So telson jenkins messaged me today about uh He's going through a little target panic And he wanted to know if joel turner was legit and I was like, oh, yeah, I need to beat him right yesterday And so he's like well should I take this class and I was like, let me call him I think i'm gonna try to get telson up here and joel here at the same time and just get him a uh, Because telson is a phenomenal archer. Oh gosh, like He's world like he competes. Uh-huh. You know, how did you meet him? Oh, we elk hunted with him in Geneva, idaho Okay, so how many years of elk hunting do you have under your belt? Okay, and then talk to me about the first time you heard a bull bull That's why I love it so much does that change everything That's probably why I slid in your DMs No shame no shame, okay, so then telson set it up and then did he give you a lesson Kind of he did on my old boy. Okay. Yes. Have you worked with anybody like on your no Have you killed an elk with a bow Okay Recently too. I killed one in new mexico this year. You did. Okay, so you You're killing it. I mean, so you've only elk hunted for five years. You killed two elk with a bow Probably killed a few with a rifle too. Okay, three three. So you're like five for five, which is pretty average Most people know it took me. Yeah, I think it took me. Um I hate to say this, but I think it took me seven years to kill an elk in idaho with a bow Uh, it was a long drought, but i'm thankful for it. Yeah I think you appreciate it more Have you so you've elk hunted, idaho, new mexico montana Well, he I hadn't had a tag. I was just tagging along with him. She has a girl Yeah points this year Actually, I drew two years ago, but turned the tag back in because we had too much That's the year that I was bow hunting in idaho, okay, we're in idaho-ish don't say like specific. Geneva. Geneva Hell's canyon. I have hunted hell's canyon, but that was with a rifle Oh, did you get one down in the bottom? Yeah, did you really in the bottom? Yeah and had to hike it up That's probably the hardest pack out you'll ever do So they put the horns down on me and i'm too short for that. So I just go straight up the hill There was no side hill. Yeah. Yeah Okay, dude, you're an elk hunter you are here for okay He says i'm not so okay Your name's kade. Yes. Come on in here. Okay. I want to know why what does she need? What should she do to qualify as an elk huntress? I never said she wasn't an elk hunter. He gives me a lot of crap. Oh, yeah Yeah, she's tree stander. That's what I get tree stand. Okay. I'm from alabama Well, I think you should like maybe i'll figure out a way for you and towson to meet up with joel He's such a good coach and it's just a nice hug. You know, joel turner is Okay, his boy's like world champ target archer and he's a good little hunter but target panic is kind of like a thing that comes and goes and waves and You can work through it and it's really hard to not have target panic when the bull steps out and you're just like You know, do you do an index? Yeah, that's pretty common over here i'll show you some sheds these are all north idaho sheds so The coeur d'alene resort we have the coeur d'alene mountains a lot of these came out of there um Pre-marriage and children. I used to go to go shed hunt quite a bit I don't do that as much Yeah, well, yeah, we'll do like some product stuff here and top down or whatever but when we built this in mind We didn't really know what we were going to do in this room. We just wanted an extra like bay to do stuff And obviously cool backdrop. I like it. I like sheds. I just I love shed hunting. Have you done that? I've done that She's about two. Oh, yeah, you see like idaho makes you buy a hunting license now to shed hot. I like that. Oh, seriously Oh, yeah And I think more states will follow suit well, I think it makes sense because you're getting people that probably don't Especially call these shed closures. Yeah. Yeah Let's say you don't hunt. You don't have a license. How do you get in trouble? Like, okay. What do they take away? I'm gonna take your hunting license. Yeah So your state specifically has a bunch of places that uh has shed closures So you can't like leave the oak alone in the winter and then they like push it out to like let's say April 15th or may 1st and then there will be Trucks and cars parked miles miles and miles and it's like literally everyone at the start line three two one go And then they take off running to the hills To pick up sheds Have you ever been to one of those? Yeah, they suck Oh, really? I've been because i've done a horseback And I mean where you see horse incidents where they'll jump something. I've been next to a horse that broke both his legs Okay, you can land it snapped both legs and then watch another horse almost drowned someone's trying to ride across the Pond and it's just yeah, it's a nightmare every I mean right at the beginning. There'll be six people trying to contain their horses bucking When they get in the middle, especially like some river some river every horse has to go through one gate So you have 300 horses trying to go through one 15 foot gator, yeah I've seen videos And then you got those dudes with like the sneak in and stash sheds. That's why Uh, yeah, all right. I'll show you guys the gym. Maybe you'll want to work out. Maybe you don't it doesn't matter to me We might do the only shoes I got I'll work out in. I can't do that much Yeah, what happened We got like deer and a few elk running through here, but um, I just like the view it's pretty it is You can't pick your