This time we'll go through
a tutorial on how to fly the Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet
The top-requested trick from you all—what we're all eagerly waiting for
Thank you so much for your votes
Be sure to check out this video and give it a try yourself this time okay
So everyone thanks for joining us today
So this time let's begin our journey from Haneda Airport
First as usual a quick reminder: the content of this video is strictly for entertainment purposes only
Please use this only within the flight simulator
We'll continue from turning the battery on as before but proceed from there
We'll streamline things as much
as possible and keep it simple
but this time I feel we need to cover a few points upfront
For the PlayStation version there are currently some bugs related to
Auto Pilot so certain parts of this video can't be reproduced as shown
Please note that this may be the case so kindly keep this in mind
So let's quickly climb aboard the aircraft and get started with
this Working Title Simulations model included by default in MSFS 2024
The 747-8 does not have covers or chocks so
we'll board the aircraft directly in shift c
Now let's begin setting up the aircraft
First remove the cover from the battery switch
on the overhead panel then turn on the battery
Keep the guard closed when turning on the battery
Next set this standby power to auto
Next this external power—external
power supply—set both 1 and 2 to on
Then press this button to switch the
lower iCAS display to the checklist view
Skipping the electronic checklist won't affect the flight itself but it
may cause potions to appear so please complete it as early as possible
The parking brake is currently engaged and
all vul control switches are turned off
Free flight is fine in this state pressing the top
-left normal menu will take you to the page list
Next set the IRS to the left center light as well
Next switch this emergency light
to armed and close the guard
Simply closing the guard sets it to armed
If you've watched the previous video you'll know the external life support is
fully functional now that the aircraft's
power is on I'll switch on the nav lights
Keep the logo light on as needed this
time since it's daytime we'll keep it off
Next please confirm that this
TeaTus ATC selector is set to standby
Next turn on all the overhead panel fuel pumps
However leaving the tank switch on even for tanks without fuel may
trigger a warning so in such cases turn off the switch for that section
Once this is done start the APU by turning on this switch and then rotating it
to the start position after which it will
automatically return to the on position
Wait a moment until the APU starts up once you get used
to it you might as well enter the CDU data during the wait
Once the APU becomes available "Aber" will
appear next to the Gen1 and Gen2 sections
Press both buttons to switch power from the external source to the APU
Next turn on PAX 1 2 and 3
Also let's turn on this APU bleed as well
Now let's begin entering the CDU data this is nearly identical
to the 737 MAX and you've already seen the corresponding video
Given the complexity we'll focus only on the key points this
time If you haven't watched the first part of the 737 MAX video
If you've forgotten how to input
on the CDU be sure to check out that
video for reference—the input sequence is the same as on the 737 MAX
Position Initialization page — proceed
in the order of Root Page Performance Page
I'll leave the route we used here
This time we're flying from Haneda Airport to New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido
Regarding the performance page's weight I mistakenly provided it in kilograms during the 737 MAX discussion
It was a temperature display my apologies for the oversight
The PMDG 737 NEXT GENERATION can be switched to kilo standard for use
It appears that the Boeing aircraft in MSFS will only display temperature information
Incidentally for the 747-8 the transition altitude can be checked or modified from the VNAV page
Since it automatically sets based on the departure location it's perfectly fine to leave it as is
For the 747-8 the takeoff thrust setting page is called Thrust Limit
instead of N1 Limit though the selection process remains the same
I'll check the takeoff reference page value now since it will be needed later
This time the trim is 8.6 and V2 is 168 knots
Since the flap input is limited to only 10 or 20 let's set it to 10
Once you've finished entering the CDU data switch to the progress page and keep it ready
I'll set the minimum value next
Set the selector behind this one to Baro then adjust the value using the front knob
This time it's 257
Next we'll set the current atmospheric pressure You can use this knob to
adjust it but for simplicity just set it using the keyboard and move on
Next turn on this flight director
activating one will turn both on
Next switch the autopilot to armed mode using this toggle
Next set the speed to the V2 value we
just confirmed this time it was 168N
Next set the heading to the runway direction and for this session as
well use a rough value obtained by multiplying the runway number by ten
It's best to set the bank limit to auto using the rear selector
Next use this knob to set the cruise altitude which
we'll configure to 31 000 feet for this flight
Leave the L Nab and V Nab turned on next
If the L knob isn't responding properly press the top of this knob to enter heading select mode then turn on the L knob after takeoff
Make sure the fling gear lever is set to the down position
Also make sure the flap lever is set to zero
Next the automatic brake sets for RTO reject takeoff
Next confirm that all thrust levers are at the idle position
Also make sure all four UL control switches are present
Next set the seat belt sign to auto
We also need to secure this flight deck door but since it's not operational we'll proceed as is
Although you normally need to enter the SFOCK here in MSFS it will be automatically filled in when you perform the update so you can leave it as is
Next set both the engine anti-ice and wing anti-ice switches on the overhead panel to AUTO
Next I'll check that all four of these hydraulic engine pumps are turned on
Next I'll set all four of these hydrodynamic pumps to auto
Next keep all four engine bleed valves turned on
Next we'll set the beacon light to Auto however this time let'
s intentionally turn it off to verify the checklist's movement
Next set the TCAS ATC selector to the transponder
Let's begin starting the engine
First turn off all PAX units temporarily
Tap the Normal button located in the lower-left corner of the hot section to proceed to the Before Start page
You can complete the task by checking the boxes so if you've already reviewed and
performed the necessary actions go ahead and check them to display them in green
Let's assume the briefing has been completed and mark it as done
The sections without checkboxes change according to the current status
The beacon light we deliberately turned off earlier is still showing white
So let's set the beacon light to ON and double-check the checklist again
That’s how the display will change actually I forgot to bring my
bare-handed trimming set so that part hasn’t updated yet either
So let's set the trim to 8.6 which I just double-checked
If your controller isn't assigned trim controls you can operate it using the button on the left side of the joystick
You can check the trim value at the top of the eyelet
Once completed it will display as "Checklist Complete "
Starting with Engine No 4 pull the
starter switch to the left to initiate
Once the display for the No 4 engine on the upper engine indicator changes turn on the View Control switch
Then while checking the upper eye cover wait for a while
Proceed to start up the engines sequentially from No 3 down to No 1
I'll skip this repeated section for brevity
Once the engine start is complete turn off the ATU bleed and then switch off the ATU
Next I'll turn all three packs back on that I had just switched off
Next set the flaps to the takeoff position
Then we'll check the controls from this button
you can switch the pack display to the flight control
After finishing use this button to return to the checklist
Keep the taxi light on and if needed
also keep the runway turn-off lights on
Then we'll proceed with the pre-taxi checklist here for the recall
section press this button to check whether the potion appears
You can leave the tea kettle off for now—it's fine as is
Check here once you've confirmed that ground
support equipment is not connected to the aircraft
In practice it's common to begin the pushback before
starting the engine pushing back while starting the engine
Well since it's a simulator please just go with whatever method is easier for you
So thank you all for your
hard work Yes as usual this one
got quite long so I'll split the video here for this time
The second part of the lyrics will be posted as soon as it's ready so if you
haven't subscribed to the channel yet please consider doing so and stay tuned
We welcome your high ratings shares and comments
It would be great if you could leave requests in the comments
That’s right
I'd really appreciate it if you could keep sending them as they're incredibly helpful for creating videos
Well then that's all for today
