Hey Luxury Home Show, I'm your host Arianna,
and today we're in Studio City, California.
Welcome to Casa Lisa.
Originally a 1971 Spanish home,
this has been completely reimagined
into a warm, organic, modern space.
One of the things that makes this home truly special
is all the attention to detail.
See these soft archways?
You see these throughout the entire home,
and it really does a great job of creating
that kind of squeeze and release
as you move through the space.
Something that makes this home rare and exceptional
up here in the hills is that it has 13,000 square feet
of lot space, almost all flat and usable.
Starting out here on the front of the house,
you're gonna start to see some beautiful themes
that you're gonna see architecturally
throughout the entire home.
This was so intentionally designed to be inspired
by a Tulum-style resort.
One detail I see throughout the whole house
are these beautiful vertical fluting lines.
You see it on this warm wood tone on the garage door.
You see some vertical lines
even on this beautiful driveway.
This is the first thing you see
when you come up to the house.
Absolutely stunning first impression.
You also start to see some of this plant life.
And speaking of, let's go to the front yard
where you're gonna see a lot more
of that resort-style landscaping.
So you see a lot of that rich plant life,
greenery that just welcomes you
and helps you feel like you're in a different world.
Beneath my feet are some really beautiful
limestone slate pavers.
You see this all through the front and in the back
where I'm gonna show you the pool a little later.
Another detail teaser here.
See these soft archways?
You see these throughout the entire home.
And it really does a great job
of creating that kind of squeeze and release
as you move through the space.
One of the things that makes this home truly special
is all the attention to detail.
Even on the exterior, you're gonna see things
like this stone sconce surrounding the front door.
And then let's talk about this front door.
This is one of the most beautiful front doors
I've ever seen.
Thin, thin detailing, the fluting here,
and then this beautiful shape, just so artistic.
It just really sets the tone
for the entire artistry of the home.
Originally a 1971 Spanish home,
this has been completely reimagined
into a warm, organic, modern space
using the California trifecta of Roman Portola clay,
white oak, and natural stone throughout.
Starting here in the foyer,
it's this beautiful open foyer
that has so much natural light just spilling through it
thanks to this huge window above the door
and leads your eye right up to this,
such a unique chandelier.
It looks like it's leather belt,
again, very inspired by Tulum and Mexico as a whole,
just a really stunning detail.
This is the staircase that really draws your eye upward
with all these beautiful lines,
independent little niches
so that you could display artifacts from your travels
or even family photos.
Behind me, you'll also start to see
some of those soft, curved arches
that happen throughout the entire home.
But right over here, let's start in the formal living room.
The design of this formal living room
is really anchored by this very unique arched,
fluted clay fireplace.
You can sit here and enjoy company,
conversation, reading a good book.
You also have this built-in cabinetry
for plenty of storage.
And notice how this toe kick at the very bottom
really mirrors that fluting that you see on the fireplace,
just another example of that beautiful attention to detail.
Behind me, you'll also see these floating shelves
finished in that Roman clay,
so symmetrical on both sides of the fireplace,
really completing that warm textural look.
I especially love the choice in couch here.
I love the curvature that really just anchors
around that same fireplace
and creates kind of a circle around the fire
to create conversation and bonding moments.
On both sides of this formal living room
are PRL folding doors,
so you can open those up completely
to have this indoor-outdoor experience,
feel that beautiful canyon breeze just whisking right by.
But before we go out to the backyard,
let's go check out the dining and the kitchen.
This dining room is perfectly centered
as the heart of the home.
I can imagine having some absolutely wonderful
family meals here, inviting over dinner guests.
This dining area works great,
equally well for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
because you have that open, airy feel out to the canyon.
Off to the side here is beautiful built-in cabinetry
with that white oak, a shelf as well,
so that you could display things from your family,
from your home, or you could also use it
as a buffet-style setting
for when you're having dinner parties.
The kitchen is defined
by this beautiful architectural arch here
that helps it feel both secluded and open
and connected to the dining space.
I absolutely love the textural
and color palette of this kitchen.
Everything was chosen with such intention,
again, to just mimic that Tulum kind of resort,
very relaxed feel.
Let's talk about the cabinetry first.
This is a rift-cut white oak,
and you'll notice this really unique detailing on the side.
This is a thin shaker style, but with a bullnose profile.
What that means is that it has that rounded,
very timeless look to help it feel connected,
soft and gentle,
just like the soft arches you see throughout the home.
The designer shared with us
that something that inspired all of those fluted finishings
and even the textures throughout the home
were these hanging pendant lights right here.
They have this beautiful cream color,
that pressed fluting in between,
and it just goes to show that design can be so organic
that you find that one design anchor
and everything else can be based on it
to create that cohesive look.
