Nishida also led the team finishing seventh place after 29 years, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Ran Takahashi (髙橋 藍 or たかはしらん, Takahashi Ran, born 2 September 2001) is a Japanese male volleyball player and an Olympian. He plays as an Outside Hitter for Nippon Sport Science University's club,[1] Japan men's national volleyball team and Vero Volley Monza.
The Japan men's national volleyball team (Japanese: 男子バレーボール日本代表) represents Japan in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Japan Volleyball Association.
Their nickname is "RYUJIN NIPPON (龍神 NIPPON)", meaning "Japanese Dragon God" or "Dragon God of Japan" in Japanese.
Oh, he's made it. He's made it.
Nishida gets his name.
Runs round Takahashi.
Side onto the court.
Pummels it across.
And it's inside the paint.
Big roll for that.
They're all square.
22 all, set two.
It's in play. That's a rocket from the back line.
Nice set.
One on one.
Built.
Good pass actually.
Sekita sets up Nishida again.
Dials down the power.
Pitches it really smartly.
Nishida finding the answer that time.
Middle attacks.
Run Takahashi. Shows him how to do it.
Absolutely crunches that.
The sharpness of the angle.
The speed at which he hits.
Run Takahashi.
There's just sign for Mirovali Monza from...
Both serve. Nice and high for Run Takahashi.
Two in the air.
Well, Run was the target.
They had Onodera as the decoy player front row.
Run makes that transition.
He makes that pipe finish look so easy.
Of course it isn't.
But that's a measure of the technique to stay ahead here.
By three points.
12-9 China.
Been a brilliant performance tonight.
Always though.
When you're ready to get back in and throw that can amongst the Chinese pigeons.
He's had a decent match in the block.
With that pick up.
Two in the air.
That's a really easy on the eye play from Japan.
Run Takahashi gives it full throttle again.
13 points in the match for Run.
The decoy there was Yamauchi.
But Run steaming down the pipe.
Follow the Volleyball Nations League with Steak.
And don't forget to use the code POWERVOLLEYBALL.
Lee as well.
Blocking hard as well for China.
Run come back here.
It means the lead is now two.
Miura.
Bullets at it.
Yu.
Offset there.
And then Tsukita.
And then Run.
Japan.
On the way.
And bringing.
A ball of Asia Arena to its feet.
On multiple occasions now in this break up.
It's a big reach.
To finish there.
Just about doing it Miura.
Look at the run up there.
He's getting set for that.
Before the setter gets involved.
He's running.
20-19.
We didn't even look to him again.
Indeed they will.
Blaze at 19.
China timeout.
All of a sudden.
Japan seem to have reset.
A lead by Tsukita.
Back to the line.
Tsukita nice and high.
Containment.
Three there from China in that block.
They try and get the better of a two on one.
But it's Japan now defending well.
Then the two on one for China.
And that push into hand.
Tsukita keeps the ball from dropping on the floor.
And that's the block.
Stopping Miura.
China with the serve back.
Wang Hebin.
Good set that.
Back of a spot on.
Stopping Takahashi.
And Takahashi goes again.
Working hard.
Good movement from the Chinese.
And that's an excellent swing as well.
Off balance.
But it's down on the floor from Li Yingchen.
And the first chance here was Ishida.
Who went for real power.
Sensibly going through the middle again.
Wang Hebin with that serve.
No cover on that whatsoever.
Japan just locking and loading again.
Receiving the serve really well.
Scoring.
Nice and tidily.
Yamauchi.
Makes it 13.
He's paced them.
He's paced China.
With 20 points.
He's got the serve in play here.
This could be it for Japan.
That is victory.
It is 9 from 9.
For the Imperial team.
