Why would Baldoni's team fight so hard to make her testimony public?
If she was supporting Blake, they would not do that.
Hi and welcome to Flossum Talk. I'm Sashti Floor, journalist,
Hollywood truth teller, and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
Happy Friday, everyone. And just a quick reminder before I start, if you haven't subscribed yet,
please do and hit the notification bell so you never miss an episode of Flossum Talk.
And also check if you've been unsubscribed because that also happens a lot for some weird reason.
All right, Baldoni's team has responded to Isabella Ferrer. As you know,
she wrote a letter to the judge the other day saying that you can't make my testimony public
because I'm a working actress and it might harm my professional life and it will be intrusive
of my privacy. Well, I don't think the judge is going to listen. And when you hear what Baldoni's
team is saying here, it is so clear to me that Isabella Ferrer's testimony is not supporting
Blake. Also, more text messages have been unsealed from what's been going on behind the scenes
between these publicists and crisis PR people. And it's terrible. It just shows how unethical
and dishonest people are, to be honest with you. But it also shows how Leslie Sloan, Blake's
publicist, was leaking to the press where she said, amongst other things, that Brandon Sklunar
in particular had a problem with Justin. Also, according to some new sources, it was evident
that Blake was trying to flirt with Justin. And it's interesting to hear the psychiatrist
witness expert talking about how Blake was so obviously attracted to Justin. And she's also
wondering how long Ryan is going to support his wife. I think we know the answer to that by now.
Also, I wanted to remind everyone that you can go to DocketUpdates.com. It's an amazing website
because a lot of people reach out to me and say, hey, can you go through things again? Because
there's so many players here. Everything is kind of confusing. We don't remember who's who anymore.
If you want to refresh your memory, you can go on DocketUpdates.com. All the depositions are there,
the names and pictures of people. It's so well done. You can also look at video footage.
Everything is there. This website is made by volunteers. And if you want to buy them a coffee
and help them continue their amazing work. Okay, so let's get into this letter from
Baldoni's team here. Kevin Fritz, who is one of the attorneys that we really, really like
on Baldoni's team. He always has the best responses. He's always straight to the point.
There's no BS. And again, he's doing a great job here. He's telling the judge why Isabella
Ferrer's deposition or testimony should not be hidden from the public. As you know, the other day
she wrote a letter and she said to the judge, hey, you can't show my testimony because I talk about
the intimate scenes in the movie and those are really personal to me. And also I'm a working
actress, blah, blah, blah. And I need special treatment here. She also claims that the
Wayfair parties dragged her into this litigation and she didn't want to be part of it. Well, now
here's the truth coming from Baldoni's camp, where they're pointing out that Isabella Ferrer
was already deposed and subpoenaed by Blake Lively. And she was also mentioned in Blake
Lively's lawsuit. Blake made a big deal about how Isabella Ferrer felt unsafe on the set of
It Ends With Us. And she's mentioning one of the scenes that Justin Baldoni came up to her after
this intimate scene was filmed and said that, I have to say, this was really hot. Did you guys
practice beforehand? I don't know if I believe that actually happened, but anyways. And to
refresh everyone's memory, when Justin tried to subpoena her, which is his right to do because
she is a witness for Blake, so he has the right to depose her. So when he tried to subpoena her,
she claimed that he was harassing her because he couldn't get hold of her and because her attorney
refused to actually accept the subpoena. So then she said, he's harassing me, he's stalking me,
and the press made a big deal about it. It looked terrible. Of course, all the headlines were that
Justin Baldoni is harassing another woman. And then what happened was quite interesting because
then Baldoni's team said, hey, we don't need to use Isabella Ferrer at all. We don't need
to depose her unless if Blake agrees that she won't use her as a witness either. Then Blake said,
no, we can't do that. We want Isabella Ferrer to be a witness. So then they decided again to keep
Isabella Ferrer a part of this lawsuit. So as Fritz is saying here in his letter, he says that
the motion contends that sealing is appropriate because according to Ms. Ferrer, her deposition
testimony contains sensitive details regarding the filming of intimate scenes and the religious
affiliation of another non-party who is not involved in this litigation. I don't know that
non-party who that is, but she's saying that this information is so sensitive because it's part
of the scene. And then Mr. Fritz is pointing out here that the scene that she's pointing to
is already in the movie and the film was distributed everywhere. So everyone can go
and watch that if they want to. So what about that is so sensitive to Ms. Ferrer? He's also saying
here that there is no details or graphic details about that scene in her testimony. The only things
that she was asked in her deposition were about rehearsals of the scene, whether she was or was
not concerned about anything that occurred during such rehearsals, whether the scene was filmed or
not, and her comments to the film's intimacy coordinator following the filming of the scene,
as I showed before, there's an interview of Isabella Ferrer where she's talking about
how she felt so safe and so comfortable. I mean, we had a phenomenal intimacy coordinator, Lizzie,
she's worked on Bridgerton before, so she was extra, extra careful with us at all times, but
also there was just a lot of communication and check-ins and making sure like, how are you
feeling? How's it going? And it can get tiring, but it was a great process, honestly.