These countertops are all white lady marble.
It gives such depth.
You don't see depth like this in a lot of stone.
I love the texture, those warm tones throughout.
Not only are they on the countertop,
but it's a full height backsplash behind me,
very intentionally leaving out any upper cabinetry
to really bring that airy, elevated feel to it.
But it does have this nice little floating shelf here
at the top of it,
so you could display little spices on it, little plants,
just in little detail
for all those textural finishes in your kitchen.
Thermador appliances, we have a 48-inch range here.
You have six stovetops, the flat top as well,
and above it, this beautifully detailed fluted hood range.
I absolutely love the placement of this,
as well as the curved finish.
Although the designer decided to opt out
of having any upper cabinetry,
this has no shortage of storage.
There's plenty of storage
underneath this oversized island here.
Behind me, all along, we have storage.
All over here, we have pantry,
as well as the hidden tucked away fridge,
freezer behind these beautiful panels.
You would think that this is another little pantry.
Check it out.
In here, we have a fully hidden butler's pantry.
Come on in, you're gonna see those same design aesthetics
all the way through here,
which just shows the attention to quality and detail
throughout the entire home.
You have the White Lady marble, that custom-ripped oak here.
Inside, you also have a fridge and a freezer tucked away
when you're having those big parties,
maybe some friends over and you need all that storage.
And then this one is a really unique little storage here.
When you open it up,
this could just be another pantry.
You could put anything in,
but what I love is that it's fully equipped
with electrical outlets
so that you can have appliances in here
if you wanna tuck those away.
If you wanted to plug in some vacuums, other utility items,
those are just gonna be tucked away out of sight.
In addition to all of that storage,
you also have additional storage
underneath the kitchen island here,
complete with bar stools
so that you can sit and chat with your family
as you're cooking dinner,
which brings us to the family room.
Beautiful open family room that's just off of the kitchen
so that it feels connected and cohesive
no matter what you're doing throughout the day.
You could have some movie nights here, play some games.
This is a perfect opportunity
to have your television on the wall
with built-in cabinetry,
storage for those board games, card games tucked away.
You'll even notice this detail
of that soft arch around the television.
You also notice around me so many speakers.
There are 26 speakers throughout this home,
so it creates that ambiance no matter where you are,
noting that you can play different music upstairs
versus downstairs.
You can create different vibes all throughout the house.
Now, before I take you outside and upstairs,
I have to show you this powder room.
It's so stunning.
This Portola Roman clay
has been so thoughtfully decided on with this color.
It's a moody kind of wine, plum sort of feel.
You start to see these little personality details.
Every single bathroom in this home has its own personality
while still keeping a very cohesive design intention.
I love the irregular lines, these sconces,
and of course the stone with this beautiful sink built in.
Just off of that powder
is this beautiful office slash bonus room.
I love this choice in color as well.
This is a deep kind of denim blue.
It just really helps you feel focused
and serene at the same time.
And it's really intentionally done with the closets.
So these could be equipped to be a data system,
electrical, totally decked out for your office.
It could also just serve as a full-size closet
if you were using this as a guest bedroom.
Behind you over here is a beautiful en suite bathroom.
I love the showers.
The only one that has that fine fluting detail
in the slates.
You also have the LED backlit irregular mirror,
white oak and limestone beneath your feet.
Just so beautifully done.
Let's head upstairs.
As you walk up the staircase,
you are eye level with this really stunning chandelier.
Again, I have just not seen anything like it.
It gives that beautiful personality
that's throughout the whole home.
At the very top of the steps here,
you have laundry right on the top floor,
which is so convenient.
You have all these bedrooms up here.
So if you need to just run a load of laundry once a week,
or if you have kids who play sports
and you need to run laundry all week long,
so conveniently located.
This is a beautiful representation
of both form and function.
Now I wanna show you the primary suite,
but before we go there,
let's check out these bedrooms.
Each of these three bedrooms on this side of the house
has this beautiful Portola Roman clay
in the color Patagonia.
This was chosen to be both warm and inviting,
but also bold in its own way.
It really sets the tone for all those natural materials.
Over here, you have floor to ceiling
white oak custom closets.
Opening it up, you're gonna see
that it's been so thoughtfully designed
to have both hanging rod space,
as well as plenty of storage, drawers, et cetera.
Welcome to this en suite private bathroom.
Opening up into this beautiful, warm,
almost rosy as a leash tile,
you have gorgeous gold brass rain shower handheld,
as well as a bathtub and a built-in shelf as well.
Behind me, you have another asymmetrical mirror here,
and I love this little hanging sconce, just such details.
Exiting that first bedroom,
you're gonna notice just to my right, this arched detail.
We're gonna follow that hallway down in just a moment.
But over here, we have the second bedroom.
