My Everyday Makeup Routine (That Makes Me Feel Put Together)

For the first time, like, ever,
I actually have an everyday makeup routine
and look that I've been doing.
I've just been really liking the routine
of putting on some makeup each day
that just makes me feel more put together, really.
So I'm starting with a completely blank face.
I did all my skincare.
I put on sunscreen today, too.
I'm wearing the Tatcha one.
The sun has just really been out
these last couple weeks in Oregon,
and I'm someone that normally doesn't wear sunscreen
in the winter, but it's something
I really wanna get better at.
So I was like, okay, I see the sun today,
put on my sunscreen.
And then I like to go in with some kind of
pore-filling, pore-smoothing primer.
This is the Smashbox Pore Vanishing one.
And I just like to rub this all over,
and this just makes my skin feel really smooth
and gives me a nice base for my foundation
to go on top of.
Because I do have quite a bit of texture,
so I just like how this kinda smooths everything out for me,
and I really like how it feels, too.
It's this one in the purple tube here.
And then some days I like to do
a little bit of color correcting.
You can see I have some redness going on
on some spots here.
And I'm also very, very, very fair.
Like, I am the palest of pales that I get right now.
So it's kinda tricky for me to find
a good green color corrector,
so if you have a good recommendation, I'm open.
So I've just been using this one by e.l.f.,
and I'll just kinda put that on some areas
that are a bit redder,
just to neutralize that redness.
I do have this green color corrector
that I like from Salt New York.
This is more of like an olive green,
and it's a really good undertone,
but I'm too fair for it.
There's been days where I put this on,
and it just makes my skin look like Frankenstein, I guess.
Like, it actually turns me green and doesn't neutralize
because it's just too deep for me.
I'm just gonna take my foundation brush
that I'm gonna use and just tap in this green.
And I like to use my foundation brush for this step
because I know the product's gonna kinda work into this
so I can kinda distribute it all over my face.
And already that redness looks a lot better.
Then I'm gonna go in with an under-eye brightener.
I'm gonna use the Sigma one today.
So I'm just gonna take the light shade on my finger,
and I'm just gonna tap that into my under-eye.
I use this product every single day.
I don't really wear makeup to the gym,
but I do put some of this on just under my eyes like this
because look at that difference.
Like, it just brightens it up so much.
And then I can just bring whatever's left over on my eyelid.
I just look a lot more alive on this side of my eye.
I've also gone through like two or three
of these at this point.
Like, this really is one of my favorite under-eye brighteners
and, of course, I do have a code with Sigma.
It's just Angela Bright if you wanna save some money.
And even when I'm in a little pinch,
I'll use this one under my eyes,
and I can use this deeper shade
as a little bit of a concealer.
But that's what I do in the morning
when I'm going to the gym.
Today, I'm putting on a little bit more makeup than that.
Now, I don't really need to put foundation all over my face,
so I'm just gonna take a more medium
to full coverage concealer and just put this
on those spots that are still peeking through.
So this is the newer Charlotte Tilbury
Airbrush Flawless Finish Blur Concealer.
I'm using the shade Three Fair,
and this is a more mattifying concealer,
but it's still kind of hydrating,
so that's why I like it on my face.
And it's really full coverage,
so for me, it's a little bit too much under the eyes,
but I really like it on my face.
So I dotted that all over.
I'm gonna go back to my foundation brush
and just start to blend.
But I've also been trying to get into this habit
of doing my makeup a little bit each day
because it really does help my skin picking.
Like, if I put makeup on my face,
I know I'm not gonna sit there throughout the day
and try to touch my skin and feel for things.
If you're a skin picker or a hair puller,
you know what I'm talking about.
But I've learned that if I have makeup on,
I'm not gonna touch my face,
and so it helps me just to put on some makeup each morning,
and it makes me feel better.
But I'm really just trying to even out my skin tone here
with not a lot of layers.
Honestly, it's kind of funny doing this video
right after recreating my 2016 makeup look.
I loved reading your guys' comments in that video,
but it was just crazy how much makeup
I used to cake on my face every day at 19 years old.
And the goal for this look isn't really to look perfect.
Like I said, I still wanna look like myself,
just more put together.
So I know there's still gonna be some imperfections
and discoloration that peeks through,
but that's what makes your skin look like skin,
like real human skin, you know?
So now that my skin tone is more even,
I wanna add some color and definition to my face.
