Good morning It's Sunday Sunday morning or morning time And today I'm
taking you along on my Sunday
I'm putting on my jacket because I'm heading out now
I'm meeting a friend for a coffee
And I'm taking my gym bag with me because I'm going to the gym afterward
It's a truly beautiful winter day outside
The weather is truly nice the sky is blue the sun is shining but it's still cold
Alright let's do this
May I ask what your name is
Yes my name is Ela
Hi Ela
Hello How are you doing
I'm doing quite well today
Tell me Ela you speak several languages right You're
multilingual Exactly Which
languages do you speak then
I speak German English Turkish and a little French
Impressive But you also speak Russian don't you
I can't speak it as well anymore but I did study Russian
for a few years in school and I still remember a few words
And how is it that you speak all the other languages
I also learned English and French in school and Turkish is my second native language
Okay
I grew up speaking it too
And tell me is there a language you prefer speaking the most
I'd rather speak German because I speak it best
But I also enjoy speaking English or even Turkish and practicing the language at the same time
Do you actually feel different when using different languages
Do you feel different for instance when speaking German
versus Turkish After all both are your native languages
Even a little bit especially since I don't speak
Turkish very fluently I sometimes have to think a bit
I mainly speak Turkish with my family and that makes me
feel a bit different than when I speak German with my friends
Yes I completely understand that I find it really fascinating
The sky was beautifully blue just a short while ago but now it's cold and overcast isn't it
Yes unfortunately the sun has disappeared too
So what are you doing today then
Today I'm going to have something for lunch and then head to the gym
Are you going to the gym today too
Yes exactly
What sport do you
do I'm going to the gym
Me too And after that I'd also
go for a quick sauna session
Very nice Really a lovely Sunday
Yes I'm looking forward to it
too It's properly cold now The sun has disappeared
But it was lovely with Ela at the café and strolling around
And now I'm off to exercise
I'm back from my
workout back from the gym That was really tough
I didn’t film the strenuous part at all—
I only recorded the stretching afterward
But I love properly stretching after exercising
Yes and now the
truly relaxed part of my Sunday begins It's after
five so after five in the afternoon It's still light outside
The days are getting a little
longer again That feels wonderful
And now I'm going to read I'm going to read a book
The book I'm currently reading is called Troubles of Every
Kind Trouble worry distress
Troubles of Every Kind— that's the title of the book
And the author's name is Marianna Lecky
And this book contains many very short stories
So many short stories
It's not a long story but rather many individual short
stories each connected in some way to theme of sorrow
And I'd like to ask you do you
actually read in German too And if so what do you read
I've noticed that in German I actually rarely read short stories
but when reading in foreign languages for example Portuguese I
always read short stories and brief texts because it's easier
But finding good books or suitable reading material isn't quite as
easy when you'reading in a foreign language I think
That's why I'm asking you—do you read
in German If so what are you reading
Do you specifically read books or stories for German learners
written in simple German And how do you read What helps you
For example do you write new vocabulary words directly into the book
Do you read books you've already read in another language Also
what tips and experiences do you have with reading in German
Or reading in a foreign language
Please share your thoughts in the comments
I'm really looking forward to your tips and experiences
and I look forward as always to writing with you
Exactly I'll read a bit more now then cook and eat
something at some point and
just let Sunday be Sunday
Okay see you soon Bye
