Hi, welcome to Dixie's Storytime World. This is a story about a boy named Kip who's had to tackle
lots of challenges since he was born, but he's amazing and wherever he goes he brightens up the
room. Funny Little Feet, based on a true story by T. Hindeman. To get your copy of this book
please check the links in the description at the bottom of this video. Once there was a boy
named Kip with funny little feet. Kip had two big brothers who always ran and played. Kip tried and
tried with all his might, but his funny little feet just stayed. When Kip finally got on his
funny little feet they turned all different ways. One would turn to the left, one would turn to the
right. They would shake and wiggle, twist and wriggle until Kip would find himself falling to
the ground and his brothers would giggle. Kip would cry for mommy or daddy and they would scoop him up
little guy. As the days went by Kip's funny little feet still didn't want to work right,
even though Kip was putting up one heck of a fight. Kip visited a doctor and cast a plaster
on his funny little feet. Mommy told Kip we are going to make you special little braces
so hopefully you can run and play and jump or leap. Kip's funny little feet were fitted with
SMOs. They were braces with bright purple straps and went from the top of his ankles to the tips
of his toes. It took Kip a minute to get used to their feel, but once he did Kip no longer had to
around or just kneel. Kip could stand, Kip could walk, Kip's funny little feet didn't shake all
around. Kip did have to wear special shoes and lifting them up they had to be well over a pound.
As happy as Kip was to walk and stand some kids laughed at his braces, some kids just stared.
This made Kip feel very sad and mommy helped him feel more prepared. Kip showed his friends how
his SMOs helped him stand and walk. He told them as he grew he would get bigger ones. It turned
out to be a pretty good talk. As Kip kept growing so did his funny little feet. He still needed help
with his walking so the doctor did a cast repeat. This time Kip's knees were acting a little funny
too. Kip would get all new braces and mommy told him they would be special just like you.
Kip's braces got taller and were now called AFOs. They had bright green straps and now went from
just below his knee down to his toes. Some kids might think they look funny. Kip thinks they look
unique. He is so thankful they help him walk and are fixing his funny little feet. And who do we
have here? Yes this is the picture of our superstar Kip. Kids always remember to believe in yourself
and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.
