week in my life in nyc + tampa: redoing my childhood bedroom, outfit planning, gasparilla

Morning. I put a pimple patch. This is not a cute one. Did it work? Like, I don't know. No. There's still a whitehead. Invisalign out. Let's go make some coffee. Hi. I made breakfast. I made some eggs over medium. Kind of over easy-ish. I don't know. I like a runny egg and some toast. We have so many groceries because I bought so many groceries before the snowstorm. And, like, it was so funny. The day of the snowstorm, there were literally restaurants open. Not that we would have gone. Like, we had all of our meals here anyways. But, like, I really didn't know, you know, being from Florida. Getting some work done. Towel time. My favorite thing after a shower is getting in, like, a towel material robe and sitting. And I call it towel time. So, some days I can't have as long of towel time as others. But, I don't know. There's just this feeling. It feels like I'm on a beach vacation and I just showered and I don't even know. I don't even know where I'm going with this. But, Cassidy's coming over because we are doing a fitting today for Fashion Week. Fashion Week is coming up. I'm going to be so for real, you guys, like, with Fashion Week. I literally never really know what I'm getting invited to until, like, a couple days before. Like, I straight up do not know a thing. So, but then things hit and then things I'm excited about and I want cute outfits for. And sometimes the brands dress you. Sometimes they don't. So, I just like to be prepared with, like, a couple good outfits. So, Cass is a stylist at Moda Apparandi. We pulled a ton of looks and I'm really excited to try them all on. Like, the outfits she styled are sick and so me. So, I hope they look good in person and I don't have a spray tan right now, obviously. Very pale. So, I'm going to have to really work through that. But, yeah, I'll show you guys, like, sneak peeks of some of the things we're trying on as I like them. But, I love when she comes over. It's amazing because I initially thought I was going to really like how this sweater looks with this skirt. And I didn't even want to try on this like yellow button down. But I'm so glad we did because I actually like that better. So. You never know. Guys, this is probably my favorite outfit I've put on so far. Just because I feel like really good in it. Is this Frankie's shop? Yeah. Yes. So cool. With the hair tucked in. And you can wear both pieces as separate which is so nice. And the skirt doesn't need to be altered. Which is a win. It's not too long. Cass, I really like this. No, I'm obsessed. Obsessed. And it's good for this time of year. Like I could layer underneath one for the look. Like I could survive February in New York with a ton of layers underneath. No one would ever know. I could wear fleece lined tights. Yeah. No one would know. It's really cool. No, this needs to. I like it all the way stuffed. I mean this is cool too. Cool. Cass just left and I'm obsessed with the looks we came to. I mean I knew I would be. But we hadn't really done a fitting in a while. I don't think I like had her style me last fashion week. Because a lot of the brands dressed me which was really fun. But usually February fashion week is a little bit chiller. And I just wanted a few like strong looks for events and stuff. And I think we did just that. So now I am getting ready. I didn't. I forget if I said this already. But I didn't do my makeup before because I don't like trying on clothes with makeup on. Especially if I might return things. Like I don't. You know. Because like we basically pull a ton of things. And then return. Usually like a half of it. Or like 25% of it. Just kind of depends on how many looks I like. But I don't want to like ruin it with all my makeup on it. Even though there were moments I was like oh I have to imagine this. Like with a spray tan. With my makeup on. You know. Stuff like that. It's a fine line. But anyways. Really really happy with that. I just ordered a cava bowl. Because I just realized we don't have any leftovers yet. Or left for lunch. Because I made a ton of food the last few days. And I think I told Ryan to take the last little bit for lunch to work today. Because he like packs his lunch every day. It's so wholesome. But I wanted to chat. Because I feel like I've just been a homebody lately. And that's just like January for you. I mean I love being home. I love being in the apartment. And this is that time of year where I'm just wanting to be home and organize. And optimize the apartment. So that the rest of the year it's just everything's organized and in it's place. And like I have good systems down. So it's easy as life gets busy. Which it definitely will be. And I saw a comment. I was just curious. If a lot of you guys feel this way. Like my last vlog I think was a lot of. Or two vlogs ago now? I don't know. My last few vlogs I feel like I've been home a lot. I personally love people's home content. Honestly. So that's why I've been kind of tuning into that. And I really haven't been leaving the house. On the weekends I've been leaving. And I feel like I vlog when we