So same plaster all over the walls,
all up onto the ceiling as well.
I absolutely love the canyon view from this bedroom.
This is not just your average secondary bedroom.
This view of the canyon is worth millions on its own.
Behind me, you have floor to ceiling oak custom closets,
and another en suite bathroom in here.
What I love is that every single bathroom
has its own personality.
So this one has this deep, rich blue tiling.
Over here, you have that LED backlit
irregular mirror once again.
And onto the third secondary bedroom.
This is definitely a larger bedroom than the others.
You have beautiful, picturesque views of that canyon,
and that corner lighting just floods this room
with natural light.
Let's check out the en suite.
While the other bathrooms mostly have vertical subway tiles,
this one features horizontal subway tiles,
again, just making it so distinct
from the rest of the house.
We're now entering the primary suite,
which was designed to be
its own Tulum-style resort sanctuary.
Very generously spaced, you feel that warm embrace
of all of the plaster along the walls.
Over here is tucked a beautiful little coffee bar,
so you do not need to go downstairs to the kitchen
to start your morning.
You could make your coffee right here,
overlooking the beauty of the canyon.
Beautiful built-in countertop here,
as well as a beverage cooler and built-in storage.
Let's check out this bathroom.
This is one of the most beautiful master bathrooms
I have ever seen in my life.
You have this gorgeous open shower,
generously sized with multiple shower heads.
You have the handheld, the traditional,
as well as a rain shower head
that has this beautiful three-piece design.
Absolutely stunning.
Coming over here to the twin vanity,
I love this arch detail in the cabinetry.
This is something that you just don't see
in commercial-grade builds.
It's so designer.
Beautiful choice in these sconce lighting fixtures,
the irregular mirrors,
and your open space with the plaster
just really creates that open, airy feel
as you're getting ready in the morning.
Another picture frame window
showing you that beautiful canyon.
You could open these up
and just feel that canyon breeze as you're getting ready.
If you feel like having a soak,
you have this beautiful soaking tub.
Above it, you have one of those arched inlays
so that you could display art here.
If you wanted a little TV, feel free.
And beneath our feet
is this absolutely stunning floor design.
It's a beautiful blend of a peach and that denim blue.
It gives it a really rich, storied look.
Before I show you the private deck out here,
let's check out the closet.
Colors and textures of this closet mesmerize me.
You have this beautiful rift-cut white oak,
but then the built-in LED strips
just really enliven all of the wood.
You also have this built-in makeup vanity
so you could sit here and have your makeup done.
You also have natural light coming in from the side
on this picture frame window off to the left.
And now stepping out onto this beautiful private balcony
off of the master suite,
you just sit here and take in the view
of the blue California skies,
all the way to the San Gabriel Mountains,
all the greenery of the canyon,
and below, the exceptionally done backyard.
Let's go check it out.
I'm gonna take you out to the backyard,
but instead of heading out this way,
let's go through the front yard.
Something that makes this home really rare
and exceptional up here in the hills
is that it has 13,000 square feet of lot space,
almost all flat and usable.
Beneath me is natural grass,
so you could come out here and play recreational sports,
kick a soccer ball around, let the kids just run around.
You have beautiful greenery,
mature hedging all along here for tons of privacy.
The entire backyard is also gated,
so it creates a very safe, secure, and private experience.
On the side of the house here
is a resort-style outdoor shower
so you can rinse off after your pool.
Notice that the flooring is mirroring
that beautiful flooring in the master bathroom upstairs.
Wrapping around to the main backyard,
all of these spaces were designed to be very defined
and yet connected at the same time,
each having their own lifestyle experience.
Behind me is this gorgeous clay fireplace.
You could turn this on and take this in
while you're enjoying conversation
and also watching the canyon view behind.
Continuing on, you are welcomed
to this beautiful saltwater pool.
This is a large, generously-sized pool
that's shallow at both ends,
perfect for that Tulum-style casual socializing.
You also have two oversized Baja shelves
so that you can just sit, enjoy a beverage,
or even great for kids who just wanna sit
and hang out somewhere extra shallow.
You also have a spa and hot tub,
plenty of room for lounge seating as well
because, of course, over here,
you have this magnificent view of the canyon.
At this end of the pool, you have an outdoor kitchen,
perfect for California entertaining.
You could be actually preparing food
because you do have an outdoor sink,
fully-functional kitchen area, a little refrigerator,
and behind me, a Napoleon barbecue as well.
It's incredibly rare to have this much
flat, usable space in the hills,
and not only are you using most of it up here,
but they also optimize the hillside itself
with this lower balcony.
Just a few steps down, and you feel like
you're literally floating over
this steep hillside beneath you.
This would be a perfect place to sit
and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day
and take in this absolutely breathtaking canyon view.
