TOMASZ FORNAL - BEST OUTSIDE SPIKER IN VNL 2024

It is Tomáš Fornal, that broad smile tells you everything. He is at the peak of his powers. He was the best outside in the Plus League of this season. Kovac, slight advantage for Slovenia. They go back and Fornal puts him in a phone booth. There was nowhere for that to go. He's right over the top of this one. I'm surprised he hasn't got a yellow card, Fornal, because he did exactly this. Will, just 23 years of age. That went into seven. Jurgen Fornal loads on Kai, who's backcourt. Yes, actually, Brazil, their fans. Yeah, for Turkey, for the women. Yeah, OK. Brazil, big favourites now. At 11-7. Fornal on the pipe. Crazy, isn't it? I don't know whether it's because we're focused on it, because of the, they say, the injury there, the impact. But he seems to be involved in absolutely everything at the moment. Well, it's a top score. Back. The official. Fornal says nothing. He didn't do any. Well, getting underneath that one from Rechina. This is sent backside. Kurek, again, the back row has done brilliantly, but it's going to be a free ball as Porro has to just hang it up. There's a Torski with an easy pass. Fornal with an easy put away off a very simple set. Give a free ball to Poland. Pass is solid. Fornal posts his hitter. Short string. It's up and over. Quick look by Janusz. Decides he wants this one-on-one. Couple pass. It's just going to be sent over. What are you going to do with it? How will you run it? Oh, come on. Fornal blocking with his hands. The lack of middle is surprising for me. I don't know. It's loud in here as Patry serves onto Popivcak. Great pass. Makes it so easy for Fornal. Oh, Fornal already. Already just stayed on that side of the net after he hits this. And but look at this hang time. He's up. Outside. Fornal at the feet of Chabot. It was 19-16. Spursley sends that backside and Fornal just says, I know what's coming here, Alessandra Bovalenta. And that's going back. The outside hand here from Fornal. Perfect. That's directs that back and scores. Great pass. They go back. Fornal. Fresh swing from both sides of the court. Both pins right now working for him. That was just the speed from Fornal. There's not a huge wind up for this. Looking for a bit more. You have to pick that up. Tondiko's done some traveling. Sanchez off net runs into Fornal. The Dodgers give it back like that. Straight into the hands of Fornal. Fornal keeps it in play. Fully in. System one-on-one. Fornal. Oh, nicely. Well, for some reason, he decides not to take a swing on it. But it's a super block. Really high level play. Drogba of the captain. Fornal. Oh, oh, oh. Hang time city. I mean, Slovenia practically picks itself. Yeah, well, they stuck with it. We've seen who it's likely to be, right? Because they haven't changed around a lot. 3-5. Fornal receives. He's the space. Drops it in the donut hole. He's a remarkably balanced athlete. It doesn't always look like it. He... Petkov. Slivko diving for it. Great joust. Fornal has been doing his crunches, that's for sure. And he's blocked Dimitrov as well. The old one-two serve. It was something that Liam picked up on yesterday. Semyon serves. Maurizio. Good touch by Huber. 4-12-18. Tales. Nice touch. Into Fernando. The head and the owl. Not quite the same. Here in set number three. Bovalenta unloads on that one. Again, a really nice pass. Fornal goes cross-court. And no stop in that one. You know, Polar might be struggling with... I knew you'd know. Mosca with serve. Lyon picks it up. Back row attack. Fornal drops it perfectly in the corner. Almost that point. Point on serve to take complete control. Are they going to get it here? Porro sent it backside. And there is that point right there. Fornal alongside Bieniak. And I think Fornal's claiming that one. And just accelerated, right? Beautiful. Back. Oh, up high. Oh, hit with a feather. Fornal is going to take a swing. Triple block. Goes at high hands. Ball's good. Fornal. Big blocker. Oh, yes. Cuffs it away from Lucas. Great vision. He suddenly went into beach mode then. I don't know how Dave does it. Great pass. Options available. Fornal. Block up and gives. Which has been a spot, actually, after the first touch. That's a good first touch as well. Fornal. Fornal got taken out. Oh, he's had Bernhard one-on-one. He's now got Tanchik Stern one-on-one. Togwada can provide some kind of spark at the set-up position. Again, the Serbs just not putting any pressure at all in the Poland passing game. France, who seem to have lost their direction. Here's a chance to get it back with Brissard over to Forn. Zatowski. What a touch. Fornal. Off the hands. Another great dig by Bednorz and Fornal can try again. What a swing from Fornal. That's what he knows he should have done with the first one. He wasn't aggressive enough in that situation. Didn't take enough risk. For the real... Loads it in to Fornal. Janusz. Oh, Fornal. It seemed. Every... And the computer says, you're good, buddy. You are good. It's on Uti. Zion's in the right place at the right time. Bolancz. Off the hands. Clever nose back there. Oh, yes. Luati did have no clue where the ball went. He's just looking around desperately at Vladimir Samonovic there. Well passed. Outside. Again, the catch mark snuck in there as we were looking the other way. Godzips Zion. How safe was that? I mean, I don't want to be repeating myself here. I have not seen a big power. Let's go for it. Serve from Kew. They're keeping the ball on Leon. Fornal. Bloch was down already. Nobody on Fornal. They're really trying to fire each other up here. They know that they've got a game. I mean, what are you going to do at this point? It's got to be really hard. Fornal puts it up. And then puts it around. That's nice. Yeah, it's a great serve. It's the level they need to be at, but when you can play the ball. Nice pick up again from Jant. Godzips Zion gets blocked out of it by Huber. It'll go backside instead. Sanchez gets blocked out. Fornal's going no way through here. Too tight on the net for Sanchez.