leave. But I know a lot of you guys watch me to see like life in New York City. But life in New York City in January is a lot of like being at home. So I'm just kind of curious like if you guys all feel that way. If you wish I was out and about more in my vlogs. Because like I guess I'm not vlogging every time I leave the house. Just kind of depends. And like if it's an errand I feel like it's boring. But maybe you guys like it. I don't know. Like if I'm taking dry cleaning I don't like vlog it always. Because who cares. But maybe you guys care. I don't know. But things are picking up very quickly. Very soon. Lots of travel. And that's why I've been really trying to enjoy January to be honest. Because I knew. I knew that things were coming up. So yeah. But anyways. I'm going to finish getting ready. We're recording the podcast today. I have a fun girls dinner tonight with Cass and Kelly. What I'm really excited about. I haven't seen Kelly in a minute. I don't even know if I've seen Kelly in the new year. I don't even know. And we have a call. Brooke and I have a call here in a sec. But now I'm starting to have that desire to want to go out and about and do things. And Valentine's Day is coming up. And all these things. I think I talked about this maybe but I'm like so pumped. I hit Deltan... Deltan? Delta Diamond status this year. Like for this year. Which is like so exciting. And I've heard about all these perks but like and you get basically you get upgraded often. And you're also given a few like upgrade certificates throughout the year. So you can upgrade to first class or Delta 1 which are like the lay flat beds like a few times a year. And I think I said in my last vlog that or two vlogs ago. I don't know. That I'm going to St. Tropez for my friend's 30th birthday later this year. And I got super creative. And I like called the Delta like diamond medallion phone number which I've never done before. Recording another episode of Gals on the Go today. I just finished doing my makeup. And I am traveling this weekend. And I feel like my makeup brushes could use a good clean. They definitely could. Especially like my foundation brush. And like my cream blush brush. So we're gonna do that now. I filmed an Instagram Reel about this. But basically I put a little bit of this. Oh my god. Bioderma at the very bottom. Along with a little warm water. Add a little more Bioderma. And then I just put my makeup brushes in there. And let them sit for a little. These are some of these are dual ended. So I'll have to switch. Just to get that initial residue and like makeup off. And then I go in with a bar of Dove soap. And then I rub it on each one. And rinse it out and let them dry. So we're gonna do that. So I use this bar of soap from Dove. It's the sensitive. It's like a beauty bar they call it. And they sell things like this on TikTok Shop too. That you don't have to do that first step. And you just rub your brushes. And it's like a reusable thing. But I've been enjoying this route. So I just get a little water. Like look at that. Oh my goodness. There's so much foundation on there. This is a BK Beauty brush. I like their brushes. So I'm just gonna do this. I'm just doing my face brushes. I do my eye brushes like every other time I would say. Sue me. But see yeah. The more you rub. See. Now no makeup is coming on it. Oh a little bit more. A little bit more. I could just die in your arms. There's something about. It's not even February yet. It'll be February in a couple days. That just makes me listen to so much more Justin Bieber. Specifically you guys know this. The Changes album is so good. And like I'm trying to get in the mood for our Galentines episode. Valentines. When I texted Brooke I was like is it okay if I wear a full sweat set? And she said yes. So she's wearing like a pink sweater and jeans. So I'm gonna be a little bit more underdressed. But like it's a matching set. I've got a little matching headband that has some red in it. And I feel like it'll be really cute. So I'm gonna head to the studio. We're gonna record some. For me means I'm doing Goodle's mac and cheese which is a protein mac and cheese. And then I made green beans with garlic, salt, and pepper. And it's just gonna be perfect. Also if you can't tell I immediately came home showered, exfoliated. And I'm in my robe because I'm getting a spray tan tonight. Woo! Because I am going to Tampa. Ryan and I are going to Tampa this weekend to see my family obviously. And then there's something called Gasparilla which is a super. The best way I can figure out how to explain it is it's kind of like Tampa's Mardi Gras. Like there's beads. There's a parade. There's parties. And you kind of. You don't. Like some people really do dress like pirates. I don't really dress like a pirate. But you kind of wear like that vibe. So like it's kind of like Georgia Game Day. Like red, black, and white. Or like lace. Or some people wear like you know cool tights. Because it's gonna be really cold. There's like a chance of snow in Florida on Saturday night. Like actually that's not cool. I'm freaking out. Like it has never snowed in Tampa as long as I've lived