And for this, I've really been
in a contour bronzing stick phase.
They're all really good.
I just kinda rotate between the three.
I would say the Anastasia one is more full coverage,
and since I'm going for something softer today,
I'm gonna go with the Makeup Forever one in Endless Cacao.
So for this, I'm gonna take my BK Beauty 115, not 115.
So for this, I'm gonna take my BK Beauty 109
and just kinda get some product on the tip here.
I'll work the product into my brush using my hand
just to make sure it's kinda evenly distributed.
I'll just kinda go back and forth a little bit
until I feel happy.
And I usually start on my forehead,
and I'm just gonna start to kinda dot on this product here.
And I'm really just adding some color along my hairline here.
You can also draw it on like that.
I've always been a fan of Endless Cacao by Makeup Forever.
I really love the artist pencil version of it.
This one right here.
So when they came out with it in a contour stick version,
I was like, perfect, I'm sold.
And I really love this shade on me
because it doesn't look cool-toned or ashy or anything,
but it just adds the perfect kinda neutral,
slightly bronzy color that my skin needs.
And then I'll just drag a little bit down my neck too.
And then I'll grab a smaller brush.
This is the BK Beauty N22,
and I'll take more of that contour
and just kinda bring it down my nose here.
And I've never been a pro at nose contouring,
so I try to use a really light hand,
but I like to have the color on my nose.
And then I'll just take the foundation brush
and just tap it over.
But I do like to get right under the tip of my nose
right here and a little bit above.
And then I take this contour stick
and I start to contour around my eyes a little bit as well.
So again, same brush.
I'm gonna bring that under my eye right here.
Then I also like to go on this outer crease.
I'll switch back to my 109 for this.
I'm really just trying to naturally contour my face,
just adding color back to my face where I want it,
but in a very soft way.
And you can see too, it's a lot of cream products
because that's what's gonna sit nicely
on my skin throughout the day.
Next is blush.
I've really been into this Makeup By Mario
Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil.
I've had this in my collection for a while,
but it's this shade, Pink Peony.
And it's one of those shades
that looks really intimidating,
but this formula is actually really sheer,
which is exactly what I want for this kind of makeup look.
Same brush I use for that contour.
And again, I kind of work the product into my hand
and just tap that on the cheek.
Yeah, this is not one of those intimidating,
super intense blush formulas.
Didn't he just come out with another blush formula
that was in a pot or something?
I think it's K-Beauty inspired.
What I was kind of doing for a minute,
and I didn't film any of this,
is that each day I was trying to use a different blush
in my collection just to make sure I liked the shade
because there's a lot of blushes I have
that I was like,
I don't really know what this looks like on me.
And so I took some time to try a lot of them on
and actually like wear them.
And this was one that surprised me.
I was like, oh, I actually do like the shade on myself.
And I think it looks really pretty,
especially on my really fair days like today.
And you'll see me just kind of tap this all over my face.
Sometimes I think it's funny how I spent that time,
you know, kind of neutralizing my face,
getting rid of the color.
And now I'm just adding bronzer and blush back to my face.
But that's what we do, right?
That's the fun part.
Adding it where I want it though.
Now I'm going to go back to my concealer
and just use it to kind of clean up my face a little bit.
So like I have this mark right here
that's underneath my blush
that I want to cover a little bit more.
And then I'll add the tiniest bit under my eyes.
Tell this to 2016 Angela.
And then I'll just kind of tap in that concealer
right on those spots.
I don't really want to blend it out too, too much.
You can use your finger or a brush, doesn't matter.
And this Charlotte Tilbury one is pretty full coverage too.
So I really don't need a lot,
but I'm also trying to stay under that little contour
that I put under my eye.
Really just trying to brighten right here.
Take my blush brush, maybe blend a little bit.
I'm also going to tap out any creases that are on my eyelid
because I'm about to put on some powder.
I'm going to do a tiny bit of powder.
I'm just going to use a Charlotte Tilbury airbrush,
a flawless finish one.
I'm just going to lightly powder my entire face.
I like to do my entire forehead,
down my nose, my lip, my chin,
and then kind of like the center of my cheeks right here.
And I will do my eyelids too.
Now I'm going to fill in my brows just a little bit.
I've really been into the Anastasia micro stroke brow pen.
This is medium brown.
This is like a perfect shade match for me.
So I just start by brushing through my brows,
especially cause there might be some powder
or just like product on them.
