Well, it's been a wonderful season so far for Sunderland on their return to the top flight,
but today in north London may well be their biggest test to date.
The Blackcats are here at Arsenal, six points clear at the top,
and on course for their first Premier League title since 2004.
Can Sunderland put a spanner in the works on a ground where they've yet to win
since Arsenal moved to the Emirates in 2006?
And still no Granit Xhaka.
He would have loved to return to his old club whom he appeared for on 297 occasions.
Regis Lebris has named an unchanged XI from the one that started and beat Burnley 3-0 on Monday night.
There are places on the bench for a couple of the new signings.
Nilsson and Gulo brought in from Anderlecht for £17.5 million in the transfer window,
and goalkeeper Melker Elborg signed from Malmo as cover for the excellent Robin Roos.
Well, you have to go back to 1983 for Sunderland's last league win at the home of Arsenal.
This is a very difficult place to pick up three points, particularly this season.
Let's see how Sunderland go about that task today.
Alderete trying to see this behind, which he hasn't succeeded in doing.
Picked up by Trossard.
Trossard's ball into the middle and headed wide early on by Kai Havertz.
25 seconds in.
Zubimendi.
Now Rice.
Trossard.
Looking for Jesus.
Trahume has it.
Looked like he was clipped there, that is the case.
Free kick for Sunderland.
Trahume.
Trying to pick out Ballard, the keeper's come for it, he's missed it, Brobby!
Oh, that was a chance.
Brobby had the effort on goal, which was blocked inside the six-yard box.
An opportunity for Sunderland to go in front after David Rea made a mess of it.
It fell for Brian Brobby, he couldn't apply the required finish.
Big chance.
This was the free kick, lifted in by Trahume.
Ballard did well to put Rea under pressure.
The keeper could not hold it.
And Brobby couldn't apply what would have been the finish for the opening goal.
In fact, it was heading off target even by the looks of it.
Here's Rice again.
Saliba.
Trossard.
Trossard with the switch.
Out wide, Jesus.
Jesus gets his shot away, safely gathered by Robin Roos.
Held on to it nicely, just bounced in front of him,
but no problems for the Sunderland keeper.
Reti caught by Madhuki, caught in two minds more than anything else.
Here's Zoubamendi.
Spanish international brings in Calafiore.
Trossard.
Trossard, tees it up for Zoubamendi!
Who scores for Arsenal!
From distance.
Martin Zoubamendi breaks the deadlock.
Brobby.
It's off Saliba in behind for the corner.
Enzo Le Fay plays it short, needs to go into the penalty area here at the end of stoppage time.
Trahume sends it in, and it's just curling beyond Mukiele,
couldn't make contact with it.
And that is the last act of this first half in terms of a Sunderland opportunity, certainly.
Mukiele was in a real tussle there with Zoubamendi, couldn't reach it.
Ballard was also battling inside the penalty area there with Declan Rice,
all sorts going on.
Half-time, Arsenal 1-0 Sunderland.
Arsenal have regrouped, got plenty behind the ball.
Here's Mukiele.
Off the head of Gabriel.
Diarra.
Hulme.
He slipped that one in to Enzo Le Fay.
Brobby lays it off, Sadiki trying to get a shot away.
Instead, it's Tolby with the effort, pushed away by David Rea.
And away by Gabriel, who was unsure.
That was a decent effort from Tolby that was on target and Rea was forced into the save.
Here's Trahume, putting a dangerous ball in just beyond Brobby,
who couldn't throw himself at it.
Well, better from Sunderland, much better.
This effort here, after good build-up play,
Sadiki laid it off for Tolby and Rea sent sprawling to his left.
Not a long, decent ball, and Tolby's gonna get there, is he?
Rea sliced it in the air and it didn't fall for Brobby.
Here's Trahume, Hulme!
The outstretched leg of Gabriel denies him.
Sunderland on the front foot and pushing Arsenal here.
David Rea made an error there.
It was the long ball from Roofs that almost did it for Sunderland.
And where's our new boy?
Angulo, Nilsson Angulo, the Ecuadorian international.
We'll be hoping to get on the pitch and show what he's all about.
Nothing being brought in from Anderlecht.
The transfer window.
Alderete.
Lefebvre with the flick on.
Now Trahume, oh, he tried to slot that in to Enzo Lefebvre,
who'd made that dart into the penalty area and just didn't find him.
...committed on Trossard, gives Arsenal a retrieve.
We're just over an hour of the game gone and Romain Mundell is coming on.
It's the first change from Regis Lebris this afternoon.
Find Trossard with his clearance.
Havertz, Llores, Llores off the bench to fire home Arsenal's second of the game.
Gertrude is going to come on here.
Gertrude to replace Siddiqui.
We've got 20 minutes to play and the Dutchman is on.
Isidor gets five minutes plus stoppage time.
And the same applies to Angulo.
Brought in from Anderlecht for 17.5 million.
He's on for his debut.
He's an exciting player, the 22-year-old.
Angulo with the back flick, which came off.
Results in a free kick in the end for Essie.
Doing a bit too much there to try and win the ball back from Diarra.
Angulo over the set piece.
Angulo goes deep and the header back across.
Well, almost the roof of the net.
Munchielli on the end of it, but couldn't direct it on target.
Got there to head down.
Diarra sends it into the box.
Ballard trying to bring it down under control.
And now Arsenal on the counter.
And Martinelli all the way through.
He's got Llores in support.
And Llores seals the three points for the Gunners.
It's been a noisy Emirates.
The fans have played their part.
And the home side have delivered the goods,
and they're after another.
Robin Roos is behind it.
Well, the wait for a win at the Emirates for Sunderland goes on.
Arsenal, as we said at the outset,
would be a difficult proposition here on home soil today.
And that proved to be the case.
Full-time at the Emirates today, Arsenal 3-0 Sunderland.
