Check out the best shots of the day from Round 4 of the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, featuring Justin Rose, Ryo Hisatsune, Si Woo Kim, and Pierceson Coody, among others.
The Farmers Insurance Open returns to Torrey Pines with plenty of intrigue as the PGA TOUR stops on the iconic cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka headlines the week, making his return to TOUR competition via the Returning Member Program and opening his 2026 campaign at a venue that has hosted some of golf’s biggest moments. Chris Gotterup also arrives in strong form as the current co-leader of the FedExCup standings, adding further momentum to an already compelling field. A deep, top-heavy lineup awaits at Torrey Pines, led by defending champion Harris English and featuring a strong contingent of the world’s best, including Xander Schauffele, Justin Rose, J.J. Spaun, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley, Ludvig Åberg and Cameron Young. With players rotating between the North and South courses before the weekend shift to the demanding South Course, the Farmers Insurance Open once again presents a classic test of length, patience and ball striking, setting the stage for another memorable chapter at one of the TOUR’s most storied venues.
Is that today now? Yeah, you drive the golf ball down there. 330. You've reduced the first hole, which is pretty tough.
The South is just a flip wedge and three excellent.
Yeah, for his 18th birdie of the week, so the birdie production has been very high for the Japanese star.
It's really quick, should go pretty straight, maybe.
Oh, how about that? Just right of it.
Point by about a foot.
Who is he dialed in? He is early this morning.
It's not soon to get it. Another one beautiful. Tell you what, he looks very confident, very relaxed.
He's off to an incredibly good start with two birdies in the first three holes.
And he still has not made a bogey on the front side here on the South course all week.
An early fist pump from the leader, Justin Rose.
His second at 7. That's a huge drive there.
7 to dogleg right par 4 hole location in the back or excuse me in the front.
Take advantage of that. Wow, from 118 yards out, Keith Mitchell.
How about that? His 6 iron here for Rose trying to land there on the front portion.
195 at the front 215 total.
A little three here. BRB and he puts this thing at one nail in the convent.
With the best look of anybody, that'll be an eagle putt and he'll return here.
I don't think he's thinking about Rose right now, but this is a big one for that.
Just really solid Steve. I mean, just coming in here, clean card, three birdies.
He was actually kind of waiting for this spot.
He knew if he put the ball in the fairway, he was going to have a golden opportunity to try to make three or four here.
Absolutely. I mean, just playing a nice percentage based strategical approach here.
Fronts 157. He's got to land it right on it. Great line.
Oh, great result too. What a shot from Joel Damon.
Bringing this ball in very, very high, just right at the flag.
Another birdie putt upcoming for Justin Rose as he tries to stretch that lead even farther.
NC Mamet on course for us. Yes, a Satune with a birdie.
The 54 hole record and just as we're coming on the air for birdie at the 8th.
Three wedges 56 is the middle. Hard shot. Yeah, that's going to get rejected.
Little defensive there, not wanting to go long. No point doing anything silly with a six shot lead.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys. He has not made a bogey on the front nine on the South course
all week. Perfection on that front side all week when he's played this out.
Gotta keep the speed up pretty good.
Navigate the thicker off the bunker and then the shoulder on the edge of the green.
He drains it. We have Pearson Cootie from about 25 feet to get to 14 under absolutely.
Lose him to a tie for fourth.
Back here at 13 with Siwoo Kim, his third shot at the par five.
Pretty good from there, right around four feet left for his birdie to tie for second.
Trevor, you mentioned the struggles with the putter. I would have to think 800 milligrams
of caffeine a day can't help. Yeah, this guy can consume more energy drinks and coffee than
anyone I've ever met in my whole. He loves it and he loves that birdie at 13. 64. Just got to make
sure you cover that front just five paces on. It's pretty. Oh yes it is. Takes a big bounce,
settles in behind the hole about 7 feet for a birdie. Back here, Pearson Cootie played both
tours last year, Korn Ferry and the Big Tour. Excellent throw. Start to this season. Let's go
to 16. That's the sweet swing of Jake Knapp here at the par 3, 16th. Can watch that all day.
Colorful shot. Jake Knapp tap in birdie there at the tough 16th.
Here's Pearson Cootie for birdie. Birdied 16 and 17. Ah yes, this tournament began in 1952. It came
to Torrey Pines for the first time in 68. And at 15, Steven Yeager. These could make things
interesting. In the chase now, per second. At 17. So the great approach shot at 16 by Knapp.
He's up a little second here at 17. Ah, the screen is for this. Still up. Over at 9, the par 5 and
the third shot for Kapka. Difficult back left hole location. Got to have good spin control on this.
Looks nice. Johnson Wagner, there's your spin control. And Kapka. The thick leg front of 17 shows.
Good bounce back tonight. Get 18 and Joel Damon. That's going to be good. I tell you what, he had
me nervous when the hand came up. I was shaking a little bit for him. Lob wedge. Had to make sure
that he wasn't going to rip something down the front. Stopped continuing to improve.
Keeps hiring the right people, focusing on the right things, and his work ethic is just impeccable.
Again, Rio needed to get down in two. This could trickle. This could be good. So good.
Down at two to tie second. Could it give us one more? Now should go a little left.
He's on SUNY for a tie for second. That is some down in two.
And his best ever finish on tour. Well done. Justin Rose in a runaway at Torrey Pines.
Thank you. Well done. Thank you very much.
Speed goes on and on. Kapka will be there.
Well, Justin Rose is a big-time player who wins big-time golf courses.