And then you have this itty bitty brow pen
and I like to hold the pen like this.
I'm just going to do light strokes flicking upwards.
Sometimes my camera can't capture this in focus.
I do a couple in the front
and then right here in this upper arch and then my tail.
And I have old micro blading in my brows.
And to me, this looks like really close to it.
So not a huge difference, but this one is filled in.
That one was the before.
I went ahead and filled in the other one
and now I'm going to put in some clear brow gel.
This is the Rare Beauty one.
I ran out of this brow gel, I don't know,
like two months ago or so.
And I've been trying to use other clear brow gels
that I have in my collection instead of this one,
but I did like repurchase this immediately,
but I just opened this the other day
and I was like, oh, I missed you.
I just really love how this holds up my brows.
Back to the face, I want to add some highlighter
and the highlighter I've just been using over and over
is this NARS Eros.
And I'm going to use that with the Tati Beauty SP4.
This is one of the Tati brushes that I cannot stop using.
I'm just going to hit like right under my brow bone,
on my cheekbone of course, pop a little bit on my nose.
Then I'll take some on my finger
and just kind of go right in the inner corner.
Oop, that was too much.
That was too much, okay.
Tone that down, just keep tapping.
I'll even add just a little bit to the center of my eyelid.
Like this is not an eyeshadow look.
I'm creating illusions and glow and contour where I want it.
And this just kind of brightens up the eyelid a tad.
I'm going to add more blush.
Just a smidgen where I feel like I need it.
And like when I do this,
I'm pretty far away from my mirror right now.
I'm really just looking at the colors of my face
and where I want this color to be.
At least I'm only wearing one blush today.
Star of the show is the last product
I'm going to put on my eyes.
And when this product launched,
I saw it and I was like, it's so simple,
but I know I'm going to love it.
It's a freaking clear mascara, but this is by The Ordinary.
It's the Lash Curl Finisher.
Yes, it is a clear mascara,
but they also put some kind of sticky magic in this
that really holds a curl throughout the entire day.
Guys, I wear this every single day
and my lashes stay curled.
Now, this is not really a lash primer.
This is not something you should put on
and then put a mascara on top of.
I've tried it.
It looks clumpy.
You could try it if you want, I guess.
But what I love this for is for makeup days,
just like today, where I want to look like myself,
but I want to look awake.
So it has a curved wand like that
and it goes on completely clear.
So with this, you have to use a lash curler before.
My favorite is the Shiseido one.
All right, I'm gonna get my lashes up in here
and give them a good curl.
And like, you want to make sure this curl is good.
You want to apply it like mascara.
You want to coat every single lash
so it's gonna hold that curl.
It's also really conditioning, too.
Like, it doesn't leave your lashes crunchy
like a typical clear mascara would.
Like, it stays conditioning.
Look at that difference, right?
Nothing.
Amazing.
I'll put a little bit down here, too.
Might as well.
I was really excited to see this product from The Ordinary
because I love their eyelash serum.
That is what I use to grow my lashes
and keep them nice and thick.
I've been using that lash serum for a few years now
and it doesn't irritate my eyes at all
like other ones have in the past.
But every time I put this on,
I am just shocked by the before and after.
And like, it stays like this throughout the entire day.
I swear.
Just need a good lash curler.
A little down here.
But really, I love this product.
It is so simple, but I love how it looks.
Like, I just look so much more alive and awake right now.
And if I want to be a little extra,
I'll just take a dark brown liner
and put that in my tight line.
And that's just gonna make my lash line
look a lot thicker and just more defined.
So that is with the liner added.
I just love that difference.
Now, the lip product I just keep grabbing for
ever since I bought it
is the Rode Peptide Lip Shape in the shade Twist.
So I like to use this to line around my entire lip.
I love how creamy this is
and how it's not like a typical lip pencil
where it's gonna give you a harsh line.
It gives a much more soft, smudgy, blurred line,
which is exactly what I want for this kind of look.
And then this is rare for me,
but I actually will take the other side of this product.
It's like a little smudger and I use it to smudge.
And then I just want to finish off
with some kind of glossy lip product
that I'm using at the moment.
Recently, I've been using the Patrick Ta Lip Balm.
This one is a milk tea.
It is a basic light nude, of course.
And that is the final look.
So that is my current everyday makeup look.
As always, I'm gonna list and link all the products
and brushes I used today down below.
And I'll see you guys in the next one.
