Hi Big Tractor Power fans, this video comes to you from western Kentucky where a pair
of 620 horsepower John Deere 9620RX articulated 4 track tractors are working on primary tillage.
With 23 foot 9 inch wide Great Plains TC5319 turbo chisel plows, the 9620RX was the largest
tractor available from the company during its production run from model year 2016-2021.
It was manufactured in Waterloo, Iowa.
It was part of the first generation of RX articulated 4 track tractors from the brand,
which included 4 models rated at 470, 520, 570, and 620 horsepower.
RX in the model number indicates that it is an articulated 4 track machine which improves
traction and reduces compaction.
The 9620RX at the top of the line is powered by a 14.9 liter, 912 cubic inch Cummins QSX-15
six cylinder turbocharged engine rated at 620 horsepower and it offers 357 PTO horsepower.
It's fitted with a 400 gallon diesel fuel tank and a 22 gallon diesel exhaust fluid
tank for clean engine solutions.
It features a John Deere E18 full power shift transmission with 18 forward and 6 reverse
speeds which allow it to travel from 2.5 up to 25 miles per hour.
When it rolled off the assembly line, it weighed in at 55,500 pounds and can be fully field
weighted up to 62,000 pounds.
The John Deere 9620RX tractor during its first year of production in 2016 had an original
price tag of $618,220.
During its last year of production in 2021, it had a list price tag of $711,909.
Now that you know a little bit more about this big track tractor from John Deere, let's
head off to the field so that you can see and hear it working on tillage and then we'll
take a ride in the cab of the tractor to see the farmer's perspective of operating this
machine.
I'm up in the cab of the John Deere 9620RX.
We can see the farmer's perspective of operating this big tillage team.
The tractor is running at just about 6.5 miles per hour and the turbo chisel plow is working
at 12 inches deep.
The machine uses John Deere's guidance system to make perfect 23-foot, 9-inch passes across
the field.
The tractor also uses guidance to connect with the other 9620RX so they can either work
side-by-side or skip passes and completely film the field as they work from one side
to the other.
I hope that you've enjoyed spending some time out in the field with this pair of John
Deere 9620RX articulated 4-track tractors working with the Great Plains Turbo Chisel
Plows.
I would like to hear in the comment section below this video if you use John Deere track
tractors on your farm, tell me about the model that you're running and the implements that
it operates.
If you have appreciated this presentation, I hope that you'll consider subscribing