She also sent a text to Justin Baldoni where she said that she felt so comfortable and he created
such a safe space. So of course she was asked about that text, I can imagine, in this deposition,
and she couldn't really come up with a good answer, and that's what I think happened here.
Remember, Isabella is young, she's not seasoned, this is her first big movie, and also something
that I realized when I was looking at her IMDb page is that she's saying she's a working actress,
she hasn't done anything since It Ends With Us, and she has nothing in the pipeline. So I really
wouldn't go that far to call her a working actress when she hasn't had a movie in like three years.
I think what happened here is that Isabella agreed to help Blake, but she didn't understand
the consequences of this support. She did not think this through, that she would have to sit
probably maybe in front of Justin Baldoni, because I think he is allowed to be at her
deposition and watch her defend herself against her own words, and she didn't think that through,
that that would be the scenario here. And if she's saying contradictive things in Blake's
deposition and Justin's deposition, that's just terrible for her. I think that Isabella probably
caved and she was honest in her deposition, and she does not want us to see that, because otherwise
why would Baldoni's team fight so hard to make her testimony public? If she was supporting Blake,
they would not do that. You also have to remember that Blake and Isabella didn't have any scenes
together. She was playing the younger version of Blake here, so they didn't really meet until after,
until they started doing promotion together. And all of a sudden, Isabella Ferrer unfollows
Justin Baldoni and takes a distance from it, and never mentioned him in any interviews.
I mean, it's wild, you know? I mean, not only Blake Lively, I mean, you're phenomenal,
but also to be a young Lily. I feel like that is a disservice too, because in the movie,
she's not doing me, she's bringing herself to the role as a young Lily.
Yeah, let's see what the judge says here, you guys. I'm sure that he's going to allow this to
become public, because it is important to Justin's case, because Blake has portrayed Isabella as
another victim, and if Isabella is contradicting that in her testimony, that's important for
everyone to know, including you and me. Okay, so let's get to these text messages. I was reading
through them this morning, and I was like, wow, this never ends. These people are just backstabbing
each other, they're unethical, they're hiding things from each other. I don't think this is
a good look at all. And you know, I want Justin Baldoni to win this, but I think some of the
players here are not really honest people. So this is a text exchange between Jennifer Abel
and Melissa Nathan. Melissa Nathan is a crisis expert that Justin hired after there was so much,
after all the rumors started surfacing in the press, and Jennifer Abel is his publicist that
he had working for him throughout this entire thing. Jennifer Abel at that point was working
for Stephanie Jones' company, she then left the company, and Stephanie Jones is now suing her,
and she's also suing Stephanie Jones for taking her phone and the content of her phone and giving
it to Blake Lively, who gave it to New York Times. Just a quick recap there. Anyway, so this exchange
between Jennifer Abel and Melissa Nathan, here they're talking about how Leslie Sloan planted
a story in the New York Post, and they're quoting Leslie Sloan here, who is the source of this
article, saying that Blake Lively was given final edit approval on It Ends With Us to make the movie
more feminine, according to sources. More feminine, a dig at Baldoni, obviously. The star and the rest
of the cast are not speaking to director and co-star Justin Baldoni, and Brandon Sklenar
particularly has a problem with him, we are told. So here they're trying to plant a seed, or Leslie
is, according to Melissa Nathan, that Brandon Sklenar had an issue with Justin. We don't know
what that issue is supposed to be, and as we've seen from Justin's text messages back and forth,
he was in shock when Brandon Sklenar all of a sudden unfollowed him on Instagram, and he was
like, well, that was the end of that bromance. He said something like that, and so far we haven't
heard anything from Brandon Sklenar that he had any issues with Justin. Anyways, they also quote
here saying that, although not greenlit as we predicted, there will now be a battle over the
it start with us, as Baldoni owns the rights to the film, but due to the rift with Lively,
