Hey everyone welcome or welcome back to my channel. Today I have some spring and
Easter DIYs to share with you that you're really going to enjoy so
if you want to know how to make them, stick around. I'll show you how. Thank you so
much for being here. I really appreciate it. Right Maxwell?
Okay for this one we're going to use some white tissue paper and we're going
to use a piece of copy paper and we are going to cut our tissue paper
where it has about a half inch overhang all the way around your paper
and then we are going to tape this onto our copy paper.
So just make sure you get enough so you can tape it off into the back
and then just center your copy paper on there and then just tape it all the way
around. Now don't worry about the wrinkles because you're not even going
to see these once we get done with our project
but you want to tape it on there good enough there it'll go through your copy
machine without buckling up or tearing. So put
quite a bit of tape on it and try to get it straightened out as much as you can.
After you get all this taped I've given you an image in the description below.
You can just download it and then we're just going to print it on the front
part of this tissue paper and I'm just using a regular
inkjet printer. I got this rabbit at Hobby Lobby it ended up being about two
dollars and fifty cents. You don't have to use this rabbit you
could use a large egg you could use just a rectangular piece of wood
just something that is big enough where that whole picture
covers it and then you want to pick two colors of paint for this you want to
pick a dark color and then you want to pick a light color
something that matches the print. My base color I'm using a burnt umber and
I'm going to paint the entire thing with this. This is going to be your base
color which is going to be the dark color
and if you can find something that has cutouts like this rabbit does
it's going to be a little bit more of an interesting piece once you get your
print on it and I'm going to paint the front the
back and the sides all with this brown color.
Now you don't have to use the picture that I'm supplying you can pick any kind
of picture that you want to just as long as you can print it on a
full eight and a half by eleven sheet of paper.
Okay next I'm going to cover the entire bunny with a crackle medium
now you can use an Elmer's glue on this if you want to but I will give you the
link for the one I'm using because I really do like the way it works
but you want to cover the entire front with this and try not to let it drip
down the sides and the heavier that you apply it the
more crackle you're going to get so try to get plenty on there and then
you're going to set this aside and you're going to let this dry completely
mine took about two hours to dry completely
after my crackle medium has dried I'm going to take some
vintage white paint this is like a cottage white color
and then I'm going to take my big paintbrush and I'm going to start
painting it now you want to try to go up and down strokes and you want to move
fast because this is going to start cracking
super fast and you don't want to go over the same
section two or three times because once it starts cracking you'll end up covering
it up with the paint so you can kind of see that this is
already starting to crack just let it do its work and then just
set it aside and let that go now for about 15 minutes that's how much
mine cracked and then you're going to take your tissue paper and you're going
to cut it off of your copy paper and we are going to decoupage this onto
our rabbit so get all your paper off now mine was
shy about maybe a quarter of an inch from
covering my entire bunny but I'm going to fill it in with a piece that I take
off so just figure out exactly where you
want it on here I just wanted a little bit of the face
and a little bit of the ears but this is really an interesting piece once you get
done just kind of get as much of it onto your rabbit as you can
and then we're going to apply mod podge to it
to attach it so really coat your piece with the mod podge
but you want to make sure that this is completely dry from the paint that you
just put on here otherwise you're going to move it around
and then I'm not going to let this dry I'm going to put my tissue paper right
on top of it and then I'm going to smooth it out with some
cellophane plastic wrap but you do want to get an even coat on this you don't
want to overdo it on this and then once you get that on just kind
of line your picture up over the top part of it
and then take your plastic wrap and start smoothing it out
the plastic wrap works really good because it'll let you smooth it out
without it sticking to your hands or sticking to anything else it smooths
it out really nice but you want to make sure you're getting all the way to the
edge on this because once we start taking the excess paper off you're going
to need it to be glued all the way to the edge and this
moves out real quick and easy with the plastic wrap and then just set that
aside and let that dry really well that's dried I'm just going to kind of
go around the edges and kind of get most of the paper off and then that way
you can see what you're working with and then you see at the very top where
the white's still showing I'm going to take another piece of that
paper and I'm going to stick it up there and blend it in
and this is where I'm just going to cut another little piece kind of just a
random piece and I'm going to glue it on here and this will blend
in real good here in a little bit just kind of figure out exactly where you
want it and then go ahead and glue that on and
then let that dry and then once we get done with this you're not going to see
all the lines between the two and you're just going to grab a little
hand sander and you're going to start going away from your bunny so you're
going on the edges and you're moving away from it and to drag the pieces off
this is an easy way to get this off of here
with this sanding pad and I'm going to get most of it off now I
am going to have a piece that's going to go inside that I'm not going to get to
be able to get to and I'll show you exactly how I'm going
to do that piece but you have to make sure that you're
glued all the way to the edge and if you have any that like that
