OUR BIG TRIP BEGINS, We Have Missed Travelling So Much!

2026 travel is about to begin. Now, we figured out we filmed only 44 vlogs last year. Now, old George and Lucy were on 365 vlogs a year easily. Life has been busy with the kids, but we are so excited that this is our big travel year. Coming back, we've got this epic Asia trip booked. I just couldn't be more excited. So today kind of marks the start of that trip. We've got a really exciting vlog for you today, celebrating our son's fourth birthday. We are days away from heading out. We've got a very short trip, and then we're back for a very small amount of time. Then we're going to keep the suitcases out, and then we're packing up and we're going, and it's happening, and I'm just beyond excited. We wanted to be in the UK for Coda's birthday, but this really does mark the start on the channel of how this year is going to look. We're so excited. And also, the pound in the Philippines peso rate has completely changed. Last time we were there, it's been like 63, 64, 67 pesos to the pound. Now it's like 79 point something. Like, that is crazy how different that is. So I don't know if things are more expensive out there and it reflects in that, or if the pound now goes further out there. I'm not too sure, so we'll see what prices are like when we get out there. But yeah, I think there's going to be a lot of changes, and I cannot wait to be back. Four years old. Like, I swear it was yesterday that we got pregnant. We flew 20 weeks pregnant back from Manila, got our flat here, renovated it all. Then he turned one, we moved into this house. This is his third birthday in this house. Like, how has life happened that quickly? I don't know. We love to film his birthdays just as, I mean, we were actually watching them all together the other day, and he loved seeing himself at each age. And for us, like looking back at the memories, how he changes. So this is like a home video for us, and we thought we'd bring you along with us. You can spend the weekend celebrating our son Koda's birthday. So he turns four on Sunday. He's got a birthday party on Saturday. And then today is like the big prep day. So the cake, it's looking great. It's four tiers. I used like 20 eggs. So it's a big, big cake. I've got a few last minute bits to wrap. I've done most of it already, but a few things have come like last minute. I've totally gotten too many presents. Hilarious. Four layers going on with the red icing. I've made this butter icing myself and put loads of red food dye in. I've never made a cake like this because there's no room for mistakes around the edges. It's like smooth around the edges. Obviously I'm not done. Obviously it's gonna be, I'm just layering up the icing at the moment to kind of keep it together. But I don't know, I've got this big tool and I don't really know what I'm doing with it. Looks so good though from a distance. Thank you. Every time I make these cakes, you make a comment. Last year you said about 10% of the way through and it was basically finished. He was meant to go on, but he actually, there's no space for him, and he's so red that it kind of, there's too much red going on. I needed more blue, hence Captain America. Yeah, very pleased with that. So that is a big thing ticked off my to-do list today. It's gonna stay in the fridge now until tomorrow. It'll be nice and cool. The icing's gonna stop melting like it has been because the heating's so hot. And yeah, done. But yeah, we just wanna also say in this video how proud we are of him, how much we love him. He's the funniest, kindest, most thoughtful big brother. He makes us laugh, like, I know everyone says like, oh, your kids make you laugh and stuff, but like, I swear, some of the one-liners this boy comes out with are like incredible, aren't they? Isn't he just hilarious? Comedy gold. Absolute comedy gold. He makes us, he's such a little character. Yeah. Am I in? You are. You haven't got your hat on. Is that a problem? No. No, that is a big problem. Where? That is a big problem. Yeah, for, it's, did you say you watch back for the other ones? Yeah, yeah. Seeing him grow up. I know. And like, making these videos has been so nice. We also filmed a little interview with him. We might share some of that. And this could be the last birthday vlog we kind of share. We don't really know if we're gonna carry on. I don't know. We definitely want to do the first few and have those memories, but as he becomes his own little man, and he really is his own personality, and as he gets older, yeah, I don't know, it could be the last kind of vlogged birthday, maybe. I don't know. But anyway, wait, but I need to go to Tesco's as well today. It's kind of like overwhelming how much we have to do today. I know it's all fun stuff and it's all stuff we've like given ourselves to do, but it's a lot. One of his presents is the fact that we're going on holiday on Monday. So it's birthday Sunday. We've got a little trip booked on Monday, Monday to Thursday, at a lovely hotel in the New