it's unknown what will happen yet. A source said, there were two edits, and the studio went with a
more feminine edit. Blake had the rights to do that, she had final edit approval, which is basically
a lie. She didn't have final edit approval, she just took final edit approval. She was just an
actress in this movie, she made herself a producer, but no one has final edits over a director of a
movie. That's just unheard of, okay? Then Jennifer Abel says in a text here, Leslie is working
overtime, and she wasn't given a final edit approval. She said she wouldn't promote the film
if it wasn't one that she could personally get behind. In other words, if it wasn't her edit,
even though Justin scored hired in the focus group screenings. Yeah, you know that Justin's version
was more popular in screenings than Blake's version, but Sony gave in to Blake's pressure,
because she pressured them as well and said, I won't promote this movie unless I get my version
of the movie out there. Then comes an interesting part here, because they talk about that article
in the Hollywood Reporter, where they did a story that Melissa Nathan was hired by Justin as his
crisis manager. Justin did not appreciate that that became public, because he felt people would
judge him for that, and that it would start speculations online that he had something to hide,
and that's why he hired Melissa Nathan. Melissa had already represented Johnny Depp, and her name
was out there, and when this article hit, it really freaked Justin out. In this text exchange, they
talk about this article, Jennifer Abel and Melissa Nathan, and Melissa Nathan pretends that she's
surprised by this article. She's like, oh, I had no idea about this, so this is terrible, blah, blah, blah,
how are we going to handle this? Well, we know that she already knew about it, because as I said the
other day, when I was reading from Justin Baldoni's deposition, he was told and shown evidence by Blake
Lively's team that Melissa Nathan already knew that that article was coming out, and she also spoke
to the Hollywood Reporter on background here. She had leaked these to her circle, and they had planted
that story in the Hollywood Reporter. Then this exchange shows that everyone else started picking
up this story, and it really added fuel to the fire that there was a big conflict of the set of
with us, and this really harmed Justin's reputation at this time, because it did actually make people
start speculating. This is from Justin's deposition, where Blake Lively's attorney is informing him
about what happened here, where they're asking Justin, did Melissa Nathan ever tell you that she
in fact was responsible for the leak that culminated in this story? She never did, Justin said. Did she
ever tell you that she was lying to you when she thought, when she told you that she was incredibly
frustrated by this? She did not. Did she ever tell you when she said, I know someone
placed this, that she actually knew who placed it? She obviously did not, Justin said. Did she ever tell
you that it was one of her friends? And then they flipped the page here, blah blah blah, so they can
show him more evidence of this, and then he reads from a text here, I told our friend Josh that
Melissa is a boss and has a cool client. Josh told his wife, who is a very prominent publicist,
Sarah somehow told the Hollywood Reporter, and now they're doing a story on Melissa. Blake's attorney
is showing him this, saying, you understand this is how the Hollywood Reporter got this story, and
Justin says, it appears that is what Amy is saying, and then he's showing another text message here,
saying, from Melissa, saying, just checking in to see if I need to look out for this article,
and if so, when. Then Pam, her friend says, was just texting you, story is very fair and going
soon. Melissa says, thank you, and then he's asking Justin, were you aware that Melissa had spoken to
the Hollywood Reporter on background? And he says, no, I wasn't. Then he also asked Justin, were you
aware that Melissa and her friends were boasting and joking about how good this article was going
to be for Melissa at the time? I wasn't aware of this, Justin says. To me, this is really sad, and
as I said the other day, these are things that can be used against Melissa Nathan in that other lawsuit
against Rebel Wilson. As you know, she's also representing, or she was doing crisis management
for Rebel Wilson, who's also being sued for defamation and retaliation. So I think at this
point, Justin must be so disappointed in some of these people that he trusted, and when you see
these text messages, everyone is talking ---- about each other, behind each other's backs.
