Bonjour! Thanks so much you all for being here! Life is very busy at the moment but also with good things: taking rest... my dentist treatment is a pretty complicated one and each week I need some time to recover from the dentist appointments and I am allowing myself that time. And seeing friends and family. My videos are a bit shorter and more repetitive maybe for that reason but I hope you are still enjoying them! Thanks for your continued support and for being here! Love, Marloes
Bonjour! Well, here we go again. Spring is coming, and so we are going to try to make this garden
look nice again. And like every year, I feel completely overwhelmed, but our gardener is
coming soon. He will do the big jobs, and my son is helping me getting the weeds out of the gravel.
If you've been following me here, you know that every spring I question my entire life and all
my life's decisions, especially concerning how we have created this garden. But I absolutely
love the garden once it's all done and flowers are blooming, and I know that is the reward
for all the hard work we put in each year.
And whenever I feel completely overwhelmed and exhausted from all the work that comes with
owning a house and property like this and running our businesses, I remind myself that I am living
in my Pinterest board that I created 15 years ago, and I will never take that for granted.
I have to admit that life is pretty busy at the moment. I am still working hard to get my
cookbook finished, but there are so many dishes that I still have to cook again, and make sure
I get all the measurements right so that I can write it down. Because so much of what I do is
I just throw in a couple of things, but that doesn't work when somebody else needs to be able
to make that recipe. And so I am cooking things again and again, and making sure that I get the
exact quantities right. And then of course I want to photograph everything, which I need to do during
the day because else I don't have enough daylight. And I'm trying to get all of this done while we
are still finishing our guest room. We'll have family visiting, we want to make sure that it's
all finished before they come. And then I'm still seeing my dentist every week. I have to say there
is progress, but my body is not liking having all this work being done in my mouth all the time.
But he's a really good dentist, I trust him. But all in all, with all the driving and it just
takes a lot of time, so I feel like I'm not really progressing with anything. But again, we're still
in winter, even though I am so looking forward to spring, and my mind's already in spring.
Technically, energetically, it's still winter. And I know that my body just isn't the same during
winter, and I'm just not as productive as I am during other months. So I'm just trying to stay
calm, keep being very present, just doing my everyday things, making sure we're all well-fed.
As soon as I don't eat well, I get very cranky. And we're also very busy with our oldest, who is
going to go to college. There's lots of decisions that he needs to make for this year. So we're just
busy doing life. And sometimes I wonder how I managed, over 20 years ago, when I wasn't
self-employed yet, how on earth I managed to get everything done. But I didn't have kids back then,
so maybe life was a little easier. But I'm just grateful that we are both working from home, that
we're able to organize our days, and that we're able to live this beautiful life with so much
freedom. But all of that being said, I don't really have a lot of updates for you. I wish I
could show you more of our guest room that we're trying to finish, but we're just not there yet. So
that will have to be for another video. I'm just sharing what I've been up to this week with you,
just simple everyday life. You seem to like that a lot, actually. I'm always worried that it's boring,
but a lot of you have said that you actually like just seeing what our everyday life looks like.
I'm really happy to know that my videos bring you joy, or a little escape, or just a moment
to relax with your coffee. I really love reading all of your comments. So again,
thank you so much for watching, and see you next week!
