Do you want to date Ryder?
We're gonna vote.
If she wanted to go out with Ryder, would we approve her going out with him?
Yeah, we spend weeks with each other.
I just take advantage of these days.
Your brain is just not developed enough.
What?
Let Rhea date.
What do guys talk about?
Like, do they even talk about us?
Cameras, cars.
She would be mean to me if I had a bad hair day.
Most of fights that I've had are because of boys.
Is that a bad thing?
Yeah.
Teenage girls are so emotional.
You're not ready.
And even if you were, you should not feel that good.
Why would we ever need a boyfriend?
Even if Ryder is your soulmate,
relationship is something that I just would not recommend.
People have literally said they will die if we ever break up.
We are not in a relationship.
We can't break up now because we're in this YouTube relationship.
And what are we gonna do, like, then?
Maybe, like, there's that 1% chance where it would, like, last.
If you don't want to be average, you'd be kicking Ryder out of your life.
All right, Gia, after all of this amazing information,
do you want to date Ryder?
Well, I think I—
What?!
What's up, RockPod?
We're doing a mother-daughter RockPod today.
And we have two very special guests.
We have Talia.
Talia, how old are you?
I'm 21.
21.
And Gia, two favorite people here.
Wait, wouldn't it be three special guests?
You're absolutely right.
We do have three special guests.
That's why you get one microphone.
So technically, we do come as one.
Technically, you guys are one perspective,
and Talia's another perspective.
Because Gia here, she's 14,
and the audience is really into Gia dating.
And Gia herself has a really good friend, Ryder.
We're aware.
Talia, are you aware of Gia and Ryder?
I've seen things here and there.
Here and there?
But maybe not really, because you probably don't follow, like, 14-year-old things that much.
Today on this podcast, we're gonna figure out for Gia
how she can make decisions in her life at 14
and be a really happy teenager.
So, Gia, do you think you and Ryder should date?
I'm not sure.
Well, you know what?
We have two perspectives for you today.
That's right.
Yeah, we have—
These two have been dating for five years.
I mean, a lot of teenagers are obsessed with dating.
Yeah.
I mean, before I met Jensen, I definitely was.
Did you want a boyfriend?
Oh, yeah.
You were, like, 12 when you met him, though.
Yeah.
I remember the day that you told me that you were gonna go out with him.
You guys were 13 and 14.
Yeah, I was 14. I was Gia's age.
Oh, so there you go.
Yeah, Gia's age.
Do you think someone Gia's age should be dating?
As someone dating really, really young, I'm gonna go with no.
I just do not think you have the—
Not you specifically.
And when I say you, I mean just you in general.
I don't think kids that age have the mental capacity, the maturity, and the want to be in a relationship.
And I'm speaking off of really my story.
I liked the idea of having a boyfriend.
I was not ready to put in the work of being in an actual relationship and being a good girlfriend.
I just think at that age, it's the excitement.
But there's a lot that comes with a relationship, and it's both sides.
And I just think at that age, kids don't understand that and are not ready to fully commit and mature.
I'm actually really excited to bring Talia on here, too, because we have an audience of 90% female viewers.
And they're mostly between, I'd say, 10 to 15.
So they're really impressionable.
My thing is being the rock mom to all of them.
But also, you can't teach kids something.
You're like, just don't do that. Don't do that.
They don't listen.
That's why I wanted to get some opinions for her, because she has pressure from the internet.
Yeah, I mean, for me, I'm 21.
I graduated college early, moved to Newport Beach.
And for the first time, I'm learning how to actually take care of myself.
Like cooking my own food, getting myself to the gym, working all through the day.
These are things that you're not doing until you're older.
Even college, I would say.
You're not fully taking care of yourself.
And if you are, you're probably still getting dining hall food.
So I feel like you really need to get to know yourself first.
Who are you?
What do you like?
What do you not like?
And especially getting to know what makes you feel the way it makes you feel.
Like, when do you feel good?
When does someone's energy make you feel more comfortable?
When do you notice that you kind of had an off vibe?
It's like the little things.
Every single day is a new opportunity to learn something about yourself.
And at that age, you haven't had that many days.
And you had zero days fully alone raising yourself.
Let's talk about guys, because I'm going to say Ryder is very special and he's really sweet.
He's not on here right now.
And he is so sweet and mature.
And I feel like he could be the type of guy.
Like, maybe like there's that 1% chance where it would like last forever.
But that being said, do you want to only date one guy?
Like, what's your perspective on that?
Like, what if you find the perfect guy, but you've never dated anybody else?
That's the goal for me.
I feel like if you're not dating for marriage, you're dating for heartbreak.
And so I would be so happy to meet my soulmate and be with him forever.
Why would I waste my time with other people just to end up sad and upset?
And I think that's the thing.
So many people, they're like, you have to go through bad things to get the good things.
No, you don't.
Like, why do you have to suffer and experience pain to get something good?
Like, why do you not just deserve to meet the love of your life and like move forward with them forever?
And I think it's possible for sure.
But even if Ryder is your soulmate, there are things that when you're with someone,
you don't take the time to do the inner work and learn about yourself.
Like, are you journaling every day?
Are you praying?
Are you learning who you are?
Do you have that attention also on someone else?
And sharing that attention with someone else at that age when you are just getting to know yourself
is something that I just would not recommend.
So you raised a good point about like, you don't know yourself well enough to care for someone else.