white spot right there I'm just going to blend it in with some paint
and then just continue till you get all your paper off
and this really didn't take that long and it wasn't that hard and it doesn't
tear up your piece either it works really good these little hand sanders
is that I couldn't get with the sander I'm just taking a lighter and just going
inside there and it's going to burn the rest of it off
next to make it a little bit more distressed around the edges I'm taking
some Tim Holtz walnut stain and I'm going all the
way around the bunny and I'm going to put a pretty generous amount on here
and it did kind of blend in with the colors of the picture and it does look
really good doing it that way and you're just going along the outside
edge this is what's going to give it the more vintage look
and try to put it on kind of as heavy as you can if you have any places that lift
like right there just go back in with your mod podge and lay them down
and then that's all I'm going to do with this one to complete the project I think
it didn't need anything like a bow or anything like that I think it just
looked really good just like this let me know what you think in the comments
which one's your favorite today
this next one I'm just going to take a piece of cardboard and then I've given
you this pattern for these glasses in the description below just download them
and cut them out and then we're going to cut these out of
just some cardboard once you get that cut out we're just
going to lay it onto a piece of cardboard and we're going to trace it
out and then we're going to use an exacto
knife to cut this out and then after we do the
outside edge we'll cut the center as well
but you want to make sure that your pencil is dark enough once you lift your
glasses off there so you can see it with the exacto knife
cut it out since you pretty much have some straight lines right there just use
a ruler and cut against the ruler and then you can get your top and your
bottom and your sides cut out pretty easy then we'll just do the curved area
kind of free-handed and I'm just going to kind of curve right around there with
my exacto knife to cut that off on the corners
on all four sides once you've got the outside cut we're just going to take our
exacto knife cut down in the center and we're going to cut the center out
and then we're going to trace it onto our cardboard as well and then just cut
it out with the exacto knife this does not have to be perfect because
we are making a little caricature with this
and then once you draw your inside part just take your exacto knife and just cut
it out just like you did the outside edge
next I'm just going to take some black acrylic paint and I'm going to paint the
inside the outside and the back of these black
just kind of really get into where those openings on the cardboard is so you can
kind of make sure that you do get those filled in good
you don't have some smooth edges on the inside of your glasses just take your
fingers and just kind of push them into the
cardboard and you might want to wear some gloves on this part because I did
get quite a bit of paint on my hands next I got these rabbit feet from
Hobby Lobby and I'm going to use the back side of them because I'm making a
chicken and I am going to fill the hole in with some wood filler
and then I'm going to paint these with a Martha Stewart carrot colored paint I
started to use the paint that I have here
but I switched over to the Martha Stewart carrot color
and I'm only going to paint this side of them I'm not going to paint both sides
just kind of brush it to the edge so you don't get it all over the sides
and then just set those aside and let those dry and these rabbit
feet worked perfect for this for my chicken's body I'm just going to put
some glue on the bottom of one of the flocked
big eggs that I got at Hobby Lobby and I'm going to center it over my feet
and I think this is like a 10 inch flocked egg
and then just set that aside and let it dry really good
next I'm just going to center my glasses right over the front part of his face
this just gave him a little bit more studious look
and I'm just going to put a little bit of glue around the inside edges across
the nose and right there I'm not going to put it all the way around and it'll
stick up off of this face a little bit just kind of hold that there until it
dries good his eyes I just got this little doll eye kit from Amazon I'll
give you the link for it and I'm using some eyes that are about maybe a half of
an inch and I'm just using the exacto knife to
poke my hole right here and then I'm going to put the eyes in
then I am going to pull them back out a little bit and add
just a little bit of glue just push it on in there
and then do the same thing with the other and then we'll just lift them out
and get a little bit of glue under them not too much and I'm just kind of
centering these in the glasses and I'm just backing them out just a
little bit to just put a little bit of glue behind his eye
they stayed in there pretty good they were pretty tight but I think just a
little dab of glue will do you and I'm doing that for both eyes
next to give him some eyebrows I'm just going to cut a sliver out of a black
craft foam just kind of do a little u-shape on
them they don't have to be perfect and you're going to cut two of them
and then I'm going to glue both of them on just kind of at a diagonal on both
sides don't put so much glue that you see it
oozing out just a little fine line and then kind of tilt them at an angle
and do the same thing with the other one kind of matching it
he's already starting to look cute for his beak I'm just going to use two
little small hearts and I'm going to paint them orange now I'm going to paint
the front the back and the sides completely with this
because you are going to see it so make sure you do paint it completely
for those have dried we're going to join the two together kind of at a diagonal
so that his mouth is open so you're just going to put a little glue on the very
back part of the heart and then leave an opening in the front
where his mouth is open and then we're going to put a little
glue on the very back of it and just attach it to his face
for his hair I'm going to take a sheet of crepe paper this measures 10 inches
tall it comes on a roll I'll give you the link for these I get them on
