Hi everyone it's Emmy
In this video Emmy is sharing a skincare routine focused specifically on facial oils
First this season is when we can use moisturizing oil without much hesitation
That Monday marked the launch of Happy Skin and Emmy's new product—brightening serum for fading dark spots
Emmy has just realized that quite a few people are using it the wrong way
And hey everyone no matter how good a product's quality may be using it the wrong way still ruins everything
If it's too light we won't fully realize its effect if it's too heavy we may even experience the opposite effect
So if you're currently using or planning to use moisturizer be sure to watch this video clip
To avoid the most common mistakes when using this product please keep in mind—don’t
forget to subscribe to the Happy Skin YouTube channel and join the weekly giveaway
Similarly there are certain instances in which Emmy has already been through something akin to this
Emmy couldn't help but exclaim "Sister what skincare products are you using Your skin looks so amazing "
But that's just a small number and those people usually have fairly healthy skin despite being dry
There are still many cases of acne occurring when using conut oil for makeup removal and skincare
Because conut oil is fundamentally classified as a comedogenic
ingredient meaning it's highly likely to clog pores
Choosing a moisturizing oil based on skin needs may lead to a situation where we're dissatisfied with the product's results
For example using a moisturizing product to repair the skin while simultaneously expecting it to become brighter
And filling in scars and reducing wrinkles is also very difficult
in fact for moisturizing products already available on the market
That is after this refinement has been processed through this formula
It never leaves out just one type of oil instead it includes various types of oils and different ingredients
However the type of oil and the key ingredients will also determine the product's standout effects
For example marula oil contains four times the vitamin C content of an orange giving it exceptional antioxidant properties
Sunflower seed oil rich in vitamins A and C is often likened to natural retinol
It may help fade dark spots and also protect the skin from sun damage potentially aiding in scar healing
Argan oil rich in vitamin E effectively moisturizes and restores the skin
Grape seed oil on the other hand is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties helping to soothe the skin and reduce oil production
And some people noticed that after using grape seed oil for a few weeks it also helped reduce stubborn dark spots because it contains a lot of vitamin C
Finally there's joba oil also affectionately known by another tender name—joba oil
Actually this isn't quite oil—it's a semi-liquid substance extracted from the seeds of the joba plant
Commonly found in the southwestern United States and Mexico this oil
has a molecular structure very similar to the natural oils on our skin
And effectively hydrates repairs the skin controls oil production and supports collagen regeneration
And although joba oil is known for its advantage of having a longer shelf life than most other oils on the market
This oil is also one of the key ingredients
in NME's new Whitening and Spot Corrector Oil
In addition to another highly discussed oil neem oil which may help combat acne and soothe blemishes
That's also why people with oily acne-prone skin tend to be hesitant about using facial oils
Actually it's just that we need to find a moisturizer suitable for oily acne-prone skin
If you have normal or dry skin using moisturizing oil
is quite straightforward—almost any oil will work for you
At worst they're just overly light oils but since our skin needs moisture we can simply add a moisturizer to make up for it
However for oily acne-prone skin it's a bit more complicated
We need to pay attention to the ratio of these fatty acids namely linoleic acid and oleic acid
When skin is prone to acne the level of linoleic acid on the skin tends to be low and a deficiency in linoleic acid can cause the skin to produce more oil leading to clogged pores
That's why we should use moisturizers rich in linoleic acid to replenish our skin's natural barrier
For example grape seed oil passionfruit seed oil prickly pear seed oil or goji berry oil
On the other hand if you have dry skin you should look for oils with a high oleic acid content
For example avocado oil marula oil or camellia tea seed oil
And for products with a watery base such as serums or lotions we should definitely apply them before the moisturizing oil
First to soften and moisturize the skin and second to allow nourishing ingredients to penetrate the skin more effectively
However whether to apply oil or cream first depends on the specific situation
For example Emie's moisturizing oil or The Body Shop's moisturizing oil has an
extremely light thin texture so it's usually applied before other moisturizers
Also for Emie's moisturizing oil whitening and spot-correcting oil
Because it contains a high concentration of active ingredients for brightening and fading dark spots known as Spot-Light Complex
Using it after moisturizer is a bit wasteful since it won't absorb fully
A few friends after using the moisturizer messaged Emie asking why their skin suddenly appeared darker
And Emie immediately figured out that the reason was because we'd used too much moisturizer on our skin in one go
The way we use moisturizer is that we apply a large amount right
But in reality for facial oils it doesn't consume nearly as much
We should never use more than three to five drops at a time
And Emie often recommends that everyone including those with oily skin use about 2 to 3 drops
And for our dry skin five drops are sufficient
Emie knows that some people prefer to simplify their skincare routine and use only one or two steps
Nevertheless it's still advised not to use moisturizing oil on dry skin
Although moisturizing oils have a low likelihood of causing irritation they are not 100% non-irritating
And the second thing is that before using moisturizing oil if we prepare the skin by softening and hydrating it first
For example using a serum toner facial mist or lotion—any of these works
This will enable our moisturizer to deliver better results
This misunderstanding may lead to incorrect usage
Essential oils are concentrated extracts obtained through steam distillation
or cold pressing and possess strong aromatic or medicinal properties
Essential oils are typically very concentrated and potent so they should be used with care and caution
For pure essential oils we should not apply them directly to the skin instead
they are typically diluted and applied to specific areas for treatment
For example chamomile essential oil
skincare oils are those oils extracted or pressed from plants
Typically rich in seeds and containing abundant omega fatty acids vitamins and other essential nutrients
Unlike essential oils which can be applied directly to the skin for protection and moisturizing
One way to distinguish essential oil from other carrier oils is by their volatility
If we apply our moisturizing oil to the face we'll notice it
leaves a smooth shiny and moist finish whereas essential oil does not
Alternatively you can test it by placing a drop of essential oil on the table you'
ll notice it evaporates quickly without leaving any residue unlike moisturizing oil
Emie also needs to apologize to everyone
because this was part of the product series featuring the whitening and spot-correcting oil
There's a picture of Emie holding the moisturizer like this— I wonder if
anyone misunderstood and thinks we're supposed to apply the moisturizer that way
The actual intention behind the photo was simply to zoom in so everyone could clearly see the texture of the skin along with the texture of the oil
The correct way to use it is not like applying a serum
We’ll only need about 1 to 3 drops for oily skin and 3 to 5 drops for dry skin
Then we gently spread it on this hand
Then we rub it in like this
And press it firmly onto the surface
Remember you only focus on the U-shaped area first because when we first
apply it to the hand there's still plenty of moisturizer left right
We focus on the U-shaped area which is the region that needs moisturizing the most
Then for the remaining parts on the hand we
only use the area corresponding to the letter T That's just enough
Emie hopes this video will help us avoid mistakes when using moisturizing oil
To feel more naturally inclined toward moisturizing oil and able to seamlessly blend it with long lashes
No more worries like late breakouts dark spots or oily skin
