Formula E has just celebrated its 150th race! From racing a cheetah, to our GEN4 reveal earlier this season, join us as we take a look back through our history and some of our greatest moments both on and off the race track!
When Damien told me about his stunt, it just freaks me out.
The fact that he's doing a backflip without seeing the car approaching, for me it's crazy.
Through the chicane, two more corners to go now in the FIA Formula E race here in Beijing.
There's still just six tenths of a second between first and second,
but it looks as though Nico Prost may just have enough.
He comes through turn 19, one turn to go.
Heidfeldt's closing in as they come towards the final corner at turn 20.
Is Heidfeldt going to fancy a look into the last corner of the race?
Heidfeldt goes to the inside line, and they make contact!
Nick Heidfeldt, he has gone off the circuit.
The two of them come together in the final corner,
which means Lucas di Grassi is going to take victory in the FIA Formula E race here in Beijing.
A dramatic, dramatic end to the race.
There is Nico Prost, out of the car.
And he goes as if to say, what happened there?
Here we go, this is on board, coming down towards the final corner.
Heidfeldt goes to the inside, and I mean, that's a...
But there is our race winner, Lucas di Grassi,
for the Audi Sport APT Formula E team.
He takes victory in the first ever FIA Formula E race.
It's the Brazilian.
The racers are about to hit the track for the very first time
here at the Miami International Autodrome.
Our drivers took the cars for a shakedown this morning
to make sure everything is ready and prepared for them.
And then, each creator is going to get a 20-minute session out on track.
Let's see how they get on.
Day number one for Brooklyn Beckham.
I'm really impressed. His approach was flawless.
Look at that smile on Mitch Evans' face, too.
He's loving what he's seeing.
All smiles in the Porsche garage, Pascal Fairlein,
enjoying what he's seeing, his charge.
Coming around that corner, right before the straight,
it's crazy how fast that acceleration goes,
from going so slow around that corner,
and then all of a sudden, already being at max speed in a second.
Thank you to you all for that.
That has been an amazing, amazing experience.
Crozio covering the inside line.
Lucas!
Di Grassi up the inside, and Fairlein goes straight on.
And he cuts the chicane and he doesn't stop,
and that's in the regulations.
And this is going to run and run.
This is going to be a post-race investigation, I fear,
as to who's going to win the E-Prix,
unless the BMW, Da Costa, gets involved as well.
Fairlein's got 1%.
I think Mattara's probably the only guy getting there to the finish.
He's gone from 6th to 4th.
The Nissans are out of this one.
Fairlein, can he get to the line before he hits 0%?
That's going to be the big question.
Who's going to win the Mexico City E-Prix?
Di Grassi goes for it.
Fairlein covers.
He's defending like an absolute...
White demon!
Here comes Fairlein, out of the final corner.
He hits 0!
Di Grassi wins!
Surely Da Costa is 2nd,
and surely Mattara is 3rd.
What a mad end to the Mexico City E-Prix.
It never fails to deliver.
Audi don't need to wait for any post-race investigation,
because Di Grassi took the flag.
Two laps to go, you will make it.
Two laps remaining.
Two laps.
Is he going to go for it again in 2.8?
Weaving all over the back.
Antonio Felix Da Costa with a farcical move
for the lead of the Cape Town E-Prix.
Antonio Felix Da Costa hits the front for Taglia and Porsche.
There's no room, but he just sends it around the outside.
That was 10 out of 10 risk.
Da Costa wins for Porsche for the first time
on the streets of Cape Town.
And now the winning trophy for Antonio Felix Da Costa.
And look how good that feels.
Formula E is not only the world's foremost
all-electric single-seater world championship,
the mission goes beyond wheel-to-wheel racing.
Formula E aims to be a catalyst for change,
driving not only movement towards sustainable mobility,
but also making racing more inclusive for everyone.
From day one, Formula E has championed gender equality
on and off the grid.
Today at the pre-season test here in Madrid,
Formula E takes that commitment one step forward,
hosting the first women's test.
The best female racers have come together
to get behind the wheel of the Gen 3 Evo car
to show the world what they're made of.
This is really just the beginning.
Formula E is an opportunity for all of these women
so they can aspire to be part of this paddock and this lineup.
It's a historical moment really to be a part of all of us girls.
It really does show how far we've come.
It would be a dream for the championship
if a woman, any woman, come here and kick our ass.
Let's have a little bit of a chat about
what goes on this afternoon, how it's going to work,
how many shots you get at it,
and what we need to do on the safety side.
OK, so we've said you get three practice runs each,
so you can get up to speed with where we're going to go
and how we're going to do it.
We'll do a little bit of a track walk in a minute.
217.
It's got 218, 219 in it, I think.
Jake, this is your world record attempt.
Best of luck.
Jake, this is to confirm that you hit 218.71.
Congratulations, mate.
218.71.
I can now confirm that Jake Hughes
managed a total speed of 218.71 kilometres per hour,
and it therefore gives me great pleasure
to officially recognise a new Guinness World Records title.
