Two Meetings, One Family: Our Adoption Journey 🥹❤️

We got a call that has forever changed our lives. You would not believe like what we're actually doing right now. How are you? What are you doing? Oh my gosh. So we found a twin mom. We're gifting her everything from our nursery. And so we're in the house waiting for her to get here and we're going to surprise her. Oh my gosh! They have a mom, have a baby. Some consents are going to be signed. We send it to us right now. They're like, if we're a guest, we'll show it to her. That would be amazing if you could send it to us like right now. We would, yes, that would be great. Okay. Thank you so much. Where are you going to send it? I'll send it to, I'll just send it to you both if you're an email. Family and decided to submit our profile to the birth mom. This is really hard. We're just sitting in the car talking about all this stuff and we're just both crying. It's such a emotional thing. It's been hard. At any moment, we were waiting for the call on either good or bad news. Oh my gosh. This is exactly who she needs to be with. They're everything I dreamed of. Like she needs, like, I'm so glad to be her forever parents. Please tell them to come out here as soon as possible. Oh my gosh. So you are officially parents. She's waiting for you. So we could literally just go straight there right now. Oh my gosh. Okay. This is wild. Oh my gosh. After getting the best phone call of my life, it was time to book flights and to go pick up our daughter. One last little family video. This is the last family video as a family of three. We're all packed up. I don't even know how to feel right now. I'm a mom. Like it's official. We're parents. We're going to pick up our baby right now. We've landed. It's one in the morning. It's 1am and we're driving all through the night. We have a long drive ahead of us. And then we're going to get to the hotel in the morning just to turn around and go pick up our baby girl. The day I've dreamed of for so long. We are meeting our baby girl and I can't even wait. I feel so many mixed emotions right now. Oh this is just so wild. I can't wait to see her and to meet her. She's so perfect and so beautiful but I can't wait to see her in person. I can't wait to tell... I think it'll feel more real when we like tell our families. None of our families even know. I think... I think it's gonna hit me when I meet her. I'm so excited to meet her. I can't wait to meet her. We're five minutes away from meeting our baby girl and it's hitting me now. It's definitely hitting me. I'm feeling choked up and emotional. I just can't believe we've like gotten to this point. I can't wait to meet you in a couple seasons. And fill the missing pieces. Her little noises. One in a million still means one. They all bet against it. Oh my gosh, you're so little. I wasn't expecting you to be so little. I've prayed all night cause I know something will work out. Cause you're one thing I can't bear to live without. Tough enough but I don't know if there's a deep end. Won't give up even if nobody sees it. Better than we're breathing. I can't wait to meet you in a couple seasons. Order of certification of accessibility to adopt a children. Yay, baby. That means we can have a baby, Story. We got it. Story, should we have a baby? It is ordered. She just said no. You want to be your only child? Do you want a baby? Wait, let me read it. Based upon the matters presented to the court, the certification home study and all required documentation required in the investigation filed with the court on or before, it is ordered the above named application as acceptable to adopt children persuaded to the laws of the state of Arizona. For 18 months. No way, we're active. Wait, this is crazy. Whoa, signed by the judge. The even crazier part, Dallin, is if they're watching this video, we've adopted a baby. True. And Story's saying she doesn't want a kid. Well, she has a sibling. We have a sibling. We got it. It's the best day ever. We got it. Story, say baby. Baby. This means, Story, listen, like three years ago, we had to do this so that we could adopt you. You could be in our family. No. I literally told Dallin today, Dallin and I were talking, so I took my friend to an infertility appointment at my old doctor and it like brought back all these memories and I was like, Dallin's like, do you think that you want to do IVF again? I was like, Dallin, I'm telling you, there's a baby that is coming. I just know it that we need to adopt. And Dallin's like, really? And I'm like, yes, I'm telling you. I feel again like I did with Story. Getting the call that you've been chosen by an expecting mom to be the parents of their baby is such a beautiful moment. I like to think it's similar to when someone first finds out that they're pregnant. This phone call lasted about two hours and we planned out what the next few months of our lives were going to look like. We're going to do an ultrasound and we're going to find out the gender of this next baby. Wow, crazy. Place your bet, Bella, boy or girl for you? I think, well, originally I thought it was a girl and now I'm thinking boy. I think boy. I'll be happy either way. I genuinely, I'll be happy either way. I think it's a boy and I'm just hoping everything goes well. Yeah. This is going to be a really cool experience. It's something that's, I don't know, never done it