How did your parents say you guys could start dating?
So I have definitely an interesting story because I've been in this industry since I was six.
I've been doing this for quite a while and had like a different upbringing than I would say most people have.
Jensen is like the most mature 19-year-old ever.
He like teaches me stuff about YouTube.
I even like stopped going to regular school in seventh grade.
And then like I started pursuing social media kind of full-time.
And then that's like when COVID happened and like the acting industry shut down.
So then I really only had social media to do and YouTube.
And then I started supporting myself fully and moved out when I was 16.
So I had to grow up really, really fast.
That really taught me like a lot of like maturity and how to be an adult.
It is such a testament to the maturity levels of people are definitely different.
Your experience of the world and life really shapes like who you are and how you connect with people.
I do think to be fair that you and Ryder are more mature because of you have a lot of responsibilities.
Like they get to set early.
They learn all their lines.
They work out.
They eat healthy.
They do pray.
They do pray over set every time we film.
Every time where they're like, we're so grateful to be here.
Like thank you God that we get to create that we get to do this.
So they have a lot of good guidance and they're so honestly sweet together.
We should be 16 when we date.
I'm pretty like firm on that.
But then when I see them and they're like so perfect.
It's like well, maybe they are mature enough.
Maybe like they could date.
In the beginning.
I thought that I might have been mature enough, but I really had to find out myself that hey,
maybe in the beginning.
I wasn't at the mental capacity that I should have been at to be in a relationship.
I think a good way to look at it is I don't necessarily think it's like a certain age.
I think it's like you really have to take it person by person because everyone's different.
Everyone's gone through different things and have grown up at their own speed.
But what if like Tali said, which I love, it's like you're not doing enough for yourself
because how can you know yourself when you're 14 no matter what?
Then she's like, oh, I can't go out with you.
I'm only 14 and then he goes out with someone else.
I think nothing that is meant for you can pass you by.
If that's your person, your soulmate, why not wait?
That's God's plan.
If he has it for you, then you're going to find that person.
If he goes away and doesn't come back, then he's probably not the right person.
Yeah, and a lot of people they disagree with my content.
They're like, who cares?
Like woman empowerment, go do what you want, like sleep around all that.
But it's like at the end of the day what I'm preaching, it can't hurt anyone to wait.
It's not like you can harm yourself by spending more time loving yourself and getting to know yourself.
So I feel like waiting at least longer than you think you should.
Like even when you think you're ready.
I really can't stand the hookup culture and that was why I wanted to bring you on the podcast
because there's so many girls that are being raised in that culture and I know you guys aren't in that.
I've never even had any interest to be like, well, maybe I'll try.
That's so rare though.
And the kids looking out on here, all they want is to be like, so many girls I see want a boyfriend.
Yes.
Oh, yes.
It's a very, very, very big thing.
I mean, going back to what Eliana said, it's like even she really wanted a boyfriend,
but I'll be the first one to say it.
It's like, I don't think she was ready to have a boyfriend.
Yeah, it was.
But again, like when you're 13, it's just, oh, more like, yay, I get to say I have a boyfriend.
I'm getting a new purse.
Yeah, well, you know what's really funny?
That's so normal at that age.
You don't have the patience and you don't understand.
If someone's having a bad hair day and maybe that annoys you, then like, it annoys you and you don't know how to work with that.
Yeah, it was more of a want.
And then it got to be a really sticky situation of we were in a relationship for YouTube.
The fans love us.
People have literally said they will die if we ever break up.
Well, we can't break up now because we're in this YouTube relationship and what are we going to do?
Like, then I can't do these couple TikToks and I have couple brand deals that I'm getting and these couple YouTube challenges.
And it got to be a really stressful point of the relationship needed to end but didn't know how to end it.
It's really great of at a point now where we are not in a relationship because we have to stay there and we feel like we have to stay together.
It's on our own terms.
What's really important is like we do like a lot of things with each other, like off-camera.
Many dates that aren't filmed, you know, because we just want to focus on our relationship at the end of the day before social media.
Social media, essentially, it's like a nice little extra add-on.
So, would you guys say that you're the exception and not the rule to dating young?
Like you actually got through it?
We did, but I would not like recommend it because of really how I was.
It put a lot of mental stress on me when I was younger because I, when I was so young, was like, what is wrong with me?
Why am I different?
Why am I not being a good girlfriend like I should be?
And why am I not giving him like what he needs?
And it really put a lot of stress.
It really does.
I hope you're not too hard on yourself, too, because like for both of you, I'm sure it was hard.
It's like giving a kid like an adult CEO job.
It's like you don't know what you're getting yourself into and you're right.
Everyone wants a boyfriend, but are they ready to be the girlfriend?
It's like not really like you're 12.
You can barely take care of your own mental health.
And now that age, you're still growing up.
You're being raised.
So not only are you raising yourself, but then you're trying to help raise somebody else, right?
Your brain is just not developed enough in my opinion.
You're like tough to take care of yourself, which you haven't even done that yet.
And you have to take care of someone else's mental health and everything.
And be there for them and be there.
What about you are like the five people you surround yourself with?
So obviously, if you're surrounding yourself with like one guy,
you don't even have that time as your brain is growing to have like other people.
And I'm not trying to be right if you're watching this.
I'm not trying to be anti because I honestly do think like he's special.
