C8 ZR1 Corvette vs Tesla Model S Plaid Drag Roll Race Comparison

I'm ready. Ready. Hello Hennessey fans! Welcome to another great video. My name is Alex, this is Harrison. We're on the team here and we are on the Pennzoil Proving Ground test track and behind me we have two extremely fast cars. We have the brand new 2026 Corvette ZR1 with the carbon aero pack and the ZTK track pack and in the EV category we have the Tesla Model S Plaid, the king of the crop when it comes to EV platform. It's very fast. It's very, how do you say, sterile. It doesn't have much emotion but it is very, very fast. The ZR1 is also very fast but has tons of emotion. It's snappy. It's angry. It wants to kill you. It has boost. It has turbo noise. I've got a golf cart. You have a golf cart? Yeah. And today we're going to show you a little bit of a comparison race between these two cars. So let's have some fun. Two American heavyweights. Hey guys, while I have cold tires I'm going to do a couple of jerky attempts. I'm not going to do that much just because these tires are ungodly to the tip. She is snappy. So just for context here, it's cold outside. It's 55 degrees. The pavement's cold. We don't have that much heat in the tires and we're just going to go in automatic mode and we'll see what happens. Once we got going but just remember that Tesla does not have very good brakes. Yeah, they're not the best, especially when you're doing 150 or so, but definitely had the advantage with the all-wheel drive and it being a little bit colder. But man, once this thing gets off the line, it starts hauling ass. I mean, I thought you were going to be in the dust and I looked back and you were right there. I just got you at the very beginning. Try it again. There's no way I'm going to catch that thing off of a dig, but let's see what happens from a roll. Oh, there she goes. That's pretty good. All right, the ZR1 takes the roll race. Can hear a lot of boost going through it when you're passing me. Sounds pretty cool. Yeah, she's got twin 76s, biggest production turbos on a production car ever. That's pretty nuts. Seems like we may need to do an exhaust on it. It's a little too muffled for how fast it is and it being American and all. All right, guys, we're going to roll into one more and then we'll do a cool down and be done. Pretty good with that. Here we go. You really start passing me. 120, you're pulling pretty hard past. Yeah, for sure. The EV runs out of a bit of steam and then the ZR1 really just starts getting going. We're good to know the Corvette still has it, except for if you catch a plaid at a stoplight.
