Hey everyone! Welcome to my channel. My name is Alina, and I'm a Russian teacher. Today I want to
start another series of videos that can help you to learn Russian verbs. Verbs, as you know, are the
most important part of each language, because without verbs we simply cannot speak. So today
you're gonna learn three verbs of different levels, and they are both aspects past, present,
future tenses, and imperative form. Also I'm gonna share with you the cases that these verbs are
usually taken, and you'll be able to see the situations where you can use these verbs correctly.
Like this, you can take these verbs to your daily Russian conversations and use them without any
doubt. Let's begin! Today we're gonna look at three different verbs. A one-level verb is
встречать-встретить. A two-level verb will be мешать-помешать. And B one-level verb
will be предлагать-предложить. And let's start with the first verb A one-level встречать-встретить.
Встречать is imperfective. Встретить is perfective. Let's begin with встречать.
In the present tense it'll be
Past tense will be
And future tense
And imperative form of this verb is
Then встретить-perfective aspect. Present tense here doesn't exist. So let's move on
to the past tense
And the future tense
Imperative form is
This verb is usually followed by the accusative case if you are talking about the direct object
to meet who or what.
And also it can be used with the prepositional case if you're talking about the place
where you're meeting someone.
And like this we can say
Мою подругу – accusative case. На улице – prepositional. And one more example
Then let's move on to the second verb A two-level мешать-помешать. First
imperfective мешать. Present tense
Past tense
And the future tense
Imperative form
Then perfective aspect
Present tense doesn't exist. Past tense
Future tense
Imperative form
Pet mentioned that this verb can be used in different meanings. One is to disturb someone
and another one is to mix something. And like this if we talk about disturbing someone it'll be the
Like this we can say
Also if you're talking about
Also dative case. But if you're talking about mixing something it'll be direct object therefore
the accusative case
It's a little bit better to say
But a lot of people are also using this verb
мешать in this situation. And also this one can be used with the prepositional case
again if you're talking about the place. Like we can say
And the last verb for today B1 level
Imperfective
Present tense
Past tense
And the future tense
Imperative form
Then perfective aspect
Present tense doesn't exist. Past tense
And future tense
Imperative form
This verb also we can use with two cases. If you are offering something it'll be accusative case
as a direct object
And if you're offering something to someone it'll be dative case recipient of your offer
Like this I can say
And that's it. Like this you can learn the verbs, the forms and the situations where you can use them
As you can see usually one verb has more than one case that is using. That's why I always say
that it's better to learn the meanings for each case and like this it'll be easier for you to
understand how and when to use specific verbs. But if you don't know the meanings of the cases
you can try to memorize cases that each of these verbs takes. It's also helpful. But don't forget
that I have both courses about the cases and about the aspects of the verbs on Udemy where you can
learn both topics with my help. Thank you very much for watching!