Honestly, I just think that knowing yourself, even though I'm only 14,
you can't really know who I actually am, you know what I mean?
Like I haven't really took care of myself.
I don't live on my own.
So I don't know that side, but I'm saying like,
I feel like it's definitely important to take care of yourself before you get in a relationship
because I feel like sometimes in a relationship you can just kind of forget about that
because you're so focused on making someone happy.
What do you think like girls your age, like what are their main motivations?
Honestly, I have a completely different life than most 14 year olds.
That's true.
I think they want validation and attention to feel loved.
I feel like teenage girls are so emotional.
Another reason why they get into relationships,
they want to say that they have a boyfriend.
They want validation from someone besides their girlfriends or their parents.
Yeah, or they want to think like I'm pretty enough to get a boyfriend.
Yeah, I will say for a lot of girls, it's also like a game.
Say you're in like a normal public school.
One girl sees a guy that maybe she maybe likes but not really that much.
With someone else, it's a game of how can I get this guy?
And then they get the guy and then they just drop him like a bad habit.
Yeah, but I also will say like guys do that too.
I've definitely seen it happen.
I feel like girls talk about relationships more than guys.
When I've hung out with girls sometimes,
it tends to be quite literally the only topic that's talked about at all.
So funny.
I know.
Guys just don't even talk about us.
What do guys talk about?
Like do they even talk about us?
Talk about so many different things.
Like cameras.
Cameras, cars, stocks, video games.
I think that's a good point though.
I feel like you should look at what you and your friends are talking about.
Like I've had to cut off so many people because I'm like,
I don't care about these random boys you're talking to or hooking up with
or the party you went to.
Like it doesn't interest me.
And I feel like for us five sitting at this table too,
like we all have very good head on our shoulders.
I would say that like we're really different.
We've been through different things, different experiences.
And like it's rare for us.
And so I think even more for people who really are mature,
it's even more important to like be there for yourself
because like it's harder to find people who really relate to you
and you have to be even more careful about who you're surrounding yourself with
and who you get into a relationship with
because I feel like true and you know,
it's interesting a young trajectory
because I'm not going to reveal my personal story on this podcast,
but I've made a lot of not bad decisions,
but I think I could have had like a much smoother like relationship journey
if I had surrounded myself with different people
and like as you're growing your trajectory of your life is being like laid out.
So like if you can actually like get your mind in order young,
that's crazy.
Like when I was growing up,
nobody even talked about like mental health or like keeping your mind together.
I would say mental health has always been around,
but it's so much more prominent now and talked about and so much more normalized,
which is like incredible.
And I think back then you guys probably had to go through these things
just so no one really talked about it and brought it up,
but now it is so incredibly advocated for.
And it was also like if you were in like a weird situation
like at a freshman party or something,
like Gia just told me she's like,
well, I would never do that.
But like everybody was pressured when I was growing up.
Oh, no.
Yeah.
My mom's told me things where she's just like everyone else was.
I mean nothing like drugs.
It's just kind of like the drinking is like everyone else was.
So it's just you go along with it.
But with drinking,
it's like the new smoking,
but people don't know and all these kids are like sneaking alcohol everywhere
and their young brains.
And I'm telling you just from being a neuroscientist,
they're little brain cells.
They're just like that.
And guess what happens with alcohol?
You don't get them back.
Yeah, that's the question too.
It's like why are you drinking and smoking?
What are you trying to escape from?
Like you can learn your own mental health so well to where if you feel like you need a fix,
you have the fix internally.
You're like, okay, that person made me feel bad.
Okay.
Well, I know my worth.
I know I'm beautiful.
Let me write things down.
Let me get ready for the day.
Like what makes me feel better?
Anyone who's drinking,
smoking,
no matter what age,
I don't think that person's ready to be in a relationship.
And if they're drinking and smoking and they're like,
well, we're doing this because other people are doing it.
That's like an even worse answer.
It's an even worse answer.
And then the other thing that's scary is like when you put yourself out there,
there are people that are going to try to get you to do it really hard.
Like a lot of kids,
they're going to go out and party and they're going to turn like 12, 13.
And you guys were amazing like that.
You never were partying,
never doing.
No, we still don't.
We still don't.
There was a party last night.
We were,
we were invited.
We were like,
we're not going to go,
you know?
I don't really see the point of it.
Like nothing really comes out of it.
I would so much rather be home,
get a good night's rest and then like be productive the next day and go to the gym.
And instead of like staying out all night and partying,
it just like,
it just makes me feel so bad the next day.
My version of partying is like going to a nice dinner with the people I care about.
If you don't want to be average,
you have to make different choices.
And most marriages now end in divorce.
So it's like,
if you don't want your marriage ending in divorce,
you have to make different choices.
You have to be different.
You have to show up different.
And even,
Gia,
for you,
you're 14.
I completely think you're so mature for your age.
But even though you are probably definitely ahead of most 14 year olds,
doesn't mean that you should still like go off and date.
And I know it's tempting.
At the end of the day,
you're going to do what you want.
But what's the point of like rushing and putting a label on things?
Like what's the difference?
You can still be friends.
You can still hang out.
Like you're just learning yourself.
Like what makes you feel good?
What makes you anxious?
Like even us saying that like partying doesn't make us feel good.
Like we learned that because we went through it and then we learned,
oh,
I wake up.
It didn't make me feel good.
Let me not do that again.