Forest. And last time we stayed at a hotel like this, he was really unwell. He couldn't swim. He couldn't go to the park, the kids' club. He felt like he missed out. And he kept saying like, can we come back when we're better? And it's not the exact same hotel, but it's a very similar vibe, similar. And yeah, one of the envelopes says like, we're going on holiday tomorrow. He can't read, so I'll tell him, or George will, but we need to pack for that as well. And then we're doing Drusilla's on his actual birthday, which is like a zoo near us, a zoo, I wouldn't say farm anymore. It's more just a zoo, isn't it? They used to have a farm, but they've changed that now. It's not a farm anymore, which is like an interactive thing. But anyway, we're doing that Sunday, and then like a week after that, we go on our big like Asia trip. So it's like a chaotic time, but it's the best. And the age he's at now is just unbelievably amazing. So lots to do, better crack on. Okay, just upstairs doing some wrapping. I've got all the party bags sorted in here with different like Marvel characters. I need to find a better bag to store these, but got loads of bits in there, like little toy skateboard things and sticky webs and that go on your window, tattoos, stickers. Wrapping some final presents. So I've gotten some easy peelers. He loves an orange. I don't know, we always buy, last year we bought him a bag of apples for his birthday, and it was one of his favorite presents. And oranges and watermelon are his current favorite fruit. So wrapping those. One of our next toy stories, just wrapped a Bo Peep down here. Also just wrapped up four Ferrero Rochers, because last year we got him three, and now he's four. We're gonna do this like every year. However many years old he is, he'll get that many Ferrero Rochers, because for some reason that's his favorite chocolate. He's got taste, this boy. It's going to be us soon. We're going to be off on that plane into that sunshine. Yes, it is 8.53 a.m. The party starts 9.30. Everything's ready. We're not going to be late. We cannot possibly be late. We're late for a lot of things in our life, but today will not be one of those days. Everything around me has gone dark. It's almost like I'm on stage or in the theater or something. Okay, that's a bit better. The cake is in. The fruit's still ready to go. Now, Lucy's a little bit nervous about transporting this guy. We've basically found this box, which literally is just a cardboard box. It's not for cakes or anything. It's just an old cardboard box that we were about to throw out, so we're going to put it on there. Lucy's going to have it on her lap in the car as we drive to the party. Dakota's so excited. 5.30 a.m. wake up this morning because he couldn't think about anything else. He just woke up, said, Daddy, it's my party. Let's go. Let's go downstairs. Let's get ready. He's had a coffee, woke himself up, had a shower, and just looking forward to celebrating his fourth birthday. I can't believe this is fourth party. How have we done four parties today? It was crazy. Cake is secure. Okay, cake is in the box, and we're on such a bumpy road. Also, Joyce, there's a hole in the bottom of this box. What? I took out the paper bit, and there's a big hole in the bottom, so it's kind of leaning on paper. I'm going to have to try and drive right to the door. Yeah. And drop you off. We've had one cancellation on text this morning, and that's it so far, so I think we're pretty much there with a full house of all his mates and family and everyone. Oh no, two cancellations, but that's just a thing that parties always get. Who's the other one? Yeah. I'm just not saying the name to him. I'm spelling it out, because I don't want him to be like, ah. Well, that's fine. That's no big loss, really, is it, to the party? Joking. I'm joking. This is too bumpy, mate. I don't know what's going on here. You picked the bumpiest road in Worthing, and you're doing 30 miles an hour down there. Of course I am. I did my speed awareness course. And I also hope that it's not too warm in there, because it's nice and solid now, because it's been in the fridge, but if it gets too hot, it's going to start melting, and the figures are going to start falling off. It's going to be like a horror film. That was the best party I've ever been to, Coda. I think that was amazing to you. So we are home. That went really, really well. It couldn't have gone better. All his friends were there, all the family. We basically hired, I don't even know if we even said, but we basically hired this place where they put on the party. So in the past, Lucy and I have had to like, arrange our own bouncy castle we did one year, or, and do basically everything ourselves. So we had loads of like, this big soft play time with all his friends. Then they all went into another room with food, and this like, long dining table, looked like Hogwarts. Birthday throw, and Coda had a birthday throw at the end. And now we've come home, and Coda has all these presents to open from all of his friends. Coda! What is that? My own money. Oh man, that's amazing. That's so kind. Do you know how much that is? If you look, money always has a number on it. If you find a number, turn it over. 10. So what is it, 10? 