Mitsubishi Electric’s NEW R290 Heat Pump – MSZ-RZ Wall Unit Review!
Hello I'm Jacob I'm the outspoken engineer and today I am reviewing the brand new MSZ-RZ
R290 wall-mounted split unit from Mitsubishi Electric. This is a bit of a first for Mitsubishi
Electric. There's a few other brands out there that has it but Mitsubishi Electric are going
hard on saying this is the way we're going. This is the brand new R290 heat pump. So it's a propane
so for those that doesn't know what that means it's flammable. However do the Mitsubishi Electric
training get used to the gas because it is the future. A GWP of less than one that's right folks
it doesn't harm the environment and although there's a bit of grotesque out there to say
R290 this we prefer this we prefer that this when released into the environment will not harm the
environment. Right noticeable feature of the units is Mitsubishi Electric have cut followed
suit off the MSZ-AY where they've gone to a matte white finish. It's an attractive unit. Being R290
do expect in the short term the units internally to be slightly bigger that is for efficiency. So
for those out there that says oh the unit's bigger than the MSZ-AY range yes but it is more efficient
and the small sacrifice is it's slightly wider. Personally if the units do come bigger in a five
or seven kilowatt you'll probably find they'll follow suit and keep the same frame of unit.
Currently the only available units on the market for the RZ is a 2.5 and a 3.5. This application
is the 3.5 model. Features. So the RZ unit has all of the features that the premium products have
from the MSZ range. Starting with the 3D sensor so a moving sensor which will direct hot or cold air
to the areas which require the temperature. Four louvers. We've seen this on the MSZ-LN.
It has four individual louvers which can be controlled individually. What that means is
better air distribution so we can cool the floor and then we can cool a further distance.
The standard two louver setup on most units doesn't allow us to do that. It's either one
or the other. Great feature and also it does help with the 3D sensor to get perfect air distribution
to the person. Wi-Fi. It has wi-fi built in and now it's the first that we've seen instead of
having a built-in module it can be done from the remote controller. Which is what I would say is
the up-to-date way of doing things. Others have already gone to that route but Mitsubishi Electric
have made that pledge and that is what they're doing moving forward. No more annoying dongles
it's all done from the controller. This system does have an air purifier so from a standard
looking range of unit it does have the quad plasma which means that when you're using the
unit for cooling or heating it is also cleaning the air which is a great feature. We've seen these
features on the LN and also the AY range of units and it's nice for them to follow suit and say our
new R290 unit which is really good for the environment has all the features that we want
to give in our wall mounted units. Connectivity. Connectedness is pretty good where it comes to
Google Assist, Amazon Skills and third-party devices. Following suit from the other M series
range it's really easy to set up and once it is set up it responds really well to third-party
interfaces. Why you should have this unit in your home or your office? Well if you have a two and a
half kilowatt on a three and a half kilowatt unit in your home and it's failed and needs to be
replaced and you're really conscious of the environment this is the system to probably go for
because it has got the latest R290 refrigerant which seems to be the refrigerant of the
future which means you are future proof in your installation and you've got a refrigerant that
doesn't harm the environment. Commercially if you need a two and a half to three and a half
kilowatt unit or you're looking at replacing it this is probably the unit you should have.
It's on the future proof refrigerant and it does not harm the environment.
If this gas is released in event of an accident or a refrigerant leak as things can happen
rest assured that your unit does not harm the environment. The place that we've got this
installed currently has made a pledge to have no equipment that can harm the environment so no gas
or refrigerant above the GWP of one. This fits that perfectly. Right, I hope this review has
been helpful on the RZ unit. If you do require any further information stick a comment below,
subscribe or get in touch with Minterbush Electric directly. This is the future refrigerant.
I'm Jacob Sway from The Outspoken Engineer and I'll see you in the next video.
