I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride. With sword and pistol by my side.
Many a young maid lost her bowels to my trade.
Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John. Well, Tominy released something new. Oh good. First new thing of the
It seems like it's been a while since we've seen anything from him.
It's been a while since we've done anything from him. Well, no, we did something around
Christmas time. Ignoring the Christmas thing. How was the Christmas truce?
Yeah, it was a live cover of the Christmas truce. Anyway, he teamed up with Callie Sundberg,
who's a former member of his band, ex-Sein-Rein-Sied. This is before
his current band that he started. He's now a member of Charlie Shred. Sorry, as I forget.
Anyway, they did a cover of Highwayman.
Basically a rock cover from- Do I know this song?
You might know this song. I knew this song. It was notably done by the Highwaymen.
Well, originally, go back, in 1977 the song was originally released by Jimmy Webb.
Okay. Then Glen Campbell did a cover of it in 1979.
I probably know that version.
Okay. It was then heard by, well, and it was the inspiration for the name of,
the super group, the Highwaymen. Namely, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson,
and Chris Christopherson. They recorded it in 1984.
I can know from that, too, then.
Yes. That's it.
Maybe I do know it.
Cat is breaking things.
He's trying to get in here.
I think. Or he's trying to get into the-
Could be in the other room.
She figured out how to open the-
Pocket doors.
Pocket doors by head-butting them, I think.
Yeah. So now we have a wedge.
Yes. Now we have a doorstop.
Which is a wedge. Hard to keep from sliding.
So the song itself, according to AI here,
it's a song about a single soul reincarnated through different lives across history,
embodying the spirit of adventure and resilience as a 17th century robber, a sailor,
a Hoover Dam builder, and a futuristic starship captain,
all driven by the same restless desire to explore and remain,
even as bodies perish, symbolizing life's eternal cycle.
Well, that sounds pretty good.
And speaking of AI, the video was created by Tommy using AI generated videos,
using real pictures and Photoshop to bring the story to life.
You know, I haven't seen a lot of AI stuff.
So we get to poke fun at the video because it's AI.
Well, I'm curious to see what it looks like because, you know-
This is a bit cheesy.
Well, I mean, a couple of days ago,
we did Ellie Sherlock with the purple raincoat because of Stranger Things.
Purple raincoat, purple raincoat, purple raincoat.
Yeah, some of these AI alternative endings that I've seen for Stranger Things,
which people commented they made a better ending than the writers did.
But yeah, I don't understand why Hollywood just does it.
Like, why pay millions and tens of millions to do celebrities?
Do it all on IA now.
Some of them are getting pretty good.
AI, what did I say?
You said IA.
AI.
Anyway.
So anyway, that rambling rant is over.
Yes.
Before we get going, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
What was I going to say?
Oh, the ending, however, could have been worse.
It could have been written by the same people who did Lost.
I don't know.
After, how many, what?
Like, seven years of them going,
no, they're not dead.
They're dead.
And they're in purgatory or whatever.
It's kind of like, after seven years of denying it, it's kind of like,
oh, the ending.
Oh, what are we going to do for an ending?
Oh, let's just do what we said it wasn't.
Okay.
Yeah, well, that's just like these writers versus singers.
They kept saying all this stuff isn't going to happen.
It hasn't happened.
Yeah.
They were hyping their own thing by making stuff up,
which admittedly is what writers do.
Unfortunately, none of the stuff they made up was in it.
Well, yeah, and then apparently they released a documentary,
like, behind the scenes, which actually did
prove that they were lying the entire time in all these interviews.
Like, why would you?
It's like, I don't know.
I think it's going to end up hurting them in the long run,
because they have another series that's supposed to be coming out on Netflix,
which I think, I don't know.
Anyway, nothing to do with this.
Just rambling on about nothing.
I sure hate this life.
I don't know.
I think it's pretty good for AI.
I've noticed a couple of janky things already.
Oh, yeah.
Like, let's see if I just roll this backwards slightly.
The horse doesn't seem right either.
There.
There's a good one behind him.
Yeah.
The gangplank to get on the ship,
which A, doesn't go all the way up,
and B, doesn't connect onto the dock.