Like there's so many little tiny baby things,
even with food.
Oh,
I ate that.
Didn't make me feel good.
Let me not eat that.
There's so many things every single day you learn and you haven't had as many days as you probably want to,
to learn about yourself before you get into that.
I feel like we've been saying like a lot of negatives to dating at a young age.
I wanted to say something positive that came out of our relationship.
Yes, there are some pros as well.
We were dating through the most developmental years of our life.
And I think that's like something really special because we went through all of those things together.
And we'll like always have that like with us whenever we're older.
I really do think social media has like damaged relationships as a whole in our society.
What's sacred anymore?
And that is why also here's my pro for Jan Ryder dating.
That is protective in a way because I trust Ryder.
They would keep each other sacred.
They're not going to move too fast.
Ryder is a really good kid.
I just feel like I see all these other boys that are doing all these other things.
And then Ryder's just there just with me not doing anything.
I'm just like, he's just like completely not like any of those people.
And another cool thing about you and Ryder is I think they share the same goals and like have the same like ambitions,
which is like really, really cool.
Like we did and I think it's like helped our relationship so much.
So when Brooks asked me, she's like, well, do you think that she's too young to date?
Because it's like, and I saw Talia pop up in my feed for some reason.
I was like, I so like love this girl.
I want her on our podcast.
Like I agree.
I'm like, I agree.
And then I'm like, wait, but also I love Jelly on and they made it and they could be the next.
I don't think it's impossible.
I just think some of the rough times that you're like, we're so happy.
We went through these together.
Like were they avoidable though?
Like if you waited longer and it's not like you'd be kicking Ryder out of your life.
Like see you never like you would still be around each other friends, whatever.
But I just feel like when you put the pressure of like relationship and then it's like you have to essentially take care of each other.
I just feel like at that age, you're not ready.
And even if you were, I feel like if your 10 years later self made the decision for you now, she would be like, wait, even if you're completely ready, it's your soulmate.
Why not wait?
And why not take those years?
No, that's true.
Because also when it comes down to it, when you pray on it, you're going to find out what the right thing to do is.
I also still think you can work on yourself when you're in a relationship.
I do think it's possible.
You just have to like dedicate the time and like you have to have boundaries and you actually have to like want it.
I completely agree.
But are they ready to do that?
Do most like 14 year old do it?
But I agree.
For me, I look at myself though and let's say like 10 years from when I did start dating.
If I didn't, I am glad that I did because I know how boy crazy obsessed with dating I was at that age.
And if it wasn't him, it would have been someone else and it could have been someone a lot worse.
That is a good point.
Most guys aren't like you and don't mature the way you matured.
And like most girls also aren't like you Eliana, where you were also mature and had gone through a lot of experiences at your age.
So it's like, what if it's just avoidable altogether?
Also, I hate that it's like don't do it.
Avoid it.
It's like such an exciting thing to be alone.
Like why is it so bad?
Like being single and being alone?
Like I think that's exciting.
Like you get to know yourself and learn yourself every single day.
No, my best thing right now is like I said, my 40s are the best part of my life because like I can do whatever I want.
Maybe I never got that and I'm going to share then.
I was your age.
I had a boyfriend, then another boyfriend, another boyfriend, serial monogamous, two marriages that didn't last.
And honestly, it's like I never got to know myself.
Do you guys set aside time to like do things alone?
Like do you go to the gym alone?
Like how do you make that work?
I will be honest with him.
I think if he could spend every waking moment with me, he could.
Is that a bad thing?
I think it's helpful because I do think most of my friends in healthy relationships, the guy wants to be with them all the time.
I think part of it is also that they do mature slower.
And so I think they're part of where we were when we were younger.
Like I want to be around them all the time.
Can I just say Ryder's definitely like that.
Me and Ryder both want to be around each other.
We both definitely take time.
It's definitely good to have your separate time to definitely work on yourself.
And also being able to have like female relationships.
It took me like a long time to figure out how important that was.
So many friendships get ended because of boys.
Yeah.
Most of fights that I've had are because of boys.
It's so avoidable though, because I've never fought with friends over boys.
Like it's normal, but I don't think it's like unavoidable if you're not being boy crazy.
Let me ask a question from a guy.
Would those fights happen less if you just like had a long-term boyfriend that you didn't have to fight over?
I think most of the thing is that either it's jealousy.
Someone's trying to like sabotage relationship to get him.
I've lost a friend because of that.
It's hard to find good friends.
I'm learning even now like I've always had like high standards for guys.
And I'm like wait, like I need to have those standards for my friends too.
Because especially like and I'm sure you guys can relate to this.
Like being like wise at a young age and having these experiences.
It's like people latch on to that and they just suck your energy from you and they're takers.
Like I'm such a giver.
Like I just want to give everyone everything.
And like they will just take as much as they can and then ask for more and it's hard to set boundaries.
And I actually talked to a divorce lawyer recently.
I was like, what's your advice?
And he's like to have a successful relationship.
You need two happy people who then come together because most relationships,
which is why most end in divorce are two people relying on each other for their happiness.
Like you have to be good knowing like even for you guys,
like if you were going to break up tomorrow knowing like you would be able not to not be sad not to have no pain,
but you would be able to pick yourself up from the pain and like know how to handle it.
That is really true.
And it's very hard if you only in a relationship because I didn't know how to be happy on my own until my 40s.
