Hi everyone welcome back to my YouTube channel I'm Dylan Today I'm going to show you some exercises
e tennis wall you can build I'm right here at this wall and what I can show you is
You can do countless different exercises using just a tennis ball and your own body
All you need is a racket and a ball and you'ready to start The
ennis ball acts as a hitting partner and also functions as a ball machine As it progresses
at the ball comes back to you you can keep hitting it The great thing about the wall is that whe
you hit the ball faster it will come back to you even faster and if you hit
slower it will return slower You can also add a bit of variety by incorporating
different short shots with added backspin allowing the ball to return more effectively
gher or even deeper toward you Another great thing is that when you hit the ball it will bounce back quite well and
As high as a short serve ball and a bit more Here are the exercises
right now A good exercise to start with is alternating right and backhand shots You ca
find the rhythm while maintaining smoothness on the toes as they alternate
deep shots In tennis controlling the speed of the ball is crucial
swings accelerating the racket and hitting slightly slower but with greater speed You can generate
great power generated by rotating the legs and upper torso at impac
e ball When making a backhand shot it's important to ensure your shoulders
stand with your legs crossed and your feet in a closed stance Also try leaning forward
e fairway when making a short shot As you can see in this video I'm executing a combination of
short controlled hits and drops Alternating a groundstroke with a volley is a quite challenging exercise bu
can be very helpful both when moving away from and approaching the network In this exercise the objective is to position yourself
beneath the background line As you can see I've placed cones as the background line The objective
Don't move behind the baseline and try to hit balls on the rise or half-volleys
If necessary the one-and-one serve is a powerful strategy to focus on during training
It's very similar to when you're playing a tennis match Here you can see I'm serving and
rying to make my forehand shot on the next stroke The serve-and-two is another added variation
Serve one more time Once you've completed your serve and your first shot aim to make the next ball
Here there are two variables when striking the highest and lowest balls When hitting the highest ball
you want to add a bit more spin above the net hoping the ball will reac
gher and deeper And the lowest ball is when you strike the ball with greater aggression and
s will stay lower above the net Using the wall on the finish is a great way to
find your rhythm You can hit the ball down against the wall so it bounces back with
a high kick so you can follow through to the next one Make sure to move your feet for
place yourself in the correct position In this exercise I demonstrate the closed position and the
open stance on the backhand side You can see that on shorter balls I can take a step
Proceed with a closed stance for tighter shots and use an open stance for wider deeper balls
One of my favorite tennis ball volley drills is alternating between the
right-handed and reverse-handed This is great when you can maneuver your hand upon impact
perform the exercises I hope you enjoyed the 10 ball exercises You can incorporate them into
s to some of your training sessions if you don't have a practice partner to train w
