Hey guys and welcome back to another steal her style video.
So today we're stealing the style of the beautiful film director
Sofia Coppola or Coppola. As always I'm not sure about
how to pronounce the name and I've even googled it but without luck.
So anyway this woman is so chic and sophisticated and I absolutely love her
minimal style. So as usual let's talk makeup and hair
first. At the moment I like to mix a bit of
light coverage foundation with some sun lotion to give my skin a bit of extra
protection from the sun and to even out my skin tone all over my
face. I'm currently finishing up a even better
foundation from Clinique that I've had for
quite some time but I really want to try out Elate cosmetics next time for a
more sustainable and pure option. So I'm just
using my fingers to even out the foundation and then going in with a
brush to get rid of any streaks. Next I am filling in my eyebrows ever
so slightly and mostly focusing on the tail of my
brows and then I'm just going to brush some
brow fix into them. I like to brush my brows the opposite
direction first to really work in that product and also because
it just gives a much more natural and full look.
So next I'm taking the same dark brown color I used to fill in my brows
and then I put a tiny amount in the outer corner of my eye
just along the lash line. That makes my eyes a bit more
intense and sort of lift them up and it looks really good once the mascara is
applied to and I only apply mascara to the top
lashes again because it gives a very minimal look and it
kind of lifts my eyes. So I just remembered that I forgot to
apply a bit of concealer under my eyes so that is just what I'm doing right
here. Normally I would do it right after
applying my foundation but anyway then I'm just setting everything
with a bit of organic mineral powder. So Sophia has really fresh cheeks and
so I'm just gonna apply blush on the apples of my cheeks to give that
really flushed and fresh look. So next I'm gonna mix
some of the same blush with some natural lip balm
and you'll be surprised to how intense your blush will actually get after
mixing it with foam and then dab it onto your lips. It's a
great way of making your own lip stain and it gives such a natural look
and you can use any products that you have on hand.
Lastly I'm finishing off with a bit of highlighter just to get that natural
glow going and I'm just using the same brush as
the one I used for my blush. So let's talk a bit more style before
moving on to the hair shall we? Again she has this really
sophisticated and I'm almost tempted to say mature kind of style but in my
opinion it's not dull at all. She always looks so chic
even though her outfits are actually very basic.
She does sometimes spice things up with like a printed shirt or a quirky jacket
though. So for the hair we're doing something
with a bit of volume and then this kind of barely there wave.
Kind of like how your hair looks the day after you've had a bunch of curls in it.
So first off I'm making a side parting and then I'm just gonna curl
random sections of hair like I usually do.
I did actually have some leftover waves in my hair from the day before so this
hairstyle just gets easier day after day because you can quickly
work back the life of the curls you made the first day
especially if you use just a bit of hairspray afterwards.
I'm just giving my hair a few loose curls and then I'm curling them
away from my face and I'm kind of wiggling the wand to make them
more loose. And then for the very tips of my hair I like to just
take a few sections and give them a bend so they're framing my face instead of
pointing away if that makes sense. That also kind of adds more volume to the
hair. Lastly I finish up with some
hairspray. This one is perfume free. I know I used to make my own one but I
ran out a long time ago and I really need to
work on that recipe because it could get better to be honest with you.
But this one is all right. As I said it's without perfume
and it lasts for days. So once my hair is cooled down I just
brush it gently to get an even more natural look.
If you want Sofia's style you definitely need some classic items like a pair of
oxfords or loafers, tailored trousers, a good
relaxed shirt, a little black dress, a silk shirt and
then a pair of strappy heels. She also wears little to nothing when
it comes to jewelry but she sticks to the classics like a pair
of earrings or a watch with a leather strap.
I absolutely love her philosophy on mixing almost
boring everyday pieces like a jumper with a pair of dress pants and heels for
an event and again this is just her very sophisticated and timeless way of
dressing. I also really loved the cropped
culottes with this look and I'd love to wear it for some kind of
birthday or family event. For the second look I again mixed some
everyday items like my white jeans with some items from my
occasion wear capsule which is this vintage blouse
and then again my strappy heels. So again another
really minimal look that would be perfect for some kind of event
and I just loved how this turned out. The final look is really relaxed and
basic. Perfect for busy days at the office
because it's comfortable but dressy at the same time.
So I'm wearing a loose fitted soft cotton shirt this is a really old one
from H&M and then I'm wearing a pair of
tailored trousers and then my oxfords which I think is a great alternative to
the loafers if you like me don't have any of those.
So that's it for today guys I really hope you enjoyed this video
and that it gave you some new outfit ideas
and I will see you all next time. Bye!