Amazon and then I'm going to fold this in two
thirds so just go across till you get to the center
and then we're going to fold it over again to the opposite side
and then we're going to cut along the bottom edge to open it up completely
the top edge of your crepe paper is completely open and then on the bottom
you want to go ahead and glue it together now just put you a small
fine bead of glue you don't want too much because we are going to have to
roll this once we cut it but the top edge has you'll have three
sheets of crepe paper and they'll just all be separated at the
top next you take your scissors on the top
side and you're going to cut all the way till about half an inch from the bottom
so you're cutting down to the end that we just glued
so you have all your little pieces open at the top
I just flipped it over from where I was just gluing
and then just go all the way down and you're just doing about quarter inch
cuts all the way down next we're just going to start rolling it and we're
going to roll from this end all the way to the other end and we're going to put
some glue along the way just to hold this together
but just keep going until you have it completely rolled up to the other end
and try to keep the bottom edge straight because it will want to tend to kind of
pull out of the bottom but just try to get it as straight as you
can get it and then once you get it completely glued just start opening it
up just kind of start fanning it open and then I am going to cut the bottom
off just a little bit shorter don't go all the way up to where you just cut
those little strips just cut a little bit off the bottom
put a big dollop of glue all along the bottom edge here
really get a lot of glue on there and then just put it right in the center of
his head and glue it on and hold it until it
dries and then we're just going to fan all those out
kind of over his head and pull it down enough to where he has really a lot of
hair on top of his head so I'm going to take some wide ribbon
this is about one and a quarter inch and I'm just going to make a little bow tie
for him so just kind of make two loops and you're going to cut another piece to
go around the center and we're going to glue the loop in the
back right here we're also going to flip it over and
we're going to put a little bit of glue in the center
our piece that goes around the center of it we're just going to glue both sides
and fold those in just kind of make it a little bit
skinnier and then just kind of squeeze your bow tie together and then we're
going to wrap this around and then glue this in
and we are going to have to kind of cut it off it's a little bit long
and just kind of squeeze it in like a bow tie and then just cut that short
fold that over and then we're going to do the same thing on the opposite side
and just glue that into the back and I'm just going to glue it right to the very
front all right that was pretty easy that's
pretty much it look how cute he turned out let me know what you think in the
comments
this next one we're going to take a wash rag and I measured mine at 11 and a
half inches by 11 inches it's supposed to be a 12 by 12 but that's not what it
is if you can get a one that's a square
try to get one that's a square and I'm going to go a little bit slow on this so
you can see what I'm doing we're going to fold our fabric over at a
diagonal and then we are going to make two loops
for some bunny ears so just gather those up right there
and make them equal and we're going to put those side by side
and we're going to take a rubber band and put it around the top part
or around the bottom part of the ears to hold these together
just kind of make sure that they are side by side and then put your rubber
band around them okay next you can kind of straighten out
your wash rag and you're going to start folding it up now you try to get it as
smooth as you can as you're rolling it pull the sides out a little bit on both
sides and then keep rolling until you get all
the way up to the ears and this is going to be for the head so
once you get there try to smooth that out because that is
the head and then just wrap that around there and put a rubber band to hold that
together and you're going to put the rubber band
around the bottom part of the head and around the back part of the ears
and just double that up so that is pretty tight
and straighten out the back part of the bunny kind of straighten them out
together and then we are going to roll this
under to make his feet so roll it under like that put a rubber band around there
so you'll have two little bunny feet side by side and you're only going up
maybe about a half of an inch and then that's the little feet and we're
just going to fold it under come up underneath his chin and then
we're going to put a rubber band around the legs and
around the head to hold all this together just kind of
tuck some of that in there and then put your rubber band around the
top part all the way around the bottom legs
i'm going to take a green and white check ribbon and i'm just going all the
way around where the bottom of the feet are
all the way around to the top part of the head and i'm just going to tie this
into a bow these are cute little bunnies and you
give these to your friends or just group them in a little basket
they're just little cute little bunnies you could decorate their face up too but
i thought they were really cute just plain like that
next bunny super simple you're just going to take a square wash rag and cut
your tag off then you're going to start at the
diagonal and you're going to start rolling it all the way up till you get
to the opposite side this one would be good on a place
setting for your like a easter dinner just fold it in half and then
we're going to put a rubber band around the
center part just to hold this together and then we're making the head here just
make sure that your ears are the same length
and then take a rubber band and wrap it around the top part
to create the head and then we're just going to take a
green and white check ribbon and we're just going to tie a bow around it this
one was super simple and again these would be super cute on a plate
all right you can't get any simpler than that let me know what you think in the
comments make plenty of these because you can
give these to your friends as well look how cute those are