It's hard, especially with social media like being happy without your phone.
I always say most people they're like, I don't know what I want.
I'm anxious.
I'm depressed.
And I'm like, do you spend time alone?
They're like, yeah, I'm like, what are you doing?
They're like, I'm on my phone.
I'm like, so you're spending time alone ingesting other people's lives.
You don't actually spend time alone.
Like for me just doing like fun things on your own or journaling sitting at the beach in silence,
like getting to know yourself like so many people they don't know who they are.
And then of course, you're anxious and depressed.
I would be anxious and depressed too.
If I was like relying on other people going to TikTok for like a quick hit of dopamine eating processed food and sugar all the time,
not working out drinking smoking being around bad people like obviously you're anxious and depressed.
How would you not be like give yourself grace but also like make the effort to like show up every single day and learn about yourself
and like get to a better point because even if you are young and you know a lot about yourself,
like there's always more work you can do.
The thing is we're afraid to be like alone with like our own thoughts.
Yeah.
Do you guys have inner voices?
Yeah.
I don't think so.
I don't either.
What?
50% of people don't have an internal dialogue.
What do you mean?
I don't have like an inner voice.
I mean, I'll think my own thoughts but like I don't.
But it's not like going back and forth.
I should do this.
I should do that.
No, I don't think so either.
I actually would guess that about you Ellie.
Well that's why it takes me so long to like fall asleep because I'm constantly thinking.
I think I have like what you guys have where I have like the inner dialogue and stuff and it takes me like a while to fall asleep sometimes too
because I'm just like constantly.
I think I overthink a lot.
You know what the thing is?
I think is the biggest problem for kids your age is sleep.
Like sleeping too much or too little?
No, their schedules are crazy with sleep because your serum cortisol levels are so messed up when you have a bad sleep schedule
and that makes you stressed.
That makes you crying.
It makes you crazy.
Basically makes you crazy.
That says so much about your love for yourself though because for so many people,
they know it doesn't make them feel good and they do it anyways because it's easier.
So like for you to be like I'm going to sleep by 11.
I sleep from 12 to 6 every night, put my head on the pillow and pass out.
What's your sleep schedule tell you?
Oh gosh.
See this is something I'm still learning about myself is like what sleep schedule works the best for me.
It's like such a small thing, but I was waking up at like 5 a.m.
That was a rough face.
I was like literally trying to be perfect.
I would wake up at 5 a.m. walk a mile to Pilates, do Pilates, walk a mile back, cook.
Like I feel like-
I did that when I was your age.
It's hard because when you really dive deep into self-love, you just want to keep doing more and more and more.
There's like so many things that make you feel so good.
It's so nice to get past the phase of craving sugar.
Yeah.
That's where I'm at is I used to just have so many intense cravings for just like sugar.
I got a tall pumpkin chai from Starbucks the other day.
I could not even drink half of it.
I was like my body was just like-
I feel like the first patch of like not eating sugar and stuff is like really hard.
Kids just love it so much.
Like all these kids are just loving it.
And it's just such easy access.
You know something I think is really a problem amongst teenagers now?
Energy drinks.
I mean again, it's in moderation.
But honestly, not even in moderation when they're not 18.
Like their brains are developing.
Why do you need it?
I mean, I guess everything in moderation, but not bad things.
Right, right.
No, and like it will if I'm going in.
I'm just like I need like a little boost, you know, every once in a while.
I just want to say because why does things that are bad have to be good in moderation?
Is it kind of crazy?
But sometimes like I drink like a Starbucks drink or if I have sugar, like it makes me tired.
Every high has a low.
So like you get all that energy and then what?
You crash.
Even with sugar like I try really hard not to eat anything processed
because it's like right in the moment and then you crash
and even the dopamine in your brain like from like a chocolate bar.
Like you get that dopamine and then you're like really sad after.
It's like all these little things with like mental health that like are so normal.
Like it's normal to be like anxious and sad sometimes
but everyone's like afraid of like addressing those things
and like sitting in the sadness.
So they try to fix it with whatever fix there is.
I feel like your age like 20 some year olds right now,
but there's another issue.
It's like if you're not such an overachiever and constantly achieving
like you're not okay with like relaxing and just doing nothing.
Yeah.
Because it's like everybody wants to be like a crazy achiever.
I love days and like weeks are like packed with like events,
but I also like the days where I just get to chill in my bed.
You want to have everything doing so much
and those days are just as valuable and awesome and special
and you can like put that marble in the jar and be completely happy that you did it.
It's like you have to give yourself that permission to do nothing.
I'm not talking to teenagers out here
because they're all giving themselves permission to do nothing all the time.
Yeah.
One thing I've learned is like even like this weekend,
like I had a rot day,
but I got my 10k steps in because I know that getting into the sun
and like moving my body.
Why would we ever need a full rot day to literally not even go on a walk
as if we're like incapable of even walking like don't get up.
Don't move.
It's like I think there's a balance like okay have a rot day,
but you can still like eat good.
Maybe go on a walk like get outside.
I'm saying like chill days like either like not filming
or just like not being so packed with like events.
Yeah.
We had a chill day in Florida.
We got to go to the mall and just hang out.
Just walk around chill.
I barely ever take days like that either.
But okay.
So let's go back to if you would give Gia advice knowing her situation.