It's just terrible. The only people we haven't seen done that is Justin and Jamie. They're not
talking behind anyone's backs. Okay, let's get into these new sources talking about the chemistry
between Justin and Blake, and how Blake was falling for Justin, and how this witness expert in
psychiatry is confirming that Blake was attracted to her co-star. But before we get into that, I
wanted to thank the two sponsors of this video, Roe and Ari. Taking care of yourself isn't just
about a certain look. It's about feeling better in your body and getting support when you actually
need it. Your health affects every aspect of your life, and I know a lot of people delay weight loss
care, not because they don't want help, but because insurance feels overwhelming and confusing. Before
I say anything more, I want to stress that GLP-1 medications are not for everyone. They're not
about dropping a couple of pounds after the holidays. They're designed for people who genuinely
struggle to lose weight and know that their long-term health could be at risk if they don't
take action. That's why I love that Roe is offering a free body insurance checker. All you have to do
is submit your insurance card, and Roe does the rest. No paperwork, no phone calls, no guessing.
A few days later, you get a clear report showing whether GLP-1 medication may be covered by your
insurance, and if prior authorization is required. You don't even need to be a Roe member to get the
report, and it's completely free. From there, you decide what's right for you, and if you decide to
move forward, Roe also offers ongoing support with access to a provider. Go to roe.co.uk
for your free insurance check. That's roe.co.uk to see if your insurance covers GLP-1s.

Also, a big thank you to Aerae for sponsoring this video. You know that moment when you spot
your first gray hair, and you're like, okay, here we go. It's not just a change of color, they feel coarser
and they're harder to hide. A lot of people just start panic dying their hair, but if you want a
smarter approach, that's when Aerae comes in. I'm lucky because I don't have many gray hairs, but
that's the great thing as well with this product, because it can also be preventative, and my hair
feels fuller and healthier overall. The reason for that is because it works from the inside
and the outside. Their daily supplement, Not Today Gray, supports melanin, the pigment behind
your natural color. It also helps fill nutrient gaps that can speed up graying. Their lightweight
serum, To The Root, helps slow grays and also promotes fuller and thicker hair. Timing really
matters, and even if you haven't noticed any gray hair yet, starting early can help slow the process.
In clinical studies, 88% of users saw less gray hair, and you also may notice that your hair
is softer and more shiny. We spend so much time caring for our skin, and Aerae is the same idea
for your hair. For a limited time, you can get 15% off at aerae.com by using my code
that's a-r-e-y.com. After checkout, they'll ask you where you heard about them, so please mention
my name to support my channel. All right, so let's get back into it, you guys. We have to talk about
this new report from Rob Schroeder, who's been talking to some insiders here, who's claiming
that Blake was attracted to Justin, and that there was a lot of flirting going on. He's saying here
that a source tells me that when Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni first met to discuss her
taking the role in It Ends With Us, it started as business, but their chemistry was undeniable
from the very first minutes. They hit it off immediately, and the insider says there was lots
of playful flirting going on, enough to make Ryan Reynolds shift uncomfortably in his chair.
There was a spark, a playfulness, one source said. Everyone noticed, including Ryan.
