Hi, I'm Mike with House on the Mend, and in this video we're going to be reviewing the NiceBay
cordless handheld vacuum, complete with its own cradle and accessories. So let's get started.
So I'm neither paid nor sponsored by NiceBay. They simply reached out to me,
offered to send me this little vacuum for free for my independent review. So let's unbox it,
see what all comes in the package. We'll charge it and we'll run it through some tests.
So here's everything that comes in the box. We have the very sleek,
cool looking vacuum cleaner itself, and we'll go over those parts here in a moment.
You also get two attachments. This one is called the multi-surface head, and it is a flat head
that's kind of actually slightly beveled and has what feels like a lint brush kind of padding on
either side of it. And then this one is really cool. This is the brush and crevice tool. So
it clicks into the front and you've got this really tight about, what, thumb thickness little
crevice attachment, but you can also rotate up the brush attachment. I can see this one being
really handy for cleaning vehicles and getting the brush into the louvers of the HVAC system.
That one's pretty cool. We have a spare HEPA filter that goes right in here. More on that
in a moment. And then there's two pieces to the charging base. So this piece here is going to
click into place. We'll do that in a second. And then there's room back here for both of the brush
attachments to sit so they don't get lost. These two contacts here, once this is properly installed,
will touch right here on the vacuum cleaner and will charge it. So it doesn't look like there's
actually a jack for this little RCA jack here if you don't want to use this stand to charge it,
like a spot where you could plug in. So it looks like it does have to be charged on this stand,
which really doesn't click into place or anything. So if you're wanting to put it in like a van build
or something, it'll probably have to be strapped onto this while you're driving or put away.
So as we look at the unit itself, this is the handle back here. It's all very shiny plastic,
so it's going to get your fingerprints all over it right away. We have the power button here
that controls the speed of the vacuum. There's two speeds and also turns it off. We have the
display screen here. And then this button up here is for disconnecting the front to clean out
whatever you vacuum. So let's press the button one time. That's the low speed. This little
indicator right here that's just three fans comes on. One more click turns it to high speed,
and that's indicated right here by the multi-pronged little fan. We see the battery life
indicator. Third press turns it off. And right below what you're not seeing is another little
indicator that says clean HEPA. So the tool will sense when there's too much restriction
and tell you to clean the filter. And to do that, we press the button and remove
this front portion. If you want to really clean it out, you can take this off and rinse this
portion out after you remove the filter. So to do that, there's a little finger catch
right on the filter. The whole section comes out. That can be washed. And then
you pull the filter out. It doesn't twist or lock or anything. It's just a friction fit on
a rubber gasket. And both of these can be rinsed off with clear water. And then the directions say
you need to let it all fully dry before putting it back in. That's pretty easy to dry this one
if you wanted to. And then just use the backup filter and you can get right back into action if
you happen to still have more vacuuming to do, but you got something grimy in there.
There's a little notch on top of the filter so it can only go in one way back into the
unit. Also, there's only one way for it to go back onto the front. And then there's a catch
right up here that locks it into place. That's pretty easy. So let's assemble the charging
station. There's a couple of clips here that we need to insert as well as the jack for the
charger that needs to all line up. So I found if you put the little jack in first and push that down,
then you fully seat this back support. Let's get these little pieces in here,
the attachments out of the way. Looks pretty clean, huh? All right, plug it in.
And then we simply set the tool in place. I can see the battery life indicator going off
right here. And that will become a solid representation of the full battery when it is
fully charged. So let's set a timer and see how long it takes. All right, a little over 30 minutes
to get to the fully charged state. So let's do a little test here. This is the back of my wife's
hair dryer, and it's got all kinds of lint and little bits of hair and things in it. So
let's try the first setting and see how quickly this brush and vacuum can clean it up.
Not doing much. Let's try the higher setting. Well, it eventually got it, but not very impressive.
All right, we're out here in the garage, so no one in the house will have to listen to this
thing run. Let's see how long at the high speed the battery lasts. Well, I came out to check on
it after not quite 14 minutes, and it's already shut off. Let's see. Still showing. Oh, there's
the battery drop. Down to two bars. Down to one bar. Blinking. And shut off. So somewhere less
than 13-14 minutes. Ambient temperature in the garage is about 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Let's see
how our tool is. Oh yeah. Hot back here where the batteries are, I presume.
And it gets cooler as we go forward. So this handle is warm. I wouldn't say hot to the touch,
but definitely warmed up. All right, let's let it cool off, and then I will charge it all the way
to fully charged, and we'll see how long that takes. So both times that I charged it from a
fully depleted state, it took over four hours, which to me seems really excessive when you
consider the fact that you're getting about 14 minutes of run time. Nonetheless, I took it out
to our vehicles, which is why I have one of them as the backdrop, and put it through its paces.
I found that the multi-service head did a great job on the seats because it has these little
side slots that relieve some of the suction, but it didn't work well on mats or much of anything
else. The crevice tool was great for getting into tight spots like between the seats and the door
of the vehicle. Now the brush did pick up hair pretty well, but little else due to this standoff.
I think the bristle length of the brushes should be about half as long because it's too far away
from the actual suction of that crevice tool attachment, and did not pick up very well at all.
Now when it came time to clean out all the debris, it was a lot harder than I expected.
In fact, as you see here, once I pulled everything out, I had to get in by hand and run my fingers
up and down the ridges of the filter to try to get all of that debris and basically hand-pick it
all out. So I think there should be some sort of fabric that wraps around the actual filter element
itself, and that way the stuff couldn't get really stuck inside those little baffles and ripples
in the filter. Now admittedly, 14 minutes of runtime is not very impressive. However,
it's better than this one with the largest battery I have for it. In fact,
it's this dusty because I don't even use it anymore. The battery life is so poor.
This one here with a 12 amp hour battery, this massive thing, is only right around the same
amount. So in the grand scheme of things, vacuums seem to suck up a lot of battery life very quickly.
Now with that being said, all of the footage you saw in this video of vacuuming out the vehicle,
the AC vents, the tomato leaves, the kitchen where my daughter gets those little English muffin
balls all over the countertop every day, was all with one charge. I think where a vacuum this size
excels is that it's perfectly suited for small jobs. In the time it would take for me to go
out to the garage or the closet, grab this vacuum, undo the cord, plug it in, I would already have
this out of the cradle and be done with a small cleanup around the house or the garage or in the
vehicle. So if you found this video helpful, will you please give it a thumbs up? It really helps
the algorithms to start suggesting it to more viewers like you. Also, please consider subscribing.
I'm working really hard to put out good quality tool reviews. There's a lot more of those to come.
I'm going to leave a link for this vacuum in the description below. Full disclosure,
that will be an Amazon affiliate link. So if you click on it and end up making any purchase,
it won't cost you a thing, but I do get a small reward at the end of the month. I want to thank
NiceBay for sending me out this vacuum for my independent review without any preconceived
agreement on what I was going to say. I think that takes a lot of courage and not all companies do
that, by the way. I turn down lots of opportunities to review where they want to see the video ahead
of time and make editing suggestions. So I respect NiceBay for just sending it out and letting me
test it. Until next time, thank you for watching. Gotta not move my head. And there's an airplane.
I love it here. Love it.