We're going to go around the table and I'm going to go last
and we're going to vote whether if she wanted to go out with Ryder
would we approve her going out with him
and then Gia you can answer or not answer.
We'll see at the end of the podcast if you want to.
First off,
I guess I would support it and say that it would be good.
But I think if it is something that you guys are going to go into seriously,
you have to really want it,
you know,
and that was like something that was like really big in Eliana
and I's relationship because it would have been really easy for us
to just like go our separate ways.
We stuck through it with each other because we loved each other
and we just really wanted it to work at the end of the day.
That would just be my advice and also like to have patience.
For the subscribers out here people who are 12 13 14 years old,
like not knowing them at all.
What would you that your advice be for them?
I want a boyfriend or girlfriend.
I probably say to wait a while because I mean all of our situations
like a little bit different in the entertainment industry.
Before we come to Ellie,
I'm going to ask one question of Talia.
What do you mean when you say dating with intention?
Like we said earlier a lot of people want a partner,
but they're not ready to be one
and I think if you're going into a relationship like you said
with the intention of like this is not just going to be butterflies
and rainbows all the time.
You're learning a whole nother person like think of how many years
it takes to learn yourself like you spend your life doing that.
So going in with the intention of getting to really know someone
like what makes them happy,
what doesn't like figuring out all the little things
while still having like your own time
and when I talk about it online,
I think a lot of it is like dating with intention for one single person,
not just dating for fun,
like actually dating for a serious relationship to find your soulmate
not just like oh, this is fun.
Like I'm just going to go who cares what happens.
Dating like that.
I think as a woman who's like older now that takes away your self-worth.
It really does and you don't see it over time.
It's like doing small things like if you say okay,
I have one drink a day and then I have two or just one over time.
It's your habits like become like who you are and how you perceive yourself.
Yeah, and if it feels that good to get attention or a compliment from a guy
you should look inward and ask yourself why
because it should not feel that good
and like make your entire day for a guy to have said that you're pretty
like that should be something that you know
and like a compliment and an insult I always say are just another person's opinion.
So like at the end of the day, it's what you think about yourself.
Ellie, what do you think about Gia and Ryder?
Do you think that they're old enough and mature enough to date?
What would you advise them as Gia's big sister here?
I mean, I would say kind of a little bit what Jensen said like
are you willing to put in the work because that is most important at the end of the day.
Are you ready to be there and stick things out
and talk for hours and hours and hours about like if you after you have a fight
or are you going to want to just walk away and just not deal with it
because things are going to get hard.
Take a look at yourself as well too.
And do you love yourself enough and know yourself well enough?
I'm 14, so I don't know how well I can know myself.
Right, exactly. That's kind of the point.
But I feel like for myself right now, I feel pretty good with myself.
That's great.
But like I feel pretty confident in myself.
How long have you and Ryder actually known each other now?
Three years.
And they spent a lot of time together.
I met him when I was 11.
And they really have spent a lot of time traveling all through all over the country together.
Yeah, we spent weeks with each other.
We just spent two weeks with each other.
In the same house?
In the same household.
So would you give your blessing or not?
Oh, good. No, 100%.
I think you guys are both really genuinely nice, good kids.
I think you're surrounded by the right people, being raised by great people.
And I think that's most important.
And if you guys are happy and willing to put in the work
and you know that this is something you want long term,
then it's just like I would be more than happy to support it.
A lot of times we get like into relationships
and then we feel really bad about
and then you just keep dragging it on and dragging on.
And to your point, if you're not ready to make those good decisions,
then don't.
Yeah, you're setting up for heartbreak, which is horrible.
I think all the heartbreaks I've been through are the worst times of life.
And I don't want to be so like flippant about what actually are hard things in life.
Like people having issues with their health or death in the family or things like that.
But heartbreak feels like death sometimes.
Well, you know, like some old people, once their partner dies,
they die because they just like give up on life.
Like heartbreak is real.
If you weren't with him, you would never have to deal with that.
And dealing with heartbreak at a young age is really hard.
Now it's Talia's turn.
I always say like I plant the seed, it's up to you to water it.
And like I would never judge someone else's garden.
Like I would never be like, oh my gosh,
like she's so mature for getting into a relationship,
should have listened.
Like I would never judge you.
Like you know yourself, you have your own inner voice
and like your own inner compass,
like taking you where you're supposed to go.
So if you feel like it's truly right,
like I'm not going to tell you or anyone what to do.
But if you had a child who was 14, what would you tell your child?
I would raise them and like really teach them from a young age.
Like most important decision you make in your life
is who you decide to marry.
And if you're dating for marriage,
which I hope you would be,
then like that's a huge decision.
And hopefully like you make this decision once in your life.
Like that's the goal.
Like you choose that person and they're your person.
So like I would just say not to take it lightly
and to like really take it as a big decision
and like really listen to yourself,
journal about it, think about it.
But obviously like...
Goodness gracious, I wish I would have gotten this advice.
That's why I wanted her on this podcast
because I'm like, they're not going to go to her TikTok.
Because it's my mom was even...
My mom was hesitant,
but she just saw how happy and excited I was.
And she's like, I just don't want to get in the way of that.
Like because especially growing up in the dance studio,
I never really had any consistent friends,
never really even like a crushes or anything.
So my mom was just like, this is her first like consistent...
I mean, your mom probably didn't think it was like going to go anywhere.
No, my mom thought it was going to be like a two month kind of...