day This is where We do some fitness content And you work with somebody in the fitness space, don't you first form? Yeah Yeah, most of these are a lot of these are washington state whitetail um Alaska caribou idaho moose, idaho Mount lion And then these are a little bit of the bigger bulls i'll keep out here, but you notice I don't like shoulder mount That's an elk tag So shoulder mount or euro kind of yeah cut the skull by another elk tag Um, so I don't have a ton of taxidermy. I don't think I ever would it takes up a lot of room But yeah, we've been elk hunting for a few years and I think that every time I see I've been in there. How do you move? And it's like this It's like it's not that big of a room And then if you go behind his little studio He's got a shed you open that shed up. It's just like a bunch of giants just laying on this in a pile but I thought it'd be warmer in here. I turned the heat on a while ago Doesn't really motivate me to work out So like in here my last gym had really good insulation that we thought we did a good job. Apparently we didn't Because like it's hard to break a sweat This time of year and then you touch this barbell It's good it makes it tougher so yeah, but this is kind of where we train I've always been like a home gym guy Because then you have no excuses And it's hella convenient You know what I mean? A doobie. Yeah. So what kind of workouts do you do? Weights but nothing crazy Weights nothing crazy. Like are you like if you watch lunges hip thrust Leg day everyday leg day most days, okay most days Does your friend work out? So we have a I think I need to have you I think we should pot and have you on it because I will embarrass you I want to know like okay long distance relationship. How's that going? It's been that long distance really no, I mean i've been going there for quite a while. Okay, I think basically we're doing She'll spend montana sometimes Now, how long have you been dating? We've been talking since march last march Dating are you guys both kids and in your 20s? Are you guys in your i'm 27? Yeah, you're kids. Okay, cool Well, I didn't get married till I was like 28 And we didn't pop out a kid till I was like 33 And I think that's the way to go for sure because like that's when I had so much fun with my wife and I think I remember having fun with her but like as soon as you have kids just like Hey, okay. Yeah, i'll take this soccer practice. Oh, yeah piano lesson and it's just tough. You know what I mean? Do you have any kids? Yeah, two. I got married at 22 first kid 28. Oh, sheesh. Yeah, so then you had a six-year run. Oh, yeah They're the best gotta get an alaska moose Here's the problem with alaska moose is like the best season is right now. I know so I can't do it. No But I want to you know, yeah that idaho that was like, uh, that's an october deal. So then we can like, okay You know what? I ain't drawing one of those anytime soon Yeah, it's getting they're cutting the tags back I mean I drew it as a non-resident Yeah, it's a once in a lifetime job, yeah, there's so many moose out there though like last year i'll come up there Yeah, that's good. No, it's the 400 pounders that this year our biggest guy killed the 360 pole 400 pounds Just luck of the draw, I mean from the side by side or no We have uh, least ground Up in the public. Yeah, we're all publicly. Oh, so we had like a 1700 acre place that They'll come down in hayfields. Yep, and they were back up before dark They know the deal then one morning it was cold and they stayed up there for First light he got really drunk the night before And i'm texting zach like elk are still in here. Get your guy out there. I'm on the other side Like there's still enough pivot. You can start seeing them through my eyes shooting lights in like 20 minutes And uh, i'm like get out there. He's like i'm trying he won't get up Five minutes before the legal shooting light walks 200 yards to the end of the corrals and that bull took about 10 cows and started to hit up the one of the ridges and Right there shot the bullet. Didn't know what he shot. What was it 360? For montana Especially for southwest montana. Oh, I don't know if it gets much better than that. No, it's pretty easy drove the tractor right up to it and then meanwhile I'm killing her acorn. My guys are killing her acorns because it's the first elk busted here. Oh five miles. Yeah Yeah, they're all everything's coming off your back. And yeah. Oh, wait, is it wrong with frowning? Yeah Richard frowning jr. He's pretty fit dude. Yeah, they were him and his camera guy were like trying to compete Who could get up the hill the fastest who was the poor guy who had to guide rich frowning? Oh, we were all with him. Oh, really? Yeah Which the one he killed Easy pack out. Oh for real the one I killed At the bottom did he help you? Oh, yeah. Oh, that's cool Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, he beat He was at the side of the side and waiting for like two hours for no kidding Yeah, you guys are getting fired up for upseason it's a ways out What about spring turkey are you guys all into that a more ---- hunting Interested Yeah, I think I think you dig it It's my favorite time of year When the mountains are the snow lines just slowly receding And the green follows and the mountains are coming back to life and animals are out everywhere. They are free. It's like the best there's no bugling so it's not like That but i'd say spring bear if I couldn't elk hunt i'd focus on the spring bear as like the thing But yeah, and montana's got Okay, spring bear.