10. So I can buy 10 toys. 10, if you find a toys for one pound, you can buy 10 toys. Or if you find a toy that's 10 pounds, you can get one 10 pound toy. Coda, that is amazing. So that is very impressive. We do not have to worry about coffee on this trip. I'm sure the coffee here is nice as well, but you know me. You know what I'm like. So I ground this up at home yesterday. Lucy just said, it's not a coffee vlog, George. Well, Lucy, my dear, that is where you're wrong. No, I'm only joking. Remy is now down for his nap. I think the plan is for Lucy and Coda to go swimming. For me, we could go together. Yeah, we're trying to time it before dinner. We've got a dinner reservation here this evening. Perfect. Made a mess already. Just a little bit of ground coffee. Amazing. I did not think I'd be able to make pour over coffee yet. Okay, this clip's going to look rubbish because it's so steamy. It's so hot in here. The water is amazing. It's the warmest pool ever. And it means Remy can just play in it for hours, literally. Probably not hours, but he can be in it and we don't have to worry about him getting too cold. And it's just lovely. Huge swimming pool. Hot tubs for adults. Outside hot tubs. Tony's trotting along the field behind us. That is incredible. But goggles are on. Time for some serious playing with codes. Okay, we've finished with our swim now. We've come back to the room. I'm going to have a shower. We didn't really get to show you the room earlier because Remy went straight for a nap. But they do things here like provide baby baths, which makes it so much easier travelling with kids. But yeah, nice big shower here. Our room actually goes straight into the kids' room. They've got these really cool mood lights. I'm going to actually put the main lights on just to show you. Wow, cool lights. And they've got two single beds. Remy's cot here, but we'll probably put this in our bedroom anyway. And this really cool mushroom-y print on the wall. And this brand of hotel always have Elemis products and they're amazing. So I'm going to have an everything shower in a minute. And then coming through to here, it's this huge room. They've actually provided Koda with a little yotto player. Yotto player, if you can hear Peppa Pig in the background. But we'll have to show the room once we've lived in it because it's more realistic. But anyway, Koda's toys are all out there. Amazing view here of some fields and some horses. And apparently we may see deer here. Ah, is that deer? That might be over there. I hope my eyes aren't good enough to actually see. I think that's deer, but it might be horses. Maybe we can zoom in on the idea and I'll know in hindsight. And it's like a loft style, so we've got amazing beams up here. Nice big bed in the middle. And round here is like a wardrobe area. So loads of storage. And then this actually goes out to our own... Oh my gosh, it's so cold, I'm not going out, sorry. Our own private balcony. If I wasn't in a swimming costume, I'd go out. Really beautiful having that outdoor space as well. Like as part of the room. Yeah, I'm going to have a very quick shower now. Well, hopefully not that quick. We might try and get Remy down for a third nap just so he can then have longer at dinner without having to rush through his bedtime. But we will see if that's going to happen or not. And in the swimming pool, we didn't film it, but we actually tried out the hot and cold showers. They've got like hot and cold therapy showers. I didn't go in the cold very much, but like half my body did. But George went in and the hot one was nice. And we both went in the steam room and the sauna as well. Like took it in terms of the kids. All like British history. It's like an abbey and stuff. Not just British, but... And inmate. Is it just British? Yeah, I think so. I think it is actually just British history. Because there's lots of trees and your hand's going to get knocked by a tree. It's going to really hurt. I wouldn't want to risk that. What beautiful greens. They've got a section over here called, We Had One of Those. And I've just said to Lucy, we had one of those. Because we had, as a family growing up, a Ford Mondeo. My dad had it in silver. And it's the exact same model. This is nostalgia. Ooh, they've got a Capri as well. Did you? You did not have one of those. Is that the Renault Avant or something? Huh? Avante or something like that. What does he have? Oh my goodness, my gran had one of these. One of these Vauxhalls. And my dad had a Ford Capri as well. Actually, I've never sat in one, so I need to sit in that. So this would have been my dad at my age, or maybe a bit younger, going to pick up my mum. Oh, that one's not open. Is it? No. Wow. Yeah, they didn't have buttons. Oh, this is so cool. The old-fashioned. That smell as well. I