Yeah.
That's a good one.
But I don't know.
I mean, they're getting, like I say,
they're not a billion dollar movie industry company.
I mean, they're just doing this on whatever
computer Tommy has in the basement, basically.
Yeah, and software that allows them to do it.
Yeah, probably most of it free,
because, you know, who's going to pay for it, really?
Oh, he should.
I'm sure he has money.
I mean, that's on the other hand.
Oh, yeah.
But still, you know.
You're going to do the free thing first,
because it's kind of like,
if he does more videos like this,
then we'll go,
ooh, he bought that.
If it's kind of a one-off,
it becomes kind of like,
yep, that was free.
All right, play.
You know, and I don't know if I actually have ever heard this song.
I was actually about to ask that if you had.
See, I knew it, because
I knew, although I'd forgotten because it's been
so long since I was necessarily listening to that particular type of music,
but I knew of the Highwaymen,
because, you know, when you have four quite large names get together,
you tend to listen and go,
what's this all about then?
Especially, you know, when it's kind of like,
you like at least one of them,
Johnny Cash.
Some of my followers' work,
it's kind of like,
oh, he's gotten together with a couple of mates
whose names I recognise,
so I might not follow them exactly,
but I recognise the names,
so therefore I should check this out,
because I'm probably going to like it.
So, and again, like I said,
they named themselves after this song as well.
Yeah.
Fly a starship
Across the universe divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a Highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop already
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, again, again, again, again, again, again
I don't know.
I liked it.
I thought AI did a pretty darn good job on that.
You know, I mean, obviously you're gonna have,
it's not perfect,
but there again, like I said,
you're using either free software or cheap software.
I mean, if you are a studio,
you're going to have such a better,
you're going to have more time to,
you know, redo scenes and fix them and stuff.
Yeah, because a lot of times,
you know, having, you know,
we've played with AI a little bit.
Yeah, I did.
And it, it,
Our one channel's AI,
or the, what, the,
the, uh, the welcome trailer.
Yeah.
On replaying the past as AI.
And I mean, it, there's a few little,
Yeah, there's a few, isn't there?
But it's,
All we did is type in kind of what we wanted to say.
Yeah.
I, I find it fun, you know,
like when, what do you think we did with the Christmas,
the Christmas video that we did,
when you kind of like throw
some of these old photographs at it and basically have it
animate the photograph a little bit.
Yeah.
That stuff, like I find fun because it's,
Yeah, it brings a bit more,
it brings a bit more life into the photograph kind of thing.
Yeah, those are the shorts that we did, yeah.
Yeah, which I find that really amusing and entertaining.
But yeah, for the most part, it's kind of like,
unless you're doing these really expensive, long,
long time taking renders and stuff, it's kind of like,
you know, what you feed in necessarily isn't going to be,
or what, what is spat out isn't necessarily be as good as what
you kind of like fed in almost.
Because some of the amusing animations on like,
like ones we did in that video was a bike jumping off a ramp.
Some of the amusing ones that you had where it kind of like,
The bike just levitates upwards.
Yeah, the evil Knievel, yeah.
Oh, I didn't even think about that one.
I was thinking about the kids.
Oh, the kid, the kid jump.
Yeah, the kid jumping on the bike.
Yeah, I forgot about that.
Yeah.
You have some of the way the bike is, you just went,
Uh, no.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
And those are pretty simple little software too that we used on it.
Yeah, that was just some free stuff.
Unfortunately, YouTube did not like our replay in the past and won't monetize it.
So, so whether or not that channel continues, we don't know.
YouTube apparently don't like us.
We've tried monetizing other channels and they keep declining.
So we don't know what we're doing.
Something wrong.
We don't know what.
Anyway, I did just notice something.
Spelling of highwayman.
Well, and we, we noticed that too,
because we did like the serious catalog and stuff along the time.
Oh yeah.
And craftsman, they didn't have craftsman spelt right.
Yeah, a lot of, a lot of them is kind of like legally different.
Yeah.
So, well, obviously we're going to continue with Tommy.
So if you want to see any of those, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
