What's up everyone, welcome back to the channel
and welcome to another video.
It's that time again, it's time for the fits of the week,
where I bring you some of the best menswear fits
from around the socials,
just in time for some weekend inspiration.
Before we jump into it, I'd just like to ask
if you get anything from this video,
if you could hit the like and subscribe button.
Check out archerinwards.com for pre-owned menswear
and also sign up to my sub stack.
It's called The Guidance, it's a newsletter I send out
most days of the week with links to pre-owned items I find.
So I put together like a big curated list
of some of the best deals you can get
from all like the resale sites,
from a lot of the brands you probably know and love.
If you watch this channel, brands like Buck Mason,
Natalino, Anderson and Shepard, all that good stuff.
So I'll put a link in the description for that.
Also do follow me on Instagram as well.
So I've been trialing doing like a shorts version of this,
like a few times a week.
So like my favorite fits of the day.
There's other content in there as well,
where I just post like my outfits
and just general menswear inspo in a shorter form.
So it's at MrDukeHodges for that.
But enough about all that, let's get into these fits.
First up we have the man behind Pep Vlogs.
So I did feature this in a video earlier this week.
I'm gonna try and keep those videos separate.
So like the outfits in those videos
different to the ones that we do in these longer form ones.
But I had to put this in here
because I just absolutely love this coat.
So it's like a wider check pattern.
You've got grays in there, browns,
possibly some like purples,
or it might be just like a darker brown.
It's also got like a red roll neck on, a beret.
We've got a denim shirt it looks like,
cause there's a little bit of denim
peeking out from the cuff.
Some like sand color trousers
and then these really lovely suede lace ups as well.
And it's like really warm fox color.
As I said, the coat is phenomenal.
I love that there's a pattern in there.
It's a big pattern.
It's not a strong pattern
because the colors are quite faded and subtle.
And that's what I really like about it.
It's like, I do love a statement coat.
I do like the more extravagant coats with bolder patterns,
but it's also nice to have one just a bit more subtle.
The other thing I really love about this outfit
is the warm and cool tones.
Cause there's a lot of cool tones with the coat itself,
the denim of the shirt,
then you've got warmth with the red roll neck
and then those shoes as well.
Those shoes are really warming up the whole outfit.
And I think those two just compliment each other so much.
It gives a really nice balance.
If you haven't checked out Peplord,
their online store and Instagram page, definitely do.
They do some really great items like wallets, clothing,
bags, and just really great inspiration as well.
So they're based out in Italy.
I think this was actually a temporary pop-up.
They did, I think it's just more an online store,
but definitely worth checking out.
Next up we have Drew Thomas
or his Instagram handle is itsdrew.
And we've got a really cool outfit.
It's like a quite a nice blend of like casual wear
and then the sport coat as a bit more of a,
a bit more of a formal item.
So it's a Prince of Wales check jacket
with a lot of black beiges in,
cream sweater on, another sweater around the shoulders.
I know a lot of people have strong feelings on that.
I don't mind it.
It looks good for the photo and an orange beanie
and then some wide leg pleated trousers
and then some brown boots on.
So the color palette here is the thing
that really draws me to it,
as well as the juxtaposition between the wide leg trousers
and then the formal sort of like sport coats.
It's a lot like traditional menswear
with a bit more contemporary stuff
with a really nice classic color palette.
Then the beanie on top to throw in a bit of a spanner
in the works for that as well.
Loads of things going on,
but it sits really cohesively because of the color palette.
And for the purpose of the photo,
I like the double sweater around the shoulders,
but I do see the impracticality of it as well.
Next we have Ultra I'm So Beautiful over on Instagram.
And this is another account
I definitely recommend following.
So we've got a peak lapel brown corduroy suit,
brown tailoring.
It's one of my favorite things ever.
I talk about it all the time.
I always have to mention a brown suit
in pretty much every video I film.
He's paired it with a light blue shirt,
a blue knitted tie,
a, I think it could be brown
or a bit more of a movie sort of like beanie,
some sunglasses.
And actually there's another photo he's posted
with without the tie.
And he's got like,
the shirt's like a very extended,
big collar to it,
very seventies.
And I think the brown and the blue
is a really nice choice for the color palette.
It's something,
it's adding color without going too crazy and out there.
It's not necessarily a color palette
you're gonna be seeing on too many people out and about.
So it's something a little bit different.
So I think if you,
if you do like to be a little bit more extravagant
with the dressing,
with your tailoring,
you can do that just simply with one extra color,
like he's done here.
You don't have to go lots of different colors
all over the place or patterns.
