The Most Important Reps You're Not Practicing - The Cold Bore Walkdown

Good morning, new week, new start.
I just posted homework for the week
and it's all about the front arm.
Make sure you watch that video
and I want you to apply that every single day.
Got a lot of good content coming this week.
Getting closer to hunting season,
immediately following this last tack
that I have to do in Indiana.
So I'm actually prepping some for tack,
I'm not fully converting over to hunting just yet,
but I wanted to use this opportunity
to kind of talk with you about in the morning,
I come out, I look every day,
I actually use my HuntWise app
and look to see what the wind cast is gonna do
and find the best times of the day
to get out and shoot without wind.
Then I come out and I just pretend
like the first five arrows out of my quiver
are brand new cold shots just like on a hunt.
If it isn't perfect, if it doesn't feel perfect,
I let it down.
So I just went through my five here
and there's my 20, there's 20, 30, same thing.
I let down twice just so you guys know.
Here's 30, cold boar, first shot out of the day.
Then 40, cold boar, first shot out of the day.
Then I went to 50, had a little bit of wind,
I was actually aiming left edge of the square
so I'm actually not being affected,
but okay, there's a nice kill shot
and then here we go, 70 yards on the elk
and I don't know, I mean, kill shot, yes,
but I was holding here.
So honestly, in this case, even though I got lucky
and I'm still gonna be happy with a tagged elk right there,
I can't be happy with myself
because that would have been a horrible shot,
cold boar right there in regards to accuracy.
So again, should have probably let that one down,
but cold boar training is a real thing.
This month is shoot to eat with sword ex too,
so I'm gonna be starting to incorporate that
where the first shot's gonna be at that shoot to eat.
I don't personally eat breakfast,
so I'm gonna take it one step further.
Mine is gonna be on whether or not
I have to fast until the next day.
So if this would have been the shoot to eat today,
I would have had some problems,
but practicing cold boar shots is absolutely critical,
focusing on the good ones.
That's what you gotta be doing
and apply each week's homework,
and you're gonna be getting better and better.
We're almost to season,
and right now we gotta practice the fundamentals
and ingrain those babies so that once we go into autopilot
on a hunt with what matters,
we're gonna be able to put this where we need it.