there. And that's really strange to me. But nonetheless we're going. And I'm really excited. And Ryan's never experienced it before. And like my whole high school friend group. Like the four. Us four girls are going back to Tampa for it. And it'll be a fun day. So I want to be tan and cute. Because we end up running into like everyone from high school naturally. And just like everyone I know in Tampa. And I also still need to figure out exactly my outfit. I have a couple options. So I need to pack. Goodles are so good. I love that. Okay. Trying on potential outfit option for Gasparilla. I'm like sending it to my friends. This might be my favorite. You guys know I can't stop wearing snakeskin right now. And I love how this one fits. Lol my tights coming up on the top. It's going to be quite cold in Florida as I said. So I'm wearing some brown tights from Caledonia. This skirt is from the brand Meow. It's a skort actually which is huge. And then flat boots. Even though I'd love to wear boots with a heel. It's just like that won't be comfortable. And then I like how this bomber looks zipped up. And I feel like it's very Gasparilla. And if I wear like beads or something. Like as you get beads at the parade. That'll be cute. Lol though. Like spray tan will literally be up here. Or I could. I don't have anything under this right now. Let me try out the tank underneath. So I can see what that looks like. Hold on. This is what it looks like with the tank top underneath. Could be a good option. If I want to wear beads and just like show a little tan. That could be cute. I need to look at the temperature again. Okay. Saturday we've got a high of 56 with wind. Of course there's all sun. And then just not on Saturday. I think like a cold front's coming in like late Friday night. Yeah that's gonna be chilly. Especially by the water. And then I also just threw on this jacket. Which is super warm. And like I will not be cold. I think. Which is very cool. It's very like New York. I don't know. I mean I definitely love it. And I also realize like even if I get this spray tan. And you can't tell I'm Gasparilla. Like I'll be in Florida. So I'll be happy I'm tan. Regardless. I've decided. Like this is really cool. But how does it look unzipped? Hold on. So we're going to have to leave really early. And I've literally never done this. But I was like do you want me to like help you pack? Cause he's just coming to Tampa for the weekend. I forgot I owned this jacket. I mean that's really cool. How would this look with the snakeskin skort? Shoot. And this one is a little bit warmer. And my dad's texting like be warned. And I forgot I have this outfit from the New York Fashion Week fitting. I did it with Cass yesterday. Wait, I'm going to quickly send this so it doesn't go away. I said, wait, I forgot I have this outfit. Could be cool with the hat. Guys, like I would never wear this to Gasparilla. We took this photo during the fitting yesterday. And I told Cass, I was like I don't know about the beret. It was like inspiration from this Kendall Jenner photo that I had sent her. But I think like I would need a different hat. I'm not sure. I mean it's really so sick and like so high fashion. But I'm dying to see if my friends think I'm serious or not. Because like I just said. I hope they. I said, wait, I forgot I have this outfit. Could be cool with the hat. Okay, now let's plan Ryan's outfit actually. Men's fashion series is so stressful to me. I like don't know why I decided to do this. But I know he is going to need help later. So he has this black bomber jacket. Which I feel like is a safe outfit if he wears this with a white tee underneath. And also pack his black hoodie. Because a black hoodie under this could be good and warm. And then like jeans. I don't know. I mean I can't like fully pack for him. But then he has this. This was an a recent investment piece he did. A Buck Mason shirt. It looks so good on. He wore it on New Years. And I just loved it. Because it kind of like cinches up the waist. Like I love it. And it's black. And he also could wear this. Which I mean he would need a jacket for this though. I think either way I'll have him bring this. Because it's cold in Florida. Oh someone replied. Morgan said. Um. They have to know I'm kidding. I'm so annoyed. Like I can't. My friends can't rest with me. Suitcase is packed. I did as much packing for Ryan as I felt like I could. I brought his suitcase up from the storage unit. I feel like he might want to wear boots. I don't know. His Gasparilla outfit options. And then also like comfy clothes. Because he's literally only in Tampa for like a weekend. I'm staying longer. So yeah. I don't know. I'm about to go to bed. Poor guy. I also just got a spray tan. Feeling good. I'm so excited to go home. However. And I'm so grateful that I feel this way now. I never used to feel like this. But like I am so sad to leave our apartment. Like I just. I love it. I love being home. I love the space we've created. I love playing house with Ryan. It's so fun. And I'm so glad he's coming with me this weekend. But I'm just. I'm so. How lucky am I to have created a space here that I love so