Standing Up for Truth: Faith, Empowerment, and the Power of Speaking Out
On Episode 65 of ROGUE ROUNDUP, Lara Logan and Producer/Co-Host Luke Coffee share a powerful, personal conversation about faith, courage, and the responsibility that comes with knowing the truth.
When the fight feels overwhelming… when it seems hopeless… that may be the moment we’re being reminded to look up.
Lara speaks about: • Why public pressure still matters • The power of the American citizen • Refusing to live in fear • Standing for truth as believers • What we risk if we stay silent
“The United States citizen is the most empowered individual on the planet. Use it.”
This isn’t about recklessness. It’s about responsibility.
If we know the truth and know God, there is a duty that comes with that knowledge. The greater fear isn’t losing comfort — it’s what happens to the next generation if we don’t stand.
Well, this is what I know for me, okay?
I know that speaking up matters.
I know that public pressure still matters.
I know that there are far more of us than there are of them.
I turn personally to my faith a lot.
I know that when I feel overwhelmed,
when I feel that something is hopeless,
I take that as that's God showing me
that we alone, humans alone, can't win this battle.
He's saying, okay, you've done everything humanly possible,
and if you don't see any light, that's because it's my job.
I'm gonna finish this, and the light you're looking for
is not there because you're not looking up.
You're not looking to me.
So that's just for me personally.
I'm not saying that's how other people have to approach it,
but what I know is that the United States citizen
is the most empowered individual on the planet.
We have so many rights in this country.
Use them.
Whatever it is, figure out where you're comfortable,
figure out where you're not comfortable,
figure out how far you're prepared to go,
and be absolutely relentless
because your opportunity to stand up is a gift.
Amen.
It is a gift that is not to be squandered,
and the price of that, I only know this.
I know the price.
If we don't stand up now, for me, I'm 54 years old.
Okay, so if I live, it'll be a miracle
if I live another 50 years.
You look much younger, by the way.
Oh, yes, of course I do.
Thank you, Luke.
But my point is that for people like myself,
once you're over 50,
I'm not in the first half century of my life.
I'm in the end zone, right?
It may be 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, 40 years,
whatever it is.
What have I got to lose?
For me now, I am not seeking death,
just like Dr. Stella Emanuel, who was on the show,
sitting in that chair where you are.
She said, you know, I'm not trying to die,
but I'm not afraid of it,
and that's the thing for me,
is that I don't want to die.
I want to be here for my children.
I want to be here for my grandchildren,
but what I am more afraid of
is what happens to them if I don't fight.
Right, and that's where I think as believers in God,
in the true God, I think Jesus,
that we're a threat to the system.
We're a threat to the fallen demonic system
because we stand for truth.
We stand for God.
We don't, this is not our final destination.
Well, if humans don't choose God,
if they choose Satan, he wins.
Right, and they want, I mean,
that's what they want is to live in fear
and think that this is it.
This is not it for me,
and if I'm taken, I'm in glory,
like right here, like, you know,
that clip has gone very viral.
That's another Dr. Stella clip.
Dr. Stella clip.
If the dead knew, you know, I mean.
If the living knew what the dead knew.
What the dead knew.
Yeah, even 10 minutes, what will confront you?
What will, in a few minutes.
Yeah, yeah.
That they would turn to Christ.
So that's where we have hope in,
it's not in this world, it's not in politicians, anything.
It's standing for truth because God is truth
and God is light, but we have to make a stand.
We have to make that, there's a responsibility
in knowing truth and knowing God.
