Today we're checking out the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro.
Now I have used the previous versions of these
and they're so much fun
because they have a ton of AI capabilities built into it.
This basically is turning your smartphone
into your own videographer.
Just, you don't need another person.
You just pretty much need this.
Let's open it up.
Huge thank you to Insta360
for partnering with me on this video.
Oh wow, we've got all kinds of things here.
Got a cable, some documentation.
Like they really want you to pay attention to this.
Oh, a little baggie.
Got the phone mount clip and the gimbal.
This does come in two different colors.
So I have the white version, there's also a gray.
So depending upon your color preference, you can choose.
Here it is.
We've got all kinds of wrapping on here.
So many stickers.
This also has a built-in tripod at the bottom,
which is so nice.
This other nice little detail that it has
is it has a mirror right here
on the other side of the gimbal arm.
Because if you decide to film with your back camera,
this will make sure that you're actually in frame
and you'll be able to see what you're filming.
What a great idea.
I love the transparent look of this as well.
So you can kind of see inside.
There's a cute little lights
and it's a really nice aesthetic.
We've got a couple of other accessories
that they sent to check out.
All right, let's see what's in this little mystery box.
It feels kind of light.
What could it be?
Oh, this looks like you could strap this to your backpack
and put the gimbal on it.
What a cool idea.
Another mystery box.
A case.
Oh, this is nice.
I'll be able to store all of my items.
Look at that.
I love it.
This is a little spotlight.
So you'll have a little light to help you
in low light situations when you're shooting.
You also have a little magnetic phone mount.
Ooh, wow.
This is really nice.
So this attaches right to the back of your phone
and it doubles as a phone stand.
Check that out.
Last but not least, we have a little USB-C charge cable.
Look how cute it is.
It is the perfect length to connect directly
to your iPhone.
Of course, that is any of the iPhones that have USB-C.
Wee, there it is.
We've got everything charged and set up,
so now it's time to take this out and start testing.
I couldn't wait to get out and start testing
this new Insta360 Flow 2 Pro.
Insta360 is calling it your pocket AI filmmaker,
and honestly, I couldn't agree more.
It's got AI tracking, three-axis stabilization,
and a ton of creative tools
all packed into one compact device.
Think of it like a built-in tripod,
selfie stick, teleprompter.
And even a power bank in the palm of your hand.
I also really love the controls too.
The buttons are so intuitive.
It can be a little overwhelming at first,
only because they can do so much.
I ran through this tutorial several times
and I still need to keep referencing it
to remember all that it can do.
The setup, as always, for these devices is super simple.
Just connect to the app and you're good to go.
This has a small added step now
with this built-in NFC connect.
So you just tap right here and it will pair your phone.
This is a pretty important step for using Apple Dock Kit,
so you can use the iPhone's native camera app
or even 200 plus other third-party apps,
from simple chat apps like FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom,
all the way up to more professional video apps
like the Blackmagic iOS app.
This is also powered by DeepTrack 4.0,
which is Insta360's advanced AI tracking technology.
It locks onto your subject and stays with it,
even if it leaves the frame and comes back.
This isn't just face tracking.
It can identify and follow pets, objects,
or even multiple people at once.
Obviously, this is going to get you
some super steady footage with a three-axis stabilization.
It cancels out shakes for ultra smooth footage,
whether you're walking, running, or even on a bumpy road.
It also supports shooting in 4K 60, 120,
and even 240 for slow motion content.
One of my favorite features is active zoom tracking.
This allows the gimbal to track a subject even at 15X zoom.
For comparison, most others cap at around 8X,
so this makes it perfect for capturing moments at a distance
like sporting events or live performances.
Now, this is something that is really unique.
There's a built-in teleprompter,
so you can preload scripts or talking points on your phone,
and the content scrolls as you record.
I've used a lot of iPhone teleprompter apps,
and most of them are really terrible.
This is surprisingly so good.
I tried out the teleprompter
while shooting a little cooking video here at home.
It made filming and reading a recipe so seamless.
Let's see, what else do we need?
It looks like we need a little olive oil,
avocado oil, yes, please.
I'm just gonna go around here just for the sake
of showing you that this is following me.
I also like that, okay, I'm gone now
because Nathan is covering me,
but as soon as I reappear, look at that, it found me.
Here's our eggy.
Look at this, this would be great
for a little dance video.
I'm making a full music video here.
This is awesome.
Guess I'll put the eggs back now.
My script has been long gone,
but I also like that I can scroll on this.
I can just scroll if I wanna go back up to the top.
I can make the text bigger, text larger.
Oh my gosh, I can even move this around too.
I can make it change the size.
This might be the perfect teleprompter app.
Eggy's done, did you want an egg
because I just ate breakfast?
Oh, whoa, here you go.
So now I'm out at the park with my lightsaber
that I haven't actually used in a while,
so forgive my skills.
I used the active zoom tracking
and the AI stayed locked in on all of the action,
even when I moved pretty quickly across the frame.
I was really impressed with how the footage
stayed steady and super sharp,
even while it was zoomed in.
Something else that's pretty cool
is there's a multi-person tracking feature
that really comes in handy
when you're filming with a group of people.
I was really surprised how it automatically
kept us all in the frame,
no matter which way we moved around.
This is definitely great for vlogging with friends
or capturing family moments.
So now on to some more of the advanced AI features.
The Flow 2 Pro supports 360 degree infinite pan tracking,
which means it can continuously rotate
to capture dynamic action shots with no limits.
I love this because there were so many times
when I'd be using other similar gimbals like this
and I'd hit the end of the pan limit,
but now I'm free.
Again, as a solo filmmaker,
being able to start and stop your video using gestures
is so awesome.
It's super easy.
You just raise your hand to start or stop recording
or to activate tracking.
There's no buttons required.
It's all hands-free.
Well, I guess technically,
you need to use your hands to make the gesture,
but you know what I mean.
And to get a little more cinematic,
there's a crane shot that can mimic a jib arm
and even this fun barrel roll moment.
It's such a vibe and it can take your phone footage
to a whole new level.
Now, after a long day of shooting,
obviously your phone battery may start to die,
but I love that you can turn this into a charging bank.
You're able to charge your phone from about 10% to 55%.
And to turn this into charge mode,
you just plug in the USB right here and press the M button
and you're good to go.
Time to charge.
This is a really fun feature that I'm really excited about.
So as someone who is solo filming a lot of the times,
you can link up the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro to your Apple Watch
and you can even hook it up to another phone
so you can use it as a remote control.
And now I'm getting a preview of what I'm seeing on my phone
and then I can just use my finger to move the phone around.
There's a little remote control connection here.
So this says all I have to do is use another phone
to scan this QR and that's it.
I'm now using my phone to control this phone.
That was so easy.
I didn't even have to download anything.
I literally just scanned a QR code
and now I've got a remote control.
I know this is a sponsored video,
but I am so freaking into this thing.
I also love that this has integrated ProRes log recording.
Now my phone is actually at capacity
so I need an external drive, which I did not bring with me.
If you are recording ProRes, the files are much larger.
So make sure you have an external.
It makes it much easier to record too.
This looks pretty good.
Just can't hit record because my phone is full.
Thanks again to Insta360 for partnering with me
on this video.
If you guys want to get more information
about the new Insta360 Flow 2 Pro,
I'll put a link in the description.
They've made so many incredible changes to this.
And now I think this is my go-to videographer.
Sorry, Nathan.
Bye.
