the dormant buds
on spent flower stems, making full use of every part of the plant.
This method not only helps the mother plant continue to grow vigorously, but also creates
opportunities for the baby orchids to develop healthily.
When the petals begin to wither, it is the golden time to cut the flower stem for propagation.
If cut too early, the young stem is prone to rot and difficult to recover.
If left too old, the germination ability will decrease significantly.
The flowers that have bloomed will not be able to sprout into new plants, so we will
remove them, keeping only the dormant buds where new vitality is hidden and the potential
to develop into healthy baby orchids.
After cutting, gently peel off the outer protective layer to awaken the dormant buds, allowing
them to be exposed to air and light, creating favorable conditions for growth.
We must be very careful not to damage the buds inside, the starting point of new life.
Next, use a very sharp knife to trim, creating a smooth cut and removing the damaged tip.
This is very important because the damaged tip is prone to rot, affecting the propagation
ability.
A clean cut helps the flower stem heal faster, reduces the risk of infection, and creates
favorable conditions for new shoots to develop.
Now I will prepare a natural fertilizer to help support the propagation process more
smoothly and effectively.
The first ingredient is garlic, a familiar spice but with an excellent effect in stimulating
the dormant buds to grow.
First, I take three fresh garlic cloves, peel off the outer skin, and then use a sharp knife
to finely chop them.
Garlic contains natural compounds that can stimulate dormant buds to grow and enhance
the orchid stem's resistance, making the propagation process more effective.
The second ingredient is aloe vera leaves.
I chop the leaves into small pieces to make them easier to blend.
Put all the ingredients into the jar, then add 500ml of clean water and blend until the
mixture is completely smooth.
The finer the mixture, the better the nutrients are released into the water, allowing the
orchid to absorb them more easily and helping the dormant buds be stimulated to develop
more effectively.

It's wonderful that we can connect with each other from all over the world.
Next, I strain out the residue to keep only the liquid extract, then dilute it by adding
1L of clean water.
This step helps make the solution milder, safe for the orchid, and suitable for use
in the propagation process.
After the mixture has been diluted and become uniform, I soak the dormant buds so they are
completely submerged, as this allows the nutrients to penetrate directly into the buds, stimulating
them to be awakened and begin a more vigorous growth process.
At the same time, I use this liquid to gently wipe wipe the leaves of the mother plant to
supplement nutrients, helping the leaves become greener and glossier, increasing photosynthesis
efficiency, and enhancing resistance, supporting the mother plant to recover quickly after
the stem cutting process.

The remaining mixture I put into a spray bottle and use it to spray and care for the orchids
in the garden.
When spraying, I gently and evenly mist both sides of the leaves, the stem, and the exposed
roots, allowing the plant to absorb the nutrients gradually.
This mixture not only helps the leaves become greener and healthier, but also enhances resistance,
limits fungal diseases, and creates favorable conditions for orchids to grow steadily.
After soaking the dormant buds for about 15 minutes, I take them out and gently dry them.
Next I use candle wax to seal the cut end of the stem to reduce water loss, prevent
bacteria from entering, and help the flower stem heal faster.
I will reuse a plastic cup as a planting pot, then make a few small holes in the bottom
to help with better drainage.
Tea.
Next I cut a piece of foam so that it fits snugly inside the plastic cup.
This piece of foam helps hold the flower stem in place, maintains stable moisture around
the dormant buds, and at the same time limit water logging, creating a favorable environment
for the dormant buds to begin developing.
Next, I gently insert the flower stem into the prepared foam, ensuring the stem is held
securely and the dormant buds always face upward.
After that, I place moss around the flower stem to retain moisture and create an airy
environment for the buds to develop.
Finally, I lightly mist a thin layer of water onto the moss and the surface of the stem,
helping to maintain the necessary humidity without causing water logging.
To easily observe the plant's development without covering it, I place the pot into
a transparent plastic bag that has been pre-punched with ventilation holes.
This method helps maintain stable humidity inside while still ensuring air circulation,
creating a favorable environment for the dormant buds to develop.
After that, I place the plant in a location with gentle light and good air circulation,
avoid direct harsh sunlight, lightly mist weekly, and observe regularly to make timely
adjustments as the plant begins to grow.
Let's take a look at the results after three weeks of care.
From a seemingly dormant bud, a fresh green baby orchid has now emerged with new roots
beginning to form, a plump stem, and healthy leaf development.
This shows that the dormant bud has adapted well to the new environment, and that this
natural care method is producing clear results.
With just familiar natural ingredients, a little patience, and love for the plant, we
can completely awaken the dormant buds, helping them sprout and develop into healthy, vibrant
baby orchids.
This process not only brings joy in seeing the plant grow, but also helps us better understand
the wonders of nature.