You can get your classic brown corduroy suit
and just throw in a light blue in there
and it gives a really nice effect.
So next up we have Adam Chan.
So his Instagram handle is hair house by Adam Chan.
So I picked this up on the anthologies page.
So they've just opened a store over in Shanghai.
Definitely worth checking out the store,
the space is incredible.
This is a really interesting outfit
because there's so many classic elements in this,
but just like subtle differences
make it very like contemporary and different.
You've got a pattern blazer,
then a crew cable net deep V sweater underneath,
a denim shirt,
and then a light blue tie.
I can't see what material that is.
Then some like stone colored chinos
and some brown suede loafers.
And also with the socks,
they're similar color to the sort of like chinos.
It's like quite stone,
sort of like just off white maybe.
The deepness of the V of that cable net sweater
and then the denim shirt as well underneath.
And then that,
so it just adds a little bit of a twist to an outfit,
which with the sort of like traditional pattern blazer
and then also just like wearing a tie.
It's a really nice interesting and creative way
of putting together like a smart casual outfit.
Next up we have Tim Marvin
and this is another outfit where
it's something a little bit different.
I just felt like,
I don't know,
I'm in the mood this week
for just exploring different things.
So we've got this double breasted green unstructured jacket,
then a navy knitted polo underneath,
some sort of like wide leg ivory trousers,
and then some animal print slippers.
I can never,
leopard print,
I can never really tell which animal it is.
Animal print slippers.
And there's two aspects to this,
which I think make it work.
So you've got like this green color,
which is a little bit unusual for the jacket.
And then obviously the slippers as well.
But it's the silhouette,
so like the unstructured jacket,
the broader leg of the trouser,
which I think give it the freedom to be a bit more casual
and a bit more experimental with it.
Because I think if this was a bit more slimmer and tailored,
it just wouldn't look,
and it weren't anywhere near as good.
And the other thing then is also the pairing
with two more items,
which are a bit more classic.
So you've got the two bit different items,
and then you've got the classic really nice knitted polo,
and then the sort of ivory trousers as well,
even though a little bit wider
than maybe something super formal.
Like the two classic pieces.
And I think with the other two items
that are a little bit different,
it's a good blend
and it makes the whole thing quite cohesive.
So he doesn't like someone that's like, for me,
even when you've got like animal print shoes
and a bit of a different jacket
so you're seeing it out and about normally,
it doesn't look like it's too over the top.
It doesn't look too eccentric.
It just looks interesting and like creative.
So which is, I think what we would want,
if you're going to,
if you want to do something a little bit different,
if you want to experiment a bit
and be a bit more creative with the way you're dressing,
I think this is a nice way of doing it.
Thinking about the silhouette overall
rather than just the colors.
Because I think a lot of people will lean
to jumping on different colors
or jumping on patterns quite a lot.
Think about the silhouette as a whole.
So I think I can really carry an outfit.
So for our final fit,
we've got Will who works at P. Johnson.
I had the pleasure of meeting Will the other day.
I went over to their,
well, the opening of their London store,
which is just off of Savile Row.
It's a really impressive space.
They've had a place here in London for a good bit,
but I think this is just another level.
And I'm a big fan of the brand.
Like I've really liked the look books
they've been putting out over the years.
They've got some really great photography with them.
And I've been using them as inspiration
for such a long time.
It's nice to have a good chance
to really have a good look at the items in person
and meet some of the people there.
So you can see the backdrop.
This is the front desk
where they had some cocktails and stuff.
So they've got this really extravagant glass table
and this tapestry in the backdrop.
Will's got on here is very typical of a P. Johnson cut.
And I like that fact
there is almost a signature cut.
I like seeing brands.
We were talking about the anthology earlier
and I feel like I could spot one of their suits a mile off.
And I think like P. Johnson,
yeah, I can sort of see that as well.
So you've got a bit of like a slightly wider leg.
I think this is a bit slimmer
than some of the more recent stuff
which they've got a bit more of a wide leg
and an extended length to the jacket as well.
A little bit of structure to the shoulders,
a nice size lapel
and just like a muted color palette as a whole.
Similar to the reason I like Anglo-Italian as well.
Like they're very wearable outfits.
They don't have to shout with their color palette.
You can do it in like monochrome fits.
You can do it with just all navy.
You can do it with a simple navy suit and a white shirt.
It's just like the silhouette do its job.
And I really like that.
And if you are in London,
I would definitely recommend heading over to P. Johnson
just to look at the store.
It's incredible.
But anyway, there were the fits of the week.