before. Don't really know what to expect. I'm a little emotional right now. I'm really excited. We're both a little nervous. We're nervous. But it'll be good. So let's see how this goes. A girl. At first, like, it's so funny because right when we found out, I was like, it's going to be a girl. Like, I knew it was going to be a girl. And then like, you just start thinking about it so much. And I was like, you know what? Maybe it is a boy. I'll be honest. I was convinced it was a boy. Dallin was convincing me it was a boy. I was like, I don't know. And so then I was like, yeah, it's a boy. And now I'm like, it makes so much sense. It's obviously a girl. This is the most special thing ever. And I'm going to cherish this forever. We were able to get the baby's heartbeat recorded for Story. And listen. Also, what's so special too is the birth mom picked this out. Yeah. Which... She picked the lion out for Story. I like it. This is how we're going to tell Story about her little sister. We're going to let her squeeze the bear. And we're going to say, do you know what that is? Wait, do it again. Listen. Makes me want to cry. That's really cool. That's a strong heartbeat. I'm so excited. Come here. We have some really exciting news. Okay. Yeah. Mommy got you a present. I'm glad I saved all of Story's stuff. I literally have it all. We don't need anything. Can we do a family hug? Family hug. Can you give mommy and daddy a big hug? And the lion. Family hug. So I woke up this morning to some unexpected news that the baby might be coming today. Kind of freaking out a little bit. Yeah, so we've been frantically packing our bags. I just started washing the baby's clothes because I didn't think I'd have to do that for another couple weeks. But this has been very unexpected. I'm laughing but I'm very stressed right now. But also calm at the same time. I don't know how to explain the feeling of like, I just want to get there already and just be there. But listen, we're going in an airplane right now because we have to go get sister. Where did sister go? We have to go get her. Uh-oh. Yeah, I know. I wasn't expecting this either. Okay? I know. You're telling me. We have to go get sister. I'm sorry. We have to go get sister. We're pretty sure that her water is broken and that there's a great chance that we're going to miss the birth. And when we land, there will be a baby there. So my heart is actually pounding. I've been trying to take deep breaths. But like, I don't think I've ever felt like this in my entire life. I feel like I just ran a marathon. So yeah, we made it on the airplane and we're here. It's happening. I guess it's happening. As you can tell, we are back home. That was a whirlwind of a weekend. We had quite the scare thinking that the baby was going to be coming early. We were traveling to go what we thought, meet the baby. But it was really cool. Actually, we got to spend some time out there and get to see her on an ultrasound and also hear her little heartbeat. So that was really special to get to hear the baby's heartbeat. I think now I'm kicked into high gear and I'm like, oh my gosh, this baby could come anytime. So next time if we get a call that the baby is coming or is here, we can just grab these bags and we can run and just like, go straight to the airport because I don't want to miss anything and I want to be there as quickly as possible. This morning has been so hectic. I'm getting flashbacks from when we got the call for Story. I booked a flight in like three hours. We're headed out. We're going to go pick up our daughter. Oh, this is so crazy. This is just, this is insane. Yeah, mine too. The Uber is on its way. Bella, this is the last time we leave this house as a family of three. I'm like kind of sad because last night was the last time I put Story to bed as a family of three. Why is that sad? Oh, this is crazy. We have to just get there. We have to get there as soon as possible. It's gonna be the longest flight of my life. Let's do it. Let's go. Here we go, family hug. Can we do a family hug, Story? Oh, she's tired. Will you send them to me? The moment has finally come. We're seven minutes away from the hospital right now, and we're about to go meet our daughter. My heart is just pounding. How are you feeling, Dallin? I'm nervous. I'm trying to get us there. Feels like it's been the longest day of our lives. It has been the longest day. But the time has come. We get to see our sweet little angel. I cannot wait to just see her and kiss her and hold her. Feels like the anticipation has been building for so long, and I just cannot wait to finally see her and meet her and just be there with her. It's so crazy. We're about to be parents of two. Two little girls. The girls. It's so surreal. It still doesn't feel real. I'm so excited. I just can't wait to get there. We're walking into the hospital right now. It's finally happening. As much time as possible in the hospital and give baby girl all of the love. After a while, she flew back to us and we had the most beautiful reunion at the airport. We just pulled up to the airport right now. I'm so excited. And I cannot wait. We're 40 minutes early. That's how excited we are to see Story. But my parents just sent me this video and Dallin and I have been replaying it the whole way over here. It's so cute. She is perfection. Thank you. That's mama and who is she holding?