Then came the moment that sealed the deal. Baldoni shared a personal detail about himself,
yes, his circumcision, during a discussion after Lively's unborn son. Blake agreed to the role
after that conversation, they're pointing out. She literally signed on after he got that
personal, and he says here that another insider says that they were close,
too close. It had energy, intimacy, tension, the flirting was obvious, and a friend of the couple
wonders aloud, is this why Ryan seems to be going after Justin now? Did Blake get too close, and is
this all about jealousy? Some people think Ryan is making him pay for that first connection with his
wife. There's nothing really new here. These speculations have been going on for a while.
I don't believe Justin was attracted to Blake for a minute. She is definitely not his type,
but I do think that Blake was attracted to him, and I do think that Ryan was threatened by that.
I just wanted to remind people of this text message that Blake sent to Justin in regards
to that rooftop scene, and the wording she's using here, and I can imagine if Ryan saw this
text, he would not be happy. So she said to Justin, I can send you my pass at the roof,
or just read with you when we get together next week. My pass at the roof, by the way,
she's lying here because it was Ryan who wrote that scene, and she admitted that later.
Let me know what you prefer. If you knew me in person longer, you'd have a sense of how flirty
and yummy the ball-busting would play. It's my love language. Spicy and playful. Bold,
never with teeth. And him serving it back to her, talking about the characters, is just as
important. You don't usually see both the man and the woman with such agency and humor. Anyway,
I can act it out for you next week to make sure it comes through, or I can send it now. Let me
know what you prefer. XX Justin responds, sorry, was just crying my eyes out as kids and family
just left for another five weeks, and it was a ---- show. Heart, heart. He is not buying into
her flirtatious love language at all. He's just talking about his family. He's definitely
rejecting her. And when you read this, this is not coming from a woman who feels that her work
environment is unsafe. Just saying. You wouldn't write this, and also you wouldn't invite someone,
as I said so many times, you wouldn't invite someone up to your home, up to your personal
space, if you feel that, if you feel unsafe around them. Anyways, this reminded me of this video. I've
shown this before, but I wanted to remind people of what this psychiatrist expert witness said to
Sky News. She was interviewed there, I think it was about seven months ago, after that dancing
scene came out, and after Blake Lively withdrew her claims against Justin for emotional distress.
Remember that? She said that it wasn't worth it for her because she didn't want to show her
medical records, because she obviously doesn't have any medical records of her being distressed
because of the situation, so she decided to drop those charges. Anyways, this expert witness, after
watching that video, this is what she said. So basically she was trying to say that he came on
to her in this movie. Now he's married, not that married men don't come on to women, but he seems
happily married, and really what I think happened is that she was got into her character, and I
think she was starting to fall for him. And she was very uncomfortable with that possibility,
because of course she's married, and that made her all very uncomfortable. And so at the end,
she just decided to blame him for sexual harassment, rather than facing and acknowledging
her own feelings. And I wonder if her husband, how much longer he's going to stay supporting her,
because this is just really blown up. Yes, Dr. Carol Lieberman says that Blake fell for Justin,
and that's exactly what I think happened here as well. And of course, on top of that, Ryan felt
there was something there. And as I also said a couple of months ago, when I was interviewing
Rick Feddick, the photographer that Ryan put in jail for taking a photo, that story is so
crazy. Anyways, he said that some of his paparazzi friends who were there at the set of It Ends With
Us, taking photos, confirmed that Ryan was on set a lot, and he went into Blake Lively's trailer once,
they were yelling and screaming, and he left really angry and slammed the door behind him.
So yes, all of it is coming together now, and as I said before, I can't wait for all of this
evidence to get unsealed later this month. And what we've seen so far from Judge Lyman, a lot of
people think he's been biased towards Blake, but one thing that I noticed with him is that he is
very pro-transparency, and he's been ruling a lot to make things public, so I think he will continue
down that road, which means that we get to see almost everything. Anyways, thank you guys so much
for watching, I really hope you enjoyed this episode, and again, please subscribe if you haven't,
hit the notification bell, so you never miss an episode of Blossom Talk, and have a lovely weekend,
and I'll see you soon! Bye!