But then your mom also like got to know me
and I think she liked me.
I think like if we can like do anything
like with our platform
and that's why I really want to start this podcast
because we have this platform.
We're entertaining all these like 12, 13, 14 year olds
and they're like, yay, put out another video.
Like I'll go on Snapchat
and get like a thousand messages in a day.
We're crashing out.
When's the next video coming?
Oh my God.
Like post it now.
We have nothing to watch.
We're bored.
Not that I don't want them to watch our videos,
but it's like, why do you need to fill such a void all the time?
Because already they're like,
we want something to fill the void
because we don't want to do the work
to actually grow as like a human
because it's hard work,
hard work not to distract yourself.
And to that point,
I would also say never to put anyone on a pedestal.
Like you don't know who they are,
what they've gone through.
Like I feel like it's easy with social media
to look at someone and be like,
oh my gosh and like be obsessed with them.
But it's like they're literally just a person.
I feel like from a young age my parents were like,
okay, like who cares?
Yeah, don't put them on a pedestal.
Put yourself on a pedestal.
Exactly.
Yeah, and then be inspired by them
and that's what I hope.
And I think actually we did this first podcast last week
and so many of the kids were like,
oh my gosh, like we really know like the Rock Squad
are nice people.
They're like normal people.
Like we're inspired about them.
Like we don't want people to worship them
because that's like,
you know, it doesn't do well for yourself
because then if you're worshiping someone else
like who are you?
Just like, you know.
Just think that there's so much pressure
especially like if someone has more followers
and you're,
everybody says that they're so much so pretty
and all their comments.
I feel like social media has a huge toll
on every single person.
Oh, it does.
I, even when I was like 13,
I hated myself.
I just would look at,
even kids younger than me,
I would look at myself
and compare myself to them
and I was like, why don't I look like them?
Like it was really sad.
I went through a lot of mental health issues.
Yeah.
I feel like when you're looking at someone
and you're seeing them across the room,
you're like,
they have like 3 million followers.
I'm saying this for you
because and all the girls your age,
it's the same.
They're at a party,
an influencer event
and they're looking around like,
oh my gosh, these people are so much better than me.
They're not better than you
but that they think,
they really think that they're better.
Well, it's hard to do inner work
when you're on social media too,
especially when you're young
because it's like you aren't obsessed with yourself
yet you have all these people
saying they're obsessed with you
and you're perfect.
It's like such a hard balance between.
Oh, yeah.
I think because of like all that,
another like piece of advice is like
when you're spending time with the writer,
set aside time
when you guys don't have your phones.
Like spend time with each other
when you're not on your phones
because like that's something Eliana and I will do.
We'll put our phones away like for a dinner.
It's so important to just be in the moment with someone.
Yeah.
And Brooke's taught me that.
She's like,
mom, we're gonna have dinner
and you need to put your phone down.
Like I,
it's like you're a screen ager.
Yeah.
Stop.
Sometimes when that happens,
I'm getting texts from my managers being like,
hello.
Hello.
Where are you?
And I'm just like,
oh.
You've trained people
how they can expect your response.
If someone texts you
and you was texting right back,
then they're like,
they go to expect that.
If a text comes into your phone,
you do not need to text back right away.
Well, Nicole,
I think it's your turn.
So I guess we got to know a yes and a yes.
She's like a maybe.
I wouldn't judge you,
but I would advise against it.
That's me.
Yeah.
Advise against it.
Makes sense.
Would I support writer and Gia dating?
In a way,
I'm a Ria shipper
because they're so cute,
but...
And you've also seen us.
Yes,
I've seen you.
And I would like pray that you guys
would be meant to be,
honestly,
because I think that you guys are so cute together
and like not just cute,
but like really amazing friends,
like amazing relationship.
Do I support the dating?
Honestly,
I think maybe if we were older.
I think maybe if you were older.
Like I support like everyone's opinion,
honestly.
Maybe good advice is maybe,
you know,
would crush for now.
Just be like good,
really,
really good friends.
And then a couple years down the road,
I mean,
maybe even not that long,
like two,
like 16.
If you want to write,
you're going to be 16 in a year.
And if you still feel the same and no,
then I'm going to get so much hate for this.
You guys,
I'm going to be like,
what?
Let me a date.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
The kids are going to go crazy.
I'm like,
now they understand why maybe at least.
Yeah,
because I just see me and Ryder,
like basically like us being in a relationship.
It's more than just a couple online.
It's a real thing.
Yeah.
And they have a real relationship for whatever the relationship is at 14 and 15 years old.
It's very real.
They're always together and their best friends and they're so close.
It's like,
I would just love to drink that out so they can have better chance,
a better chance.
We also live in two different States.
It's hard.
Yeah.
Did you live in Texas?
Yeah.
That is hard.
Yeah.
So it's hard.
All right.
Let's give one last piece of advice to the audience.
If you're comparing yourself to someone,
just know that same exact person could be comparing themselves to you.
I've been in that situation quite a few times where I've looked at someone and been like,
gosh,
why can't I have this that they have or this feature?
And I found out from them that they were doing the same thing to me.
So just know that if you feel so down about yourself,
there is most likely someone out there right now wishing they could have something the same as you.
That's really good.
That is so true.
I would say to look inward and evaluate like where you can grow.
Always try to be better every single day.
And also to listen to your internal compass because you know,
what's right for you.