much that I don't want to leave. But like I do. I do want to go be with my family and everything. And I am really excited because I. Right before I left during Christmas break when I was home. I totally emptied out my whole bedroom there with the help of my family. Obviously. And some of Freddie's friends. And I got a queen size bed now. Which is just going to be so nice because Ryan and I sleep there. And full size bed just doesn't cut it for me and Ryan anymore. So I got a queen size bed. We painted the walls. New lighting fixtures on the way. I got a rug that we're going to put under the bed tomorrow. And nightstands. So very simple. Just more like. Kind of guest room vibes. But like I'll slowly add some personality to it. But I just kind of wanted a more clean space. Because when I go home my room is so chaotic. Because it's like. I've had that room my whole life. And I've definitely like painted the walls throughout the years. And it's had different themes. But I just kind of wanted something simple. A nice start. So I'll show you guys when we get there tomorrow. I'm really excited to see it in person. And see the bed with the nightstands. It's going to be a vibe. I like just like coordinated all the deliveries with my dad while he was there. I was like. By the way they're coming up now. So anyways. It's going to be fun. And I think it'll be fun to like. Go to Home Goods. And get a couple things for the room. And maybe some lamps. I haven't decided yet. I kind of want to like start with the bones. And see where I go with that. If I have room for any other furniture. And like. It's going to. It's a bigger bed. So I don't know. Anyways. Very excited. We have a 7am flight tomorrow. So. Early, early wake up. Chance of snow tomorrow. Hey. You guys remember what my room looked like before. Here we are. We've got bare bones. This is going. We're waiting for the electrician to come. Take this out. And I got a new lighting fixture that's going to go in. It doesn't have a fan. But this bed. And mattress. This is the same Casper mattress I have in New York. Ryan and I love it. And then this is a Casper bed frame as well. It's absolutely beautiful. It's giving like beachy vibes. I'm so excited to sleep in it tonight. And then I have two nightstands downstairs that we're going to bring up. But we're waiting because I got a rug. And we're going to put that under the bed today. When I have the boys help and see what that looks like. I have an air filter in here right now going because there was paint. And we had to clean and all things. But I also eventually want to do something with that. Like obviously I need that to pull it down. And I think they literally made it exactly for this. But it's, I mean, it's so gross and dirty. I've literally had this since I was a child. Like this exact pull shade. So I need to figure that out. But one step at a time. I'm just happy that it's nice and clean and simple. And while I'm here I'm going to go to HomeGoods and do it up. Like not too crazy. I'm not going to like even hang anything up this week. The only thing I thought about is if I want to get a little mini like corner desk situation for right there. Because mainly honestly for when Ryan comes we can work there. Or if I have calls like I like to have a place to sit. Or like I don't know. But also I want to be able to put my suitcase places. You know. So this is kind of bare bones. And throughout the day today I'll be adding more. And we've got to make the bed, add the pillows. But I want to put the rug down and the nightstands. And that will feel really good. So a lot later we made the bed. And I plugged in the nightstands. So there's outlets right there which is nice. And then it's just kind of hidden. So I've got the phone charging. Ryan's is plugged in as well. Hey mom. Say hi to the vlog. Hey, hey, hey. My mom helped me. Because duvet covers are no joke. But I think we're going to sleep really, really good tonight. I'm also excited. These are really soft sheets. They're from Cozier. And I'm just really excited to sleep in here. I've been up since 4 a.m. So I think we're going to sleep nicely. I kind of like the style that Ryan and I have in New York. Of like the three shams with the one lumbar pillow. So I'm considering that. Because I think that would look really nice. And really pull it all together. And then I need something for above the bed. And some little lamps. But she's coming together. We've got to add some personality. Basically we are starting off with breakfast at the yacht club. And you watch the pirates like sail off on the ship and all that. And then you go to like watch the parade. We have tickets to a specific tent. And then we're ending the night at like a party situation at the club. So. But it all starts like my friends are already about to be there. I said Ryan will get there at like 9.30. That is the plan. So. Very excited but need to get ready. I haven't washed my hair in a minute. Since earlier this week. Well I mean I already showed you guys when I was trying on the outfits. And then I'm going to do this bag that is literally full of so much stuff. But like we're going to be gone all day.