remember that smell. Had loads of legroom in these cars. Way more than modern cars. Hey, I'm having a little bit of a moment here because I didn't realise that these cars in here, I think, I mean, some definitely say they are. They're the actual, yeah, they're the actual cars. Like, for example, the Only Fools and Horses three-wheeler, the actual one. The Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets. The Ford Anglia, the actual one that was used in the movie. And then, most exciting for me, Die Another Day, the Bond movie. The Jag that was used on the ice. If you remember that scene. This is, I think, the actual car from the movie. I don't see why it wouldn't be in a museum. How cool is that? I just absolutely love that movie as a kid. And here is the car from it. With those red spikes. I remember that so, so well. That is so cool. They've got loads of old toys here. Some Bond stuff, which is kind of weird because, obviously, his Brosnan stuff would have been when I was a kid. And now it's in a museum. So that's one way to make yourself feel old. But they've just got so many cars here. There's the famous orange car. If you've never been to Beaulieu, and you're not, maybe you're not from the UK watching this and you're planning a trip, I mean, I would definitely add it to your list if you can. The New Forest itself is beautiful, as you've been seeing in the vlog. And just to come here, they've got, look, the Sierra Cosworth, and just so much stuff. Obviously only if you're into cars, otherwise it'd be the worst day out. But for us, we are having a great time. Massive. We've got the Bluebird. I remember my dad telling me about this as a kid. This is from the 60s, and it looks so kind of futuristic. Kind of. A few hours later, I can't remember what we last vlogged. It may have been at Beaulieu. It may have been afterwards. I don't know. Anyway, we're back at the hotel. We have had a swim, and we've ordered tonight for dinner, which I'm really happy about. And it's why I'm in the big hoodie, just in soft trousers, comfortable clothing. We've ordered pizza to the room they're going to bring up for us. They're going to bring it up to us in the room, which is just amazing. We're going to have a little bit of a movie night. We've got TV here. Smart TV, so Disney, Netflix, whatever. I don't know. We've got all the subscriptions we can log into, and then get all our own stuff, which is cool. I'm just having a little bit of chill time. I'm with Remy. Playing some toys. Are we, Remy? Yes, we are. And yeah, just waiting for these pizzas. I feel like this vlog has been a little bit of an epic vlog. Not saying it's an amazing vlog. I'm saying, in terms of length, I have no idea at this point. We've been filming this over about a week by now, maybe. Yeah. Maybe not quite. I have no idea, as you're watching now, how many minutes on the little YouTube timeline, whichever way it goes, where we are, and how long it is right now, but if you're still with us. No, it's not the end of the vlog. It's not the end of the vlog. Can't do end of vlog club yet. Do a thing at the end of vlog. If you know, you know. End of vlog club. But it's not the end of vlog just yet. We'll show you the pizzas when they arrive. Look at that sunset. It's now the next day, actually, so we've had a whole day here, and it's been a really nice day because we haven't had any plans. We haven't really picked the camera up because for the first time in a long time, we've not been out doing something, an activity, or going somewhere. I had a really nice treasure hunt with Codes earlier. They've got a little thing downstairs with printed out pictures of these animals you need to find that are on little wooden plaques on trees, so we ran and did that. We were throwing acorns into a little stream for like an hour, and he was loving it. He spent some time at the den, which is like a little, like an Ofsted inspected place. You can leave them for a couple of hours, and George and I got some work done in the room when we had his naps. That was really good. We got ahead with some trip planning because we've got this trip coming up in a matter of days now. We went for a nice long swim, all of us, and that was amazing. The pool here is just like such a highlight because it's so nice and warm, and we just spent like an hour and a half in there, which was lovely, and now we're heading for some dinner, but I thought I'd end the vlog here because we showed dinner here on the first night, and we actually ordered pizza last night as well, which was really nice. We ordered pizza to the room after our swim last night, but I thought I'd end the video because it's so easy with family life at the moment, how chaotic it all is, and how busy we are to forget to end videos, so because I remember to end it, I thought I'm going to do it right now. I'm not going to film anymore. I'm going to end the video, and then I know it's such a long vlog as well, so I didn't want to do too much of a rambling outro, but thank you so much for watching.