Like at the end of the day,
you know,
or you can pray,
talk to God,
whatever you believe in.
But I would just say to trust yourself,
but also self-love and confidence and trust comes from your action.
So like actually put the work into your relationship with yourself too.
So I was kind of going to say the same thing as both of you guys.
Usually the piece of advice that I give every single podcast is just be yourself because I am very myself.
And some things are good about that.
Some things are not good.
And you learn to like sometimes hide some things or not say some things.
But like I think it's always good to just be yourself because you don't want to be like someone else.
Someone else is probably going through something that you don't want to go through or someone else.
You know what I mean?
Just like always be grateful for what you have and always be grateful to be you.
You know what I mean?
I would say to never give up on your goals because you're never too young or too old to achieve whatever you want to achieve in life.
So always keep pushing forward and never give up.
I really love that.
All right.
I have advice for all of you guys too because you're all so young and I'm the oldest one at this table by a lot.
Be present because you guys might think that time goes slow.
This is a big one.
I've already been thinking about recently.
I'm telling you guys and I'm going to say this.
I said this on the last podcast.
Someone asked me the other day.
What are your struggles right now with your channel growing so much with so many opportunities?
And I said, honestly, like I am so blessed to do what I do.
But every day I wake up and I'm like, I'm trying to be present whether it's just before I realize this.
I would get up and I brush my teeth really fast and I'd make my coffee and I get ready and be like, okay, wait, what do I have to do?
Should I go to the gym first?
Should I do this?
And it was like constantly like, wow, all these things are annoying.
I don't even want to brush my teeth.
It's so, takes too long.
I have all this crap to do.
It's so every little thing.
I didn't like give any like thought to like what I was doing.
I wasn't present at all.
I was just going through the motions to get everything done.
And somebody asked me, I said, do you know what the worst thing in the world is?
You're going to wake up and you're going to say, wow, it's a beautiful morning and you're going to blink and this day's done.
And it's that one more marble in the jar.
It's done.
And hopefully you get another day tomorrow.
But that day is also going to go down like so fast.
And then when you guys are like your age right now, you're already in your spirits at 18.
Imagine when you're into like, I'm done with at least half my life now.
And it sucks because like all I want is like one more day every day where it's beautiful and we get to do this and we get to try.
I've even thought about this.
Like at night, I night too.
And it's like randomly.
I'm just like, I just take advantage of these days, especially since I always have something to do.
It's just like, usually I'm super busy or like I'm on a trip.
It's just like, wow, this day just went by super fast.
I don't even know what I just did today.
I feel like I'm never ever.
So I think the advice is slow down every moment, like give it your attention.
Like even if you're like brushing your teeth or you're thinking about what you're going to do and just have so much gratitude in every single minute.
And then you're going to be so much happier.
Also tell someone you love them.
That's true.
Put your phone down because like, do you want to spend years of your life glued to your phone scrolling?
Or would you like rather be in the moment and like experience life with other people rather than just like whatever is happening on here?
No, and I'll say like, this is interesting too.
Because like my mom, my sister, like you're always on your phone.
You're always doing this.
You're always like, I actually enjoy that.
But I can like slow down and be like, I'm actually going through, you know, notes on this video or I'm posting a short or doing that.
You know, I'm going to enjoy even that process.
You enjoy the annoying things because it's like, at least you get time.
You know, time is just like, that's the one thing.
We just can't make more of it.
I remember being your age and I was so hyper aware how young I was.
I was like, okay, I need to appreciate this because I'm only like 14.
Like I know, like it almost like stressed me out.
I was like scared to get older because I thought I would look back and like wish I was that age.
I think also like life does keep getting better.
I think that's a good thing.
And here's the last thing I would say.
So I want you guys in the audience.
You guys are slow down, not wish the time away.
Oh, I can't wait till school's over.
I can't wait till the weekend.
You're going to wish you still had time in school someday.
When I was young, I was like, I can't wait to be 18 or 19 or like,
I was always like looking up to the people who are older than me.
And like now I'm finally at that age.
And I'm like, I wish I was 14 or 13 again.
It was like, I have like so many more responsibilities now.
I'm like, I don't know.
Everybody needs to like slow down.
Enjoy life while it's still sunshine and rainbows.
Exactly.
Even the kids don't think it's sunshine and rainbows because they're like hating their lives in school.
And then they hate school and I'm like, school really wasn't that bad.
I struggle with sugar.
I love sugar.
I want a donut from Starbucks right now.
Don't eat sugar if you can handle it.
But also love your body for exactly how it is right now.
Because it's perfect if you can walk around on legs.
Girls are hating on their bodies so much right now.
That like, that's also why they want the validation for the boyfriend.
Because they're like, oh, someone tell me I'm beautiful.
Like how dumb, we all have a body that we can like, and guys don't care half the time.
Like they're just like any girl.
They're like, I just feel like people are getting in relationships for the wrong reasons.
And that's when they mess up and that's when they have bad heartbreaks
because they don't even know what they're doing.
Yeah.
Go tell someone that you love them and that they're perfect how they are.
Alright, so you guys.
We actually do have one more question.
Gia.
I can't believe that.
You almost escaped.
Yeah.
I almost forgot this question.
Alright, Gia.
After all of this amazing information from this beautiful couple and this beautiful young woman,
do you want to date Ryder?
Well, I think I...
What?
