In this video, I review the Casio Edifice EFB-730D green dial variant, a chronograph that blends vintage aesthetics with modern proportions. From its 40mm case, sapphire crystal, and solid link bracelet to the subtle pastel green dial and sharp angular detailing this watch feels like a refined evolution of Edifice’s design language.
Edifice was the line-up known for crafting some of the most stylish sporty chronograph watches
When you talk about Edifice you're nothing short of exceptional quality
Malb 304 features a 316L grade stainless steel solid link bracelet and case with a brushed finish
How is Edifice Lineup doing with these items which have been rare since they weren't common back then
The first video on this channel Edifice 539BK is an absolute must-watch
It's been 15 years maybe even longer since I've had this watch
The design language is akin to a Lamborghini Diablo—far ahead of its time
Then when the design is excellent the quality is top-notch and the price range is just right it's already well known for delivering great value for money watches
Still collectors don't talk much about
Edifice Why Because
of its bulky design
And pay attention—I didn’t say consumers here who are influenced
I said collectors like you and me
Regardless of how it may be a watch is always
appreciated Appreciation is always for good things
The more sporty and aggressive the design of the Edifice the more inappropriate its dimensions become
They were feature-packed and sturdy but not elegant or comfortable
But everything changed one day with the launch of the EFV730D series
A watch that perfectly embodies everything a watch should be—worthy of being collected
Night after night this watch made it onto people's wish lists
In fact mine
too This watch had become a priority
Because the only element left for Edifice to focus on was elegance
And finally that was the look on the faces of those people in the watch
Well there are countless things to say about this watch
But before that welcome to Dial Discussions where we chat casually about watches
And if you're also interested in learning more this channel is for you
Just like last year I was focused on covering Indian microbrands
The collaborations I was able to make
Any brands I could have featured
That's what I understood—I did it
Likewise this year I’m planning to cover chronograph watches
—mostly classic in design but with a few refreshing twists
And I believe there couldn’t have been a better start to this year than with this watch
Its grey variant was such
a stylish piece A minimal
professional panda face a rear angular case design
It becomes straight toward the
lugs while featuring a round dial
This is a very well-executed
vintage aesthetic maintaining that contemporary feel without
making it feel forced
I've recommended that watch to many people because it's a blind buy
You can't go wrong with that watch
And these videos are also not on that same watch
But then I saw this one on New Year's Day
Because I'm always searching for something unique
yet elegant
And we just love vintage things
And my checklist for this watch was finally complete
Meaning how often do you see pastel green dials
Every tiny detail in this watch is incredibly precise
like when you talk about the minute and hour hands how
sharp and angular they are
Similarly those hour markers
angled in a way that makes it seem as though it's dissolving into the dial
Every dial features a sunburst effect
And there is also a thin chrome ring around the sub dials which
separates it from the dial surface
adding an extra layer of depth
They've added a sub-dial matching the
dark green chapter ring to maintain
contrast Overall this watch is full of
character and has great depth in its design
It's amazing how every element interacts with light Not
to mention the pop-up orange hue on the secondary dial
And if you're curious about what these sub dials represent the one on the left is
the chronograph minute counter and the one
at the bottom is the chronograph seconds
and at the 3 o'clock position it's a 24-hour subdial
Even the bracelet has considerable
depth Overall it has a brushed finish bu
There are horizontal separations in the glossy finish
And the center links are slightly raised
I was adjusting the links and realized that these
four-step micro adjustments
are perfect for my wrist
It's very unlikely but it's not a big deal if it
doesn't happen—yes it's
deeply satisfying when it does
Overall I absolutely love this
watch—love the aesthetic the design—
The brand has paid attention to one thing at a time
The only thing missing is tactile feedback in the push buttons
Now this is not a mecha quartz
it has a regular quartz chronograph movement
It doesn't give that satisfying clicky feel
when you press it Like this DWC triple crown
It features Seiko's VK63 mechanical
quartz movement which serves two purposes
One is a sweeping seconds
hand movement and the other is
a tactile push mechanism But if you see this Irony watch
It doesn't have a mecha quartz movement but the brand still
gave the pushers their own satisfying tactile
feel—trust me it's really pleasing
So Casio could have done exactly the same thing
Even if you're not offering a mecha-quartz movement
I believe tactile feedback is important when using a
chronograph so you know you've
successfully pressed something
And at this point let me clarify one thing
This isn't something you should
decide on while buying this watch
That doesn't mean you're missing a
major functionality by not having it
Another thing I noticed at the time of unboxing is that
the experience has already diminished compared to before
Previously Casio used to include a white leather pillow with
the edifice
It deteriorates over time obviously
But this time it's just a piece of cardboard
Like a watch from the Enticer series
If it were a micro brand
Like DWC or Argos
they deliver the proper experience
Which isn't necessary
Think of it this way: the collector is going to use a watch box
There's no point in offering a premium box
And at the same time for an average consumer
Anyone who's already spent 11-12k on this watch
And he’s getting this cardboard box
Something in between is needed
—neither excessive nor unusable
If I had to conclude this watch is
simply a refreshed take on a classic design
It already exists
Meaning I'd strongly recommend buying the Panda
and reverse Panda variants of this watch any day
Because it's a classic
But if your condition is my desire
Buying gadiyas has become a necessity
It feels like I can't breathe if I don't buy it
So then these variants come into play
Meaning these aren't your everyday
looking watches—they stand out I
mean they're elegant and unique too
But understand one thing:
You'll do well to wear it occasionally
But it mostly depends on you
Just like